Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip visited City Hall in February 1983. We present this presentation in the City Council chambers as the Queen turns 90 years old on April 21st
I’m here because Queen Elizabeth II has died and I started reminiscing and suddenly remembered that I was actually in the same room as the Queen once. So because RU-vid has video of everything that has ever happened in the world I did a search of “Queen Elizabeth in Los Angeles “ and voila - one of my life experiences played out before me. I was a junior administrative analyst in the CAO’s office and most of us went to the council chambers when we heard that the Queen was going to speak. Of course, I was waaaay in the back but I did behold her with my own eyes and when I saw her my first thought was that she reminded me of my mother when she’s dressed for church. I loved the sound of her voice and thought she gave a really nice speech about Los Angeles. Sleep well, dear Queen.
