Joan is fantastic in this movie. It s the perfect film that shows her wonderful star quality. The beautiful gowns, the melodrama and Joans mannerisms are just perfect. Thank you so much for uploading this gem of a movie.💎
@@Ourladyrules big fan here too. Joan didn't like it though. And her costars Sterling Hayden and Mercedes McCambridge hated working with her. Greetings.
Thanks for uploading this movie! It was a like a car wreck I couldn't look away from! I watched it all the way through for Joan's acting. She did such a great job through all that dreck!
me and my mom (RIP MOM) both loved Joan Crawford, she was a brilliant actress, intense and spot on. ive not seen this one, really excited to watch it. thank you so much for broadcasting this film for us 🎥🎥🎥🥂🥰
@@Ourladyrules We're so glad you've joined us on this cinematic journey. Miss Joan Crawford strutting her stuff in "Queen Bee" like a true screen sensation! Oh, the glamour, the intrigue, the oh-so-delicious tension. Stay tuned for more! Sincerely, Silver Scenes.
at that time, she was requesting a lens filter on closeups, softening and disguising her fading looks. I think she was gorgeous, but didn't age very well, and the heavy makeup didn't help either.
Ooh this was classic Crawford! Over the top make up, hair, gowns and nightwear, some brutal lines and a soap opera to rival Dallas! I am one happy person, if you have any more of this stuff, please share!
I am absolutely spellbound by this fabulous movie! Have seen the majority of Joan Crawford‘s’s movies, I cannot believe I have not watched this one before. I think everyone of the characters are fabulous! They have each succeeded in captivating their own characters - especially Joan. If I may say so I think it’s been terribly overlooked and neglected. Joan should’ve been at least nominated for an Academy. Just leaves me breathless!
Not only was she a wonderful actress, she was extremely hard working and gracious in her personal life... I read her book about her lifestyle, decorating, entertaining, dressing, skincare, makeup, style, etc... She was a consummate perfectionist in the best sense of the word. The notes so graciously written thanking someone for a gift, the attention to detail in all manner of things, special meals prepared for her husband's coworkers at last minute notice and her special platters of cheese, meat, bread and olives for her husband to snack on while working evenings at home. She took care of everything while looking like a million bucks.
I love these old black N white movies especially Joan Crawford she makes good movies. I love these black N white movies before i was born. Its a comfort movie to relax N watch ❤❤❤
I have this brilliant film on dvd. This is one of my mum's favourite Joan Crawford.'s films. Joan Crawford was one of mum's favourite actresses. Live from the UK. ❤❤❤❤❤
I have seen Queen Bee my best friend has e ery Joan Crawford movie. Class and Grace and Honesty 3 of many of Joan's traits. ♥ Love you dear lady of the Silver Screen.
In talking to people over the years, i mention that Joan is my favorite actress and some will say yeah she is alright but I like Bette Davis. I like Bette too. Every actress has her own manorisoms whether it be their speech eyes movements etc. Joan stands proud ♥ in her way, just like Bette does in hers. But Joan will always be The Queen Bee 🐝
@@kathleenking47 Amen Sister ..I realize that people look at the movies of today and compare them with the Golden Age. I get a warm feeling when I watch vintage movies and TV 📺 People with common sense appreciate those simpler times enjoy a picnic lunch or a ride in the country in the families big Buick sedan. Thank you for your like and take a step back and enjoy your day ☺
What an incredible masterpiece in every possible way; the story (is it from a play?), the mindblowing acting, the cinematography, the editing, the music -good lord the music! I wasn't even born when this gem was made but i grew up with this perfection and everytime i'm getting out of a theatre today (and i go often) i'm like; yeah that was all right and i forget all about it a few hours later. I know i will NEVER FORGET that movie. What happened? What the hell happened? We could'nt have fallen from grace that fast, that hard in 60 years. I don't get it .
The film's exploration of power dynamics, family secrets, and emotional turbulence encapsulates the quintessential melodramatic elements that characterized many films of the era. We live for Joan and films that leave an indelible mark like Old Hollywood did so well. Sincerely, Silver Scenes.
Extremely dysfunctional family but makes for gr8 entertainment. Only in a movie would that many people put up with so much abrasive constant anger. Today people would just walk out.
Christina Crawford is a grifter who lied. If you do some research, you can uncover her lies. She hated Joan and coveted Joan's fame. What she couldn't have, she vowed to destroy.
Thank you. THANK YOU. *THANK YOU* !!!!! I've been wanting to see this movie forever!!!!! The staircase in the beginning of the movie kinda looks like the staircase in Mommie Dearest. That woman....Sue. Drove me nuts, trying to figure out who the actress was so I checked the credits. NO WAY!!!! FAY WRAY! She looks so different with dark hair!
I'm not sure if it's the hair or the part she is playing but I find Miss Crawford very ugly in this movie. But, she is ABSOLUTELY MARVELOUS!!!! Love it!❤❤
@maggiemae7539 …These old movies are full of things, now in hindsight. I have watched a few that had 56 on doors or trains. (king Charles’s coronation date) 😉 🌷
from what I've read about the backstage drama that went on during her films in that period, she was truly the Queen Bee on her sets.. Getting older, her looks fading, and being insecure around younger female talent , she held on to that reign of power that she had.
I made as mistake above---Joan Crawford WAS in Harriet Craig, in 1950, which was a re-make of Craig's Wife, a 1936 film, which starred Rosalind Russell. Craig's Wife is an excellent film. I have not yet seen Harriet Craig, I look forward to it.
Lovevthe old first black and white talkies .i loved Joan i thought her a great actress she worked hard to become known in the spot light and was determined to become famous into the spotlight.years later she became known and lovedvfor her movies.godbless youJoan.🙏rest in peace amen🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🌹
I read that Joan Crawfords daughter Christina left the theater during the screening of this film. Joan's portrayal of Evie was so reminiscent of her actual personality when she was drinking - that it gave Christina cold chills .
At 5314, the wedding dinner scene. The necklace that Jones is wearing is the same necklace she wore to the 1963 Oscars the night she accept the award for Anne Bancroft, who won over Bette Davis.
I never saw this film until now. And it is as I imagined It could be. Camp and.. Ridiculously funny. Crawford's films never really let you down. Would it also be possible to upload "Flamingo Road"? Which was shot after "Mildred Pierce".. Thanks so much for this classic "Trash Camp" 👌
Wow, Joan played that malignant narcissist very well! I knew when her husband looked at the gun case, what he was going to do. A little too unrealistic at 1 hour and 18 seconds, though
