Love the look of disbelief on their faces. It was her first song on the show and they all thought she was just a singer from a metal band. She said she wore metal gear to maintain that illusion and shock them all.

just to add more substance to this. Up to this point, as someone else already mentioned, Floor was known around the world thanks to After Forever, Revamp, and Nightwish, but was unknown in her own country. Additionally, with Henk being featured first, he said he would be surprised if someone sang something operatic for him. Then Floor went on. In effect, you're reacting to 6 other people reacting to Floor for this first time, let alone an entire country. I'm surprised the collective thuds of jaws dropping to the floor didn't register on any seismographs near you in Germany. Some of the comments they made on the set after this had Henk saying "Good music is good music, PERIOD. It doesn't matter what genre." Samantha said that she sang that so easily like she was peeling potatoes in the kitchen, that it's ungodly how well Floor can sing.

All the people on the sofa are not just "those people" but hugely successful recording artists themselves. But most of them had never heard of Floor, so their reactions are partly shock at her performance. I just lucked out and saw this the night it dropped on RU-vid, and ended up watching almost every show. It's worth taking some time to watch, there were many wonderful performances.

Almost nobody in that audience had heard her sing before, so this was their discovery of Floor. That explains the gaping mouths. :) She sang this song specifically for Henk, because he listed it before the show as one of his favorite songs from childhood.

Never seen a room full of people fall in love so fast XD

I loved watching this show every week. Then waiting for Denise translation. The whole show was amazing. Even the interviews were fun to watch. How she was completely unknown in her own country. Till this show. Then became the superstar, that she is, there.

This was from the first episode, so it was the first time for most of the other singers hearing her.

This was the opening of the season, nobody knew who Floor was, except Tim Akkerman and to some point Henk Poort (due to research prior to the show) the others had no idea what power vocals they had in front of them, till she blew them all away. Its (per season) always the same people on the couches who, in turn, are all singers as well (including the host) They each have their own style and genre in music and get challenged to perform eachother's own songs or songs of importance to them. Floor sang this for Henk, who's mother used to sing this song a lot (she too was a Opera/Operetta/Musical singer, like her son Henk Poort is) Imagine this, you are one of the singers there and you just have heard there is this metal singer there who sings for this big world famous band Nightwish on the show as well. This lady gets to do her thing and she comes with this... an instant wakeup call for everyone involved, this lady is (much much!!) more than meets the eye. In the next episodes Floor not only convinced them but also everyone at home watching the show, that she is of a rare quality, a very rare quality indeed. And her goal to get metal more accepted seems to have worked, i personally know of quite a few "middle of the road" type of people, who never gave metal the light of day, who now are actual fans of her and ... of Nightwish, heck i know several elderly people who bought tickets for the Nightwish concerts to come! (and who know what to expect as they have been binge watching every Nightwish video and performance they could find). She finally gained that well deserved fame in her own home country thnx to the show. You now have checked 2 songs from this show, and you basically have (at least) 6 more to go (at least i say because i am 100% sure you are going to get curious about the other singers as well) This season was of a ridiculous high level of quality, each and everyone has delivered great songs and performances (ok, some more than others, but each has at least 1 song you need to check out) Thnx for the upload man :D

The other people are not audience, they are all singers. “Henk is so into it.” Well, he should, Floor is singing this for him and to him. The concept of the show is that all singers get their turn. There is also an episode where Floor sits on the couch and the others sing to her.

Henk is a opera singer. In this episode (if I good remember) Henk say that he wonder if someone sing a opera for him. Floor sing this one perfect. Great reaction like always.

She can sing the terms an conditions of any site or product and make it sound like a heavenly piece of music. I mean, her skills and versatility make her so unique that she creates her own niche in the world of vocals.

Emma Heesters does a great rendition of one of Floor's songs when she was in After Forever and it's Floor's turn on the couch. I recommend that as well.

I highly recommend 'Mama'. Floor sang it to Samantha (the blond in red) who wrote that song. It's such a powerful song, and beautiful.

This is the first song of the first show. She sets a standard. All theother great singers felt the urge to at least try to get there and they did a great job. But i;ve been Floored since this song. There are seven shows and i honestly can say that the challenge each other. Episode 4 is for Floor.

This song was the first of the season and the singers didn't know who is really Floor Jansen. I strongly recommand Strong by Emma Heesters. This is a song from Floors former band After Forever. The song means a lot to her so you will see. It was written for her mother. The rendition of Emma is perfection I'd say

A singer with a similar vocal range to Floor who I think you will love is Dianne van Giersbergen. She was in Xandria. Has a band of her own band Ex Libris and is in a all female band Exit Eden. I say start with Nightfall Xandria. Motherland Ex Libris is an amazing song. She's going to be on the new Ayreon album as The Soprano.

Aus der Sendung ist von Ihr im Grunde genommen alles zu empfehlen, aber wenn du was exotisches haben willst, dann hör dir Que Se Siente an! Das Lied performt sie einfach nur genial! Wenn du von den andren Sängern ein Lied empfohlen haben willst, dann empfele ich dir ganz klar von Tim Akkermann: Nemo. When you're going to do "Beste Zangers" I strongly suggest to take the clips of "jenniezelf" as she has also included the talking / interviews before and after with english subtitles. The concept of the show is, that on one day all singers sing a song for one of them. It's a song that is from that singer or a song that means a lot for him / her. So it is very interesting to get to know the story behind each song. And it will help to understand the reactions of the other singers. Especially for the songs "Mama" and "Winner" it is really good to know the story behind them.

From this show i'd recommend "Winner" next, also sung by Floor.

The Phantom was the last song of the complete series , and Vilja lied was the first....with Vilja lied they didn't even know who Floor was(only Tim knew her a bit).She made quite the impression...

This was first song in this season 2019, Floor opened it. And what a way!!! She also closed this season - together with Henk Poort (Phantom of the Opera). Just think, most people in Netherlands think she is just tattooed metal singer - and then they got this! What a surprise! Also it is nice to follow these other singers "face evolution", from this song towards Phantom. This was surprise to them, and so was also her next song, "Mama". So, check that one next!

Try Que Se Siente, the song Floor had to learn Spanish for and was petrified to perform, and yet, she nailed it. I'd say it's better than the original even! Or try Mama, that one makes me cry. As a person who just absolutely adores her mother, I really felt that one, even if I don't understand a word of Dutch. Music truly transcends language.

I don't think it was standard German. I think it was an old style German. This was sang for Henk. It was a song his mother used to sing to him as a child. It was a really fun show. Each singer is paid tribute to by the other singers. This episode was for Henk to be honored. Floor was the only singer to sing an opera style song for him.

She's singing to Hank. He said his mother used to sing it to him. That's why he was mouthing the words. So Floor speaks Finnish a little, Swedish, English, Spanish, German. What can't she do?

Like you said this is a Dutch show she went on because where she comes from in the Netherlands she was not very well known. They don't listen to much metal in the Netherlands., Finland, Germany, Britain, Europe, South America, Asia they sell out stadiums, but the Netherlands not so much.. Well, basically this show gathers seven well established Dutch singing artists from a variety styles and backgrounds.. They do some personal and professional research into each other.. and every week one of the Singers is "on the couch" and the others pick out a song to sing for them.. It could be a song that the artist on the couch wrote, or just a particular song that has some significant personal importance in their life.. They discuss the song they have chosen a little before each performance to explain why or what is the significance of that song . This discussion gives the viewers some personal insight into the other performers. Unfortunately the language is Dutch, but it has English subtitles.

Those artists are great! Perhaps you can do Rolf Sanchez - Solo Otra Vez... its the spanish verision of All By Myself! he does a great job.. also what I think is awesome is that he's Dominican (like myself) and Dutch singing in spanish on dutch tv, so that's amazing!
