Its generally only white S.A. who speak Afrikaans
@j2b348
@j2b348 4 года назад
@@icequeen620 : Afrikaans is the majority language of the western half of South Africa, particularly in the provinces of the Northern Cape and Western Cape- 1. It is the first language of 75.8% of Coloured South Africans (4.9 million people), 2. 60.8% of White South Africans (2.8 million); 3. 4.6% of Asian South Africans (58,000 people), 4. 1.5% of Black South Africans (600,000 people). So what about the colour of people who speak it, the main thing is learning a New language which is very closely related to Dutch. Don't be a bigot!!!

You are such a wonderful inspiration, your personality is as beautiful as you are dear sister. I enjoy listening to your videos which I recently stumbled upon while taking interest in listening to music in Lingala and French, which I'm now interested in learning. I love your enthusiasm it motivates me to really try, I spent six years in Germany via the military but only learned the basic conversational Deutsch, however not being around anyone that speaks the language at home I have forgotten most. I'm older now and hope that I am able to learn and retain the Lingala and French languages. My son is trying to learn Spanish, he has been to Cuba and Nicaragua and wants to communicate with them in their language. Besides we do have a lot of Spanish people in our town now so that will be a good thing for him. I just want to say thank you for the motivation and encouragement, you are truly a blessing, continue being such a beautiful person inside and out.😊💝

Awesome video! You're really an inspiration to me and I'm always excited whenever you upload a new video. I'm learning Spanish and was in Barcelona last year. It made me think of one thing. Have you ever thought about learning Catalan? Since you know Spanish and French, maybe it would be easy? :) And you should visit Barcelona when you can. It's the most beautiful city I've ever been to. Especially Parque Güell. :D Btw I'm Albanian but born in Denmark. I know Danish, Albanian, English and now learning Spanish. I also learned German in elementary school for three years, but I forgot almost everything. :P

You don't want to learn my native language, Dutch. It's a pity, but you gave the right reason. You have to be motivated, otherwise you will not succeed! And we can communicate in English, German and Spanish.

Oporto in ES, Porto in PT. Another small correction, "em Portugal" rather than "no Portugal". Generally, words that are also places receive an o/a before them. Ex. no Rio (because rio is river), but Portugal doesn't have an everyday meaning, so it's em. I'd like to have explained it better, but it's been a while since I studied this aspect of Portuguese. Recife is another example, since it also means reef. But you'll find that some recifenses say "em Recife" and others say "no Recife". These are exceptions to the rule, usually where there's confusion over what to use, or certain uses have fallen into popular usage.

tupi211 yes that makes sense! And why ist it for example: na Alemania or na França but rm Paris? I thought em would be for cities ...
@LeaD2000
@LeaD2000 4 года назад
TheUrbanEve Hey I’m portuguese and I’ve been wondering about that all my life 😂 It’s just the way it is, there is that general kinda “rule” that tupi talked about but it’s very arbitrary and you’ll just have to memorize each case. Em Lisboa, no Porto, no Algarve, em Almada, na Alfama, na Catalunha, na Alemanha, em/na França, em/na Espanha, em Itália, no Japão, em Marrocos, no Qatar. I’d say almost all countries countries are “no/na”, but certain specific countries like Portugal, Spain*, France*, Italy*, Marrocos, Timor Leste, Israel, Cabo Verde, S.Tomé e Principe, (I think that’s all) have always “em” before, but for Spain/Italy/France you can also use “na”. All other countries I can think of are “no/na/nos/nas” countries. I always say em França, em Espanha, em Itália. Now with cities it’s way more arbitrary, you’ll just have to memorize or guess.

Tu español es muy bueno, sólo te equivocaste y te confundiste con el portugués, porque en español se dice "pronunciación" no pronuncia.

I totally understand you, I felt like that, too. That is why you'd always need a backup plan. Something you enjoy doing and want to build up and work for it. Also, don't let fear get in your way, otherwise, you're never gonna do anything! That counts for everything in life I guess.

Whats the difference between Catalan and Spanish?
@TheUrbanEve

Catalyña is a region in Spain with their own language Catalan. It’s has influences of Spanish, French and Portuguese. If you speak those languages you can understand Catalan. It is not Spanish, it’s an independent language.
