Firstly I want to apologize for the shaky video, it looks like my camera's "stability" control is no longer working for whatever reason. In today's video I add a wireless charger to the Quad Lock! I also add a USB "smart" adapter to stop the wireless charger from draining the R6 battery.

Iv just bought one. The cable is now built in. Im searching for videos on guides to fit and all are for usb. They dont have that no more and direct to battery is a bad idea. Guess ill have to figure it out myself!

Thanks for all the detail mate. I've owned a QuadLock mount for months and I love it but on longer trips Google Maps is draining my phone. I've ordered all the parts now to switch up to the same set up as you. Excited to get it running and have unlimited power on my phone. Thanks.

Glad it helped! I did a random "trip home" video where I did like a quick update on the charging of the wireless charger. At the end I talk about how long the ride was and how much battery % was charged WHILE using maps.

Most bikes DO NOT have a key for the seat, however, a lot of them do. Mine does not have a key for the front seat, only the rear, BUT the rear key seat doesn't work with the solo seat cowling. Thanks for the comment! 🤙🏍️

Do you have a steering damper? Or do you think I’ll need one. I’m thinking about getting one but i don’t think a damper would work combined with the quad lock stem mount on my R6.

I don't have a steering damper. I also don't think that having one is 100% necessary either. Your arms/elbows are technically steering dampers haha. But yeah if you do get one then you'll need to figure something else out for the quad lock for sure.

Take a look at their website, they might have changed the offerings from when I purchased it. I first bought the Quad Lock motorcycle mount in addition to the vibration damper, then later on I got the wireless charger head.

Im a bit worried about run it the same way underneath the fairing like you and then the cable melts or gets damaged my the heat of the engine… u experienced this? Thanks!

There are plenty of wires closer to the engine from factory then the one I ran, this was run underneath the fuel tank which is a good distance from heat sources. Running it under the fuel tank close to the tank will have no issues from what I have seen.

I'm confused about your question, why would either side connect to the adapter. Follow the steps in the video and you should be good to go.

I'm not 100% sure what you are asking. But the charger turns on when the bike is on, and charges the phone while the bike is in operation. Once the bike is off, the "AUTO" setting of the unit turns off the charger even if your phone stays on the charger.

Not sure what you mean by "sort of bung". The wireless charger comes with wiring to the battery if you don't have any auxiliary ports available on your bike.

@@CHRGITUP was thinking like a plug so if removed the wireless charger. U Would be left with an open usb port that rain could get into. So could do with a plug/bung to put into it. If makes sense. 😂

Got an 03 r1. Set this up and switch is on auto, however, the head does not turn off at all. Even with killswitch and key off. Let it sit over night thinking it would just shut off after a few minutes but came out the next morning and it was still on. Been having to turn it off with the head button. Any ideas?

That is weird, I would reach out to their support team. I don't believe that should he happening. It should shut off after maybe like 1 minute or less once the key is in the off position.

@@CHRGITUP Yes very helpful, only thing i found now on my Benelli TRK when i do longer rides it only shuts down the wireless charger when i turn on the key for like 2 seconds then it turns off. Like yesterday i did a ride 170km and it literally never turned off. Is my battery just so strong?

According to the "product" it SHOULD turn off after a couple of seconds once the bike key is turned to all the way off, not the bike being off, the key switch to off. If it doesn't I would reach out to quad lock and be like "what's up with that?".

The wire reached the seat easily, as for your second question I would refer that question the Quad Lock themselves. They have a pretty good response time with inquiries.

Hi! I just installed quadlock and put it on “auto” and when i turn it on it does flash and a blue light appears, but when i switch it off, the light is still there and doesn’t go off.. does it go off in few minutes or whats the catch?

The blue light should go off after a little bit, I've seen mine go off almost immediately sometimes and other times it takes a minute, but it should deffinatley turn off, otherwise it would juts keep drawing power from your battery.

It's probably because you might have a lithium battery. Lithium batteries have a higher resting voltage, so it will keep on draining it until it reaches the threshold.

Sure, but reaching under the wireless charger that has the weather prove rubber on the end piece would be super annoying, and eventually destroy the rubber seal.

Hey there, the Quad Lock can be used on a bunch things BUT I think this is a question for the Quad Lock guys on their website tbh. You'll get a better answer from them.

@@CHRGITUP just got an answer, they stated that only the Quadlock out of front mount (Pro) works with the wireless charging head and that now a week after buying my regular out of front mount I’m going to need to go out and purchase the Pro Mount which is $75 Australian dollars if I want to be able to use the wireless charging head. Please let me know if this is true or they are trying to make more money off me. Thanks in advance

@@feffe85 its not good for the phone battery thats why, youre only meant to charge your phone from 30% to 80% for more battery life long term

@@rhysbruh8387 well in that case, if you're concerned about batteryhealth - just change the charge settings to only allow 80-85% charge. When at 100% it stops charging anyhow.

I don't think you need to worry about battery for new phones. I keep my charging if it gets to 100%. Same thing as charging the phone overnight. Put the phone on charge before bed, it chargers and poof ready to go the next morning. Nobody gets up in the middle of the night to stop the charge.

My guess is it's too slow of a charge to keep up with continued screen-on use (eg. GPS) during moderate to long rides.

Just Facebook messaged quad lock. Why not just supply the wireless charger head with power isolation instead of making you buy the separate 12v to usb smart charger set up. More money and end up with loads of unneeded cables left over

You have to think differently my friend. Not everyone needs the USB smart adapter. Most bikes come with an auxiliary port to feed into. If Quad Lock just sent one out with every order then they would be literally throwing product and money away.

It deff should turn off, some might take longer then others but it SHOULD turn off, If it continues to not turn off, I would consider reaching out to them for sure.

The "plug" has a switch with it. On/Off and Auto so that doesn't happen.

Way too much wiring stuffed up and the cost of this system is too much versus my own Lazada bought wiring where I am plugged directly into my phone on its mount as needed.

Well yesss, you still need wires to get the "power" to the phone area... BUT the main thing is no wires going into the phone for charging! WHICH is awesome I might add!
