Why is there NOTHING on American TV this funny? Alan is HILARIOUS.

Alan is correct about the triple negative, it's two question. Yes or no are both valid, but the correct answer is "I do" because yes or no both require an agreement between the questioner and the responder regarding what the first "not" implies the intent of the question is. In any scenario you have to agree on the intent of the "don't" - but because "don't you" is a ubiquitous colloquial form of "do you", "I do" is the only answer both parties are likely to agree on.

Brandreth alwas makes these claims about the english language having the most words. Even ignoring the fact that 60% are copy&paste from latin, that's a wild claim.

But why did the mathematicians decide that English had to be multiplicative instead of additive? If someone says, "I don't want no peas!", they obviously mean "I don't want any peas". That's additive and normal. So why is English so weird? I think it's to confuse immigrants.
