I think the very best thing you're doing with this channel is demonstrating that high-end sound is available to music lovers who exist on normal incomes. The future of this hobby will be reliant on convincing a new generation that quality sound is indeed worth caring about, and huge power-guzzling $50k+ monoblocks and towering 100kg speakers already represent the past... The forecast sounds bright🌞

Thank you for sharing and Subscribing. I enjoy being disruptive and questioning status quo. There are plenty of hidden hems but one just have to be open minded trust own ears and be prepared to pay less for better sound. Also looking among smaller non-mainstream companies makes it easier. Smaller companies don't have big marketing budgets so they have to compete with better sound quality. Easy win for those who can see(hear) it ;)

I started this hobby in the late 70's and just seeing how far budget hifi has come, amazes me. Not that these are budget, but they are at least achievable for some people unlike the 50 k monoblocks etc. The point of diminishing returns has come way down in the last couple decades, to where even modest budgets can afford very high quality sound for 5 to 10 k all in. And less doesn't sound that bad either. It's just a matter of do people really care that much to actually sit down and listen? Not so much I think when they can just take their air pods on the go and be happy.

I really disagree with people saying ohh "that sounds just like my PC speakers" when listening to well recorded RU-vid soundclips.. Wear a good set of headphones and you will immediately get a fairly correct impression of what these amazing Qualio speakers can deliver! Of course it is not comparable to beeing in the actual room, but it gives you a general idea.. Anyway this sounds just crazy good with this very low budget front end... Those speakers comes cross as one of the very best value choices in the market today and can compete with stuff costing many many times more I suspect!

Totally agree on your opinion. Sometimes I've bought speakers just based on soundclips from youtube. Of course I've done a lot of research before, but the my decision was done after I have heard sound impressions based on youtube videos, to actually get an impression of the sound characteristics. Let me tell you, that the real experience after buying was so close to my expectations which I have gained from the sound clips. Of course, the best way possible for a good decision is always personal listening experience. But if you have good headphones, you will definitely hear the general sound characteristics and sometimes this helps a lot. Not everyone has the opportunity to listen to listen to a wide range of speaker setups. This is a good compromise. And if you don't want to consider this at all in your decision making, just enjoy the good quality recording.

Very nice system. The first thing that my ears can hear is the depth, airiness, and instrument separation of the recording. Your complete system probably cost not that much more than my speakers alone so this is very encouraging for where audiophile hifi is going i.e. more bang for your buck. I really can't say my system is better than yours for double the money :)

Thank you very much for your comment and insight. Yes bast sound for the buck is always what i like. I can appreciate ultra high-end gear but for its sound and not only pricetag. My experince proved so many times that price only matters to the point. It's all about matching components and eliminating weak spots during this balancing act. And by further cherry picking the component one does not need to sell kidney to enjoy great system 😜

Great. Some of the piano highs at the beginning of the first soundtrack sound quite edgy to my ears and would quickly become fatiguing. Can't assess on vocals so 3rd track came close but did not go over the fatiguing edge and was better than 1st part of the 1st soundtrack. The third soundtrack highs were played with a great arrangement where the guitar displaces the sharp highs of a piano. Thank you very much for this your grand recording.

Nice! Although my room is big enough for the IQ i find there size a little to intrusive in my living room. The Quantum is not 100% the solution because I love the open baffle design of the midrange and therefore also the look of the IQ much more. I think an IQ with slightly smaller bass cabinet would be much nicer 😊 We can only dream and maybe one day there will be the IQ Mini 😅

If we put a satori midbas into the baffle instead of it going down to 40 Hz it will in such narrow baffle need to be cut off at around 800-1khz. That leaves only one woofer so that means lower overall efficiency, since we have to keep proper sound balance. Also one small woofer does not do it for me. To be honest at my pleasure level the Quantum is too small for me but I like to really rock !!! So it all can be solved with adding aditional woofer, but that brings the impedance way below 3ohms which is not good. So why not go for 8 ohm drivers instead for 4 to start with? It would be good if only the 4 ohms sound didn't better ;( so yes there are lot of factors to consider ;)

I assume it´s a wonderful speaker. But to be honest. The construction and idea of the IQ is more "out of the box" and performs wonderful. Even in my 22 sm room... so no need for a conventional small speaker. But of course it has a grater WAF 🙂

Yes I agree that the IQ is more open in the design and sound. And many people asked us about some more normal looking speakers exactly because of WAF or smaller rooms. I remember in Hong Kong one of the visitors asked me if we have a smaller than IQ speaker and I asked him what is the list Ong room size and the answer was 4 square meters. Well if he is crazy enough the Quantum will fit ;) but with that answer I understood why half of of the show was headphones ;)

@@VirtualHiFi I have my Kef LS50 mk1's Black Edition nearfield 0.7 m from my ears but at my desk.. It could fit in 4 square metres just ..but is in my smallest bedroom/office .. driven by either a modified Rotel or Musical Fidelity A1.

Very nice setup. Could you please explain how you connect the fosi audio za3 in monoblock setup. Are the za3s connected to EverSolo dmp6 master which serves as preamp? Or the Weiss dac204 analog out left right is connected respectively to each fosi left right channel? In this case do you have to control both volumes of the za3s?

Thank you very much for your comment. I go directly from the Eversolo as a streamer to the Weiss DAC via USB. From the Weiss I go to the Fosi amps with RCA. I can use eversolo as a volume control but I prefer to use both knobs. I have to arrange and experiment with some preamps and also I have a passive supermalloy passive transformer I need to solder up and test ;) But yes for convinience I'd think about some kind of preamp for them ;)

Hello, if I understand correctly, you stream from the Eversolo which outputs via USB to the Weiss with a return from the Weiss to the Eversolo in RCA (or XLR). so you put the Eversolo in preamp mode. question, I'm looking to change my Chord Qutest Dac and move upmarket to the TT2, with your expertise and in your opinion, is the Weiss superior to the TT2? Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Thanks for your question , I go eversolo USB to Weiss and then to Fosi with RCA (will test XLR soon). I can regulate the volume control with eversolo with the knob but additional preamp would be the best solution. I have no experience with Chord DACs other than on the shows. But I'll contact the local Chord dealer and test them out soon. If you have a chance to listen to Weiss go and borrow it for at least few days. It's truly special ;)

I see you tested some full range speakers in the past in a small box.. How are some of these as open baffle? Would the Mark Audio driver work open baffle down to say 300Hz?

I already imagined it but you can try after removing the lid, since you have them at hand. With the box closed the logical option is Sparkos. A comparative demo? With yours and the FOSI. For the Fosi I'd definitely go for the Weiss. The fosi Za3 is a quite rich sounding so with lampizator it might be too rich. When you add Weiss punch and soundstage with quite rich and colorful for a TPA3255 amp like the ZA3 I'd go for the Weiss here ;)

Maybe a stupid question but is it even possible to really evalute high-end sound reproduction through youtube? Also, I hate all this "audiophile-jazz" music that audiophiles insists on. Is it possible to actually enjoy this kind of music on an emotional level? I mean, it's totally unrelatable and has some purposely uninvolving qualities to it. It's a mystery to me. It feels like audiophiles just listen to music to evaluate their retardedly expensive equipment. Well, it really doesn't matter. Live and let live.

A lot of us listen to jazz , plain and simple , but I also listen to hard-core punk , speed metal and gore grind , come sit in my listening room and after about a minute listening to SLAYER on my ALTEC VOICE OF THE THEATER, you would say hey how about some jazz on your planar speakers , 😂 if you don't like jazz all I can say is sorry .

Thanks for the comment and I'll explain more in a soon to come video. It's all about copyrights. I used copyright free music that was not recorded amazingly but I did manage to cherry pick few track, but the differences in sound due to recordings quality was not as big as with the music that I use for 2 last months. I try to pick tracks that also have dynamic and rough parts so that it shows the potential of the components. But yes I only use music that I got the rights to use on this channel ;) And yes well recorded sound samples - especially comparisons can give a very good big picture on how the things sound ;)
