I love how satisfying it is to watch Quake speedruns when they are so bloody fast.

21 years after the release of the game, there are still new world records... amazing

I love how in the stats screen you can see the enemies running around confused, as if, "Wait, where did the dude go?"

I particularly love how instead of waiting for the elevator in e2m6 you just hopped up and went "I'M GOIN' ON AN ADVENTURE!" and then got back before it finished fully descending.

This is simply mind-blowing. I think there are still very few of us who fully realize how amazing skill and persistence is required to pull this off. You must be the only person who could ever even think about breaking this record.

Nicely done dude. Below 12 minutes is simply amazing for a SS run. The last update for the segmented record I remember was around 10:57, and after that a few seconds were shredded still, so it was at around 10:55 or so... And now you've done the single segmented only a minute slower... crazy. I don't have a clue where do you get the nerve to hit all the tricks on the later levels too. Very impressive.

Man, I've been following Quake speedrunning for a while now (2006) and I gotta say, this is the most impressed I have been since Peter Horvath E1M3 100%. This is Horvath level of cleanliness and technicality. Just wow, much props and claps to you for this run. Just WOW!

Holy cow. Excellent work. Several new tricks that I had never seen before. E2M6 vore zap was a complete surprise. I thought you were just filling in time while the elevator dropped, then you grabbed the shaft. :-) (E2M2 route was not what I was expecting either). Bravo Sir!

I have a question. Shooting through the wall with lighting gun at 9:16 on that level is quite new. But I remember seeing people doing that years ago on the final boss level to kill the guys through the wall. Why didn't people think to do that approach on that level years ago? They wasted A LOT of time on that level.

One life is not enough to train for a speedrun. This guys had to be born inside Quake.

Loved this game as a kid. Haven't played this in over 20 years I reckon. Looking back at this game, the sounds effects are awesome. Definitely makes the game that much more creepy. The graphics may be outdated as hell, but the sound on this game is still impressive. Who agrees? Edit: also, looking back at the gameplay, this was truly an awesome game....the level designs are just so cool

I'm new to Quake speedrunningx so this may be a dumb question, but is do you just add up all of your in game times to get your record, or does the time travelling between the levels count too?

I really can't grasp the Vanilla bunnyhop. Mostly because QuakeWorld was first to introduce bunnyhopping to me (Thanks player Wugga...), but that plainly means I won't be able to put my name in the speedrunning website. :(

This game have best memories from my teenage years. When this QDQ-project was active and still on the run I followed the www.planetquake.com/qdq -project website daily. This project inspired me more to play single player mode even most of time I spent in multiplayer online Deathmatch game with Quakeworld due to slow Internet Connection (dial-up 56k modem). Do you all the participants of this legednary classic project and totally Quake takeover binded the rocket jump for shortcut key? Still wondering that there's only nearly 80k views at this video after all these years.

Another question. On e1m1, I've seen players use the explosive barrel to propel themselves forward. But I rarely see that on single segment run through. Is it just really difficult or something?
