Great to see this kind of content again. I have had a job were I am unhappy. So I looked for work elsewhere. Then left that job once I got the new job. Your view on pay rises was interesting. Never thought of it that way about profit margin and what it goes towards and the concquences. I got bullied in a previous job, I got told by management they are just having a laugh and not to take it seriously. So I quit. So what's the best thing to do if your bullied via leverage or verbal bulying??
Glad you liked it. I think back to the traditional content seems best for our audience like yourself. In answer to your question theres two angles; my own approach and the sensible approach. My own approach personally is to call them out in front of people and be direct about what their problem is keeping eye contact, calm persona, wry smile on my face whilst I do it and goading them to lose their wrag and therefore like a tool in front of ppl. But bear in mind ive managed all sorts and I take no shit so I appreciate not the approach most ppl will feel comfortable doing. So the sensible approach I'd advise is that you still need to challenge the person but maybe behind closed doors but make it clear that you feel they are being a dick and you'll take it to HR if it doesnt change. Always front someone out but be reasonable. Most occasions 1 on 1 bullies bottle it and get the picture. But do it quick as soon as you see the problem, dont let it fester as they just feed on it and you suffer more.
