The whole government operation is psychotic. This is not a light subject and I don't wish ANY of this on anyone but this should be a HUGE eye opener for people. Everyone who thinks swatting is bad should read the Patriot Act and then the UN charter. There are literally no real enforceable laws that ensure reasonable expectations of civility. The Government can be weaponized against you for ANY reason at ANY time and only minorities feel this fire constantly. America dehumanizes people to use them for (prison/slave) labor. We are conditioned to be afraid of our neighbors and communities because of minor differences. It was Native Americans, blacks, and any one against or exposing human rights violations under the government. Thing is the way these laws are written ANY one can be targeted. And in this culturally insulated society we are all economically competing against each other and "civilly" competing for dignified living. Sadly this reality is on 'If you know, you know' terms and that's a huge problem. People only pay attention once its too late and its happened to them.
Agreed. The last part gave me chills. Ludgwig ended his stream and was going to walk out so the prankster wanted them to think he would walk out shooting. Did they want them to shoot Ludwig?! That's horrible
it's their own fault they don't hold people accountable for this stuff, if the people putting in the false claims to cause a swat actually had a real threat of them being the one ending up behind bars they would stop doing it immediately, they are the type of people to hide behind a screen and consider everything justified as a joke until something inconveniences them then it's never a joke.

I get why it would go like that. As a fellow content creator, swatting has been a massive concern for me. I got the chance to speak with one of the swat officers in my town recently about swatting. He informed me that it is illegal and that if it happened, he would be sure to take the necessary actions to trace the number and have the caller arrested. I hope other content creators will see this and begin pressing charges against these "pranksters". People need to understand that if they swat you, the will 100% end up in a jail cell.
The issue is that the *"smart"* ones route the call through; or call directly from places outside the US which makes any action against them impossible, or so impractical it may as well be
The sad thing is they can't just ignore a call like that if they think it's a prank because it could ACTUALLY be a druglord torturing people, they kinda have to go and check.
Problem is when they do it repeatedly in the same adress, it has happened with Ludwig and Qt like three times already, probably more. At what point is the police gonna go and tag that adress as a streamer/youtuber adress that is prone to being "pranked" like that?
how can they even swat people without looking into the case first? its insane that the police have that much power to just decide to do this without a proper reason.
The thing is sometimes there’s not time to go ok I’m going to take a few days and go through this groups of peoples records and where they have been in the past month blah blah blah. No it’s like this group of people at this location are planning on doing a mass shooting at so and so tonight. There’s no time and teams like this genuinely do save lives.
Because its SWAT, Special Weapons And Tactics. They are called for things like bomb threats and terrorists. Looking into the case usually takes too much time for things like a bomb threat or a suspected terrorist, crucial time and lives is potentially on the line and they have to act fast.
Imagine the inverse of this though. What if it was a genuine situation and in the time it took them to investigate if they should even go to the situation, people died. We'd all be talking about how useless they were for not responding. As far as they were concerned, people's lives were in immediate danger, and in that situation, every minute counts. Life is too harsh, but at the very least 5 years! It’s not the police’s fault either. If they received a tip that forced them to bring in SWAT, they think there is a hostage situation! They have to treat that with aggression because they don’t know if it’s a prank or not! People have died because some basement dwelling neanderthals thought it would be good laugh to watch armored police barge in on a Twitch stream! This stuff is no joke. SWAT needs to be ready for actual hostage situations! It’s a waste of their valuable time and resources, and it can cause psychological and physical harm to innocent victims on the receiving end of the “prank”
It’s so sad that many youtubers and streamers get swatted because they’re normal just like us. Just because they’re more popular and well known doesn’t mean that they don’t have feelings and fears like all of us. I wonder what the person who called the swatted on them would feel if they were to get swatted once or more times.
To stop this from happening you would want to talk to your local police department to ensure that if a call like this happens a swat team isn't sent to your streaming home or location since they will have that information to ensure no mistake like this happens.
How do swat teams not know about this stuff yet? Like EMS crews will pick an old lady off the florr once and remember her house forever but does the SWAT team not remember the third time they go to a house "oh yeah we were prank called here 3 times before"???

I understand it's high stress, but them not making sure of the situation can leave innocent people traumatized severely. If people are visibly unarmed and not doing anything suspicious, just living their own lives, does that give them a right to point deadly weapons at them and yell at them, threatening them that if they make any sudden movements they will shoot? same thing happened to another fellow twitch streamer a couple years ago, dr. lupo. what made his situation worse was it was three times in the same day, first and second time his SON AND WIFE WERE NOT HOME AND ON THE WAY HOME, and then he was home. his kid was at home. if anyone even remotely thinks this is funny or quirky or makes you stand out and be cool, i fear for the future you strive to achieve. because your first step is the nuthouse for an evaluation. this can have lasting effects on someone including their kids in bens case. anyone who does this just needs to jump off the grand canyon. disrespectfully. there is no underlying medical condition that makes you a dick.
Funny how people use medical terms so carelessly that we now have to say "diagnosed" even though that word is gonna be used carelessly within the next 5 years.
I don't think this is true, as Lud and QT said themselves, after the first they simply never said anything about being swated when they were because it would only embolden the swaters to do it more; they continued to be swated many, many more times though thankfully they were able to have much more leeway on subsequent incidents after it happening so many times... People who are swated now i'm sure simply say nothing as it's worse to let them know they were successful, hense the impression it's gotten better...
The kids of gen X... 2019, a case of swatting caused by 19 year old.... 1964 is the last year of a boomer, and that would put the youngest Boomer at having this kid at 35, when it's biologically more likely that this is a child of Gen X'ers. Biology and math, dude.
