As much as I'm devastated of the dead state that id left Quake Champions in, I'm so glad that QC:DE is such a bonkers mod game. To everyone who worked at it, thank you so much! It's more fun than lots of modern shooters for comparison.
Selaco, Hedon bloodrite, Ion Fury, Ashes 2063 series (standalone gz doom game), Doom Eternal EOA weapon mod, Doom Incarnate wm, Starship Troopers wm, Call of duty black warfare wm. Snap the sentinal (standalone), space cats, DoomRLA weapon (200+ weapons with crafting and rare dropsans weapon mods/ enemy mod. Ad mortem, Eviternity, sunder, or going down maps. shades of Doom or project malice monsters. Bullet time mod, hp bars, flashlight, damage numbers. There are 1000s, try some of these stand alones or a combination of these maps+weapon+monsters+gameplay tweaks. Doom is still the best, and you can make your own custom fleshed out game in minutes and it all somehow works. Just need gz Doom and a launcher to keep mod combos and settings organized. Also explore all the texture and video settings, you can drastically change how it looks.
The guy that appears in the video, "PlayerGamer" is a pretty cool guy. As far as I remember, if correctly, he's one of the developers for the mod. I played with him over the DM EU server, he appears there a lot, and plays very well, I only once topscored with him on the server. It would've been cool to appear in the video as well, but I'm not home for quite a while so I didn't get a chance to play. Anyway, great video!
this is the mod that lead to Gianni voicing Gabriel in Ultrakill, he mentions this fact pretty much every time he streams QCDE i'm the artist behind most sprites for this project, and yeah it's still in beta, i am currently updating the current weapon skins with the ones made by me, so be on the lookout for when they drop so you can give them a spin, i'm sure you will love it no ETA on when *all* of the skins will be fully updated but we're going to swap what we have soon
well.. this is interesting... I started playing Quake Champions at 2016 and stopped like ~1-2 years ... well after that i rage quit due to my main (Anarky) being good but on the wrong hands ... was fun and wierd to be honest... most of matches to me was FUN! but to others usually it wasnt... sadly due to much negativity towards ME, I rage quited... while i couldn't see my mistakes i never argued and always apolagized and thanked many of them for helping me but I wasn't pro or anything...
Older Doom and Quake games were for hardcore fps players. Newer games like doom 2016 and Eternal and to some extend Quake Champions are like those rpg where you just become better than others by learning the subtleties and the overcomplex mechanic, with little or no talent involved. I am putting here quake champions because by adding different characters with different runspeed you kill even more time to adjust your movement and strategies to all those different and multiplied mechanics, which is actually a waste of time. Like some friend told me: ambition is the weapon of the stupid. Rapha is still winning in quake champions 30% thanks to the game retaining movement, timing and positioning from older quake games which give him a good advantage and 70% thanks to the fact that he is a timing machine and QC is even more inclined towards timing by adding ability items which also have to be timed. But anyway QC is worst than his deathmatch predecessors. Pros moved to QC because they got bored with playing the same Q3 based mechanic for 15 years and the money went to QC.
Would be keen to see you cover other arena fps games, warfork (had a duel ladder years ago going on Cybergamer that got about 60+ players) Painkiller (not HD) UT04
Yes, there is an official add-on that basically add ut2004 weapons (with all the secondary fires. You can do the asmd combo ;) ) and movements. + You get the dispersion pistol from unreal in solo/coop :D
