As Billy Joel sang “Only the good die young”. Freddie is a legend and was alive. He’d be thrilled we still adore him. ❤

White Queen live at Hammersmith Odeon 1975. It's spine tingling, the way Freddie's piano and Brian's guitar intertwine is magical. Freddie's vocals are amazing to the last note, as ever.

Going to say “It’s Late” again. News of the World is SUCH a good raw album. Also, if you want to see a crowd singing video? You HAVE to watch the Green Day concert from 2017 where the crowd spontaneously sang Bohemian Rhapsody while waiting for the band to take the stage. They had music playing on the empty stage before the concert started, and when a Bohemian Rhapsody started, the entire 60,000+ crowd started singing. And didn’t. Stop. They sang the ENTIRE THING! When I watch it, I usually start sobbing 2 minutes in, thinking, “Are you seeing this, Freddie? 25 years after your death and people are singing your song, every word, at an empty stage. That’s how much you are loved.”

I agree, this incredible man was taken away from us too soon. He died just 5 short years later. He had so much more music in him. I continue to wonder what he would have created, and the amazing new music he might have stamped on our souls. It is only lately that I have come to realize how many people did not know the band Queen or the man Freddie, but everyone knows theirs songs which are chanted in sporting events or listened to on radio and television. We miss you Freddie!

39 is what a lot of songs on the radio sound like today. Ed Sheeran does songs that sound like 39. Queen was so ahead of their time

I absolutely love this song. It might be my favorite Queen song. I say "might" because there are so many brilliant Queen songs which I love. Totally teared up at Freddie's "I still love you."

Love your reaction videos and agree with so many of your points. The times when the crowd sings gives us goosebumps and brings tears to my eyes. You've already done several versions of Love of My Life, but when you get some spare time, check out the Queen with Adam Lambert versions of this song. I especially like the one in Japan. [spoiler: Adam doesn't sing, it's only Brian]. The Japanese audience doesn't universally speak English, but they are spot on ... and crying the whole time. And, yes, it's hard not to feel cheated that Freddy might still be with us if only he had been born a decade or two later. On your comment about so many of the great artists dying young, I think part of what makes them great is an inner pain or loneliness that drives their music/art/acting but makes it difficult to for them to stick around with the rest of us. Anyway, thanks for the videos!

Rich, Thank you young man! I have watched you from your first time hearing Queen, and I absolutely have loved watching you become a Queen/ Freddie Mercury fan. I wish I could get my kids, (probably the same age as you) to be open minded enough to appreciate true music as you have been. You have done an outstanding job! Keep Rocking!!!

I second the request to listen to Freddie's "Exercises in Free Love" demo. It's just a tape of operatic singing that he made for Montserrat Caballe, to play for her and offer the song for her to sing. But Freddie's falsetto is amazing! The notes he's able to hit, OMG. You have to find Freddie's demo version tho, not the version sung by Caballe. Here's one link to the demo: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UZfqmQuEnsM.html

Have to echo the love for 'It's Late' (lyric video) - amazing song, one of my favourites. Also 'It's A Hard Life' (official video), 'Las Palabras De Amor' (Top Of The Pops, 1982), 'Tear It Up' (lyric video) & 'Let Me In Your Heart Again' (album version).

I agree with you. Great artists, actors etc. are taken from us way too soon. I’m starting to believe, because I’ve been thinking a lot too, that they are not meant to be around for a long time, for whatever reason. Maybe it’s to appreciate them more. Freddie Mercury is one person I could not appreciate anymore than I already do. His voice was magic, stage performance was outstanding, music is great, what more could you want from a band. Miss you Freddie RIP

Oh the most heartbreakingly beautiful one is a little trio he did, 2014 Hammersmith I think, where first they did a little singalong and he played You're My Best Friend (and at the end shouted "We miss you John!"), and then they did Love of My Life, and then '39. It's the ultimate feels trip.

If I can make some recommendations too, as being said Exercises of free Love, How Can I Go On, Golden Boy, In My Defence, In The Lap Of The Gods rvisited Hammersmith 1975, Innuendo, The Miracle,Seven Seas Of Rhye, Breakthru, Let Me in Your Heart Again, Time, etc. There's still so much to explore. And for being gone too soon? Definitely, It's horrific to see, that all these, I just say, overly talented and very beloved human beings are only for a short time on this earth to share their talent and experiences with us. It's a phenomenom that's quite hard to understand. And mostly because of gruesome illnesses, accidents or abuse in one form or another. As if being so special comes with the ultimate price of a short life. It's scary.

I know it will never be the same but there are several videos of Brian May singing Love of my Life and Freddie makes his way onto the projection screen and is just beautiful the impact. Queen + Adam Lambert are touring and I think Brian May still does this. If you get the opportunity to see them, it the closest you may may get to see Freddie. If I could I would in a heart beat. Lovely reaction. Always excited to see your reactions to Queen. You seem so humble and sincere.

Regarding special or talented people being taken too soon, I started to recommend "No one But You (Only the Good Die Young)", the song Brian wrote a few years after Freddie's death. But I remembered you reacted to it a couple of months ago. That was early in your Queen journey, so maybe it would be worth you giving it another listen. Even though it's for Fred, Brian said it could also be applied to Princess Diana (it was shortly after her death) or anyone else gone too soon. It also was the last video Brian, Roger & John made together. I know you don't like sad songs, but now that you know Queen better it might mean more to you now. And it is a beautiful song (& addresses what you were talking about). I love that you've become a fan & appreciate these wonderfully talented people who've meant so much to us fans for so many years. I also love it when you get goosebumps. It shows you really feel that magic they radiated. Makes me wish I could give you a hug.💙

You should go see Queen + Adam Lambert. They are touring the US this year and I’m sure they are coming to somewhere near you. Brian does an amazing version of this in their shows now with a “special guest”. I think you’d really enjoy it, I’ve seen them 3 times since 2017.

You mention how so many have been taken away too soon. It brings to mind the "27 Club" It is a list of famous people that all died at the age of 27. Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Robert Johnson, Brian Jones...to name a few.

Now you will have a whole different perspective of Classic Rock. Search for Green Day Queen, and select the camera angle from behind the drums. Sit back and see what your journey will become. Sincerely, Terry Fogarty, Original Fat Bottom Girl from Old HB NYC. BTW: Fat Bottom Girl & Bicycle Race are 2 Queen songs that are usually played back to back. Hmm so many greats do seem to die young. This is just my opinion and I'm tired so it might not make much sense. But I think a lot of them (geniuses in their own field) just aren't like us, they live more in their present. They seem to live for the moment and do whatever they feel. Because they can. And we can't so much because of work commitments, family, rules of society we live in etc. We're expected to behave lol. But they can live life on the edge and they have so many things available to them whenever they want it (sex, drugs etc) which when done to excess can be risky. I sometimes wonder if maybe subconsciously they don't worry much about life/death because they're living how they want to live and feel that they're making the most of it already. Whereas a lot of 'ordinary' people aren't necessarily and we feel like there's more we need to do or could be doing with our lives so we don't want our time to run out and feel like we've wasted it. Being a great singer/actor etc and dying a tragic premature death actually gives them immortality. I like the line in No-one But You (Only the good die young) 'they're only flying to close to the sun' I always feel that's a good way to put it. And because Mercury is the closest planet to the sun, it's perfect really ☺ anyway thanks for the great reaction as always xx
