Love my Kiwi Gen 3 straps!!! The silicone all around makes them feel super grippy and when I eventually have to change batteries, I don't have to take the whole grip off. Call me lazy, lol. I feel like it's worth the money despite there being cheaper alternatives out there. Great video. Was looking forward to your review. I didn't have any issues with the buckles digging into my skin at all. Review gets a "like" from me!
Thanks for the review. The AMVR grips have been great for me so far. No tracking issues and the buckle doesn’t bother me much since I run the grips pretty loose (or I just got used to it).
I did not like the those kiwi design ones on the quest 2 cause of the little buckle button thing but their Extended grips are my favorite quest 2 grips to date. Hope they can make those for the Quest 3
I have the meta ones because they work with the charging dock. I agree they are too expensive but they work really well and are well designed and made from good materials
I like that there is a charging dock with support for the strap... but i don't need the headset charging.... if there was a charging dock like it with only the controllers that are being charged and with support for the handstraps... instabuy!
Another fantastic and honest review of controller grips. My biggest concern is compatibility with the Meta charging dock; for $129 nothing can get in the way of its use. Sorry Kiwi
I have been using these for months now. I took the VR Cover strap cloth wraps off my Q2 VR Cover grip straps and put them on these. Works great and the buckle thing now longer is an issue.
@@youwouldntclickalinkonyout6236 I would say this is very dependent on personal needs. Some people just sweat a lot more easily then others and if they use the headset to workout this would be very nice to have.
The battery removal tab is a great idea. I use regular batteries since I get real good life out of them. But it would be sooo much easier to change them with that little tab.
You could DIY something like it with a piece of ribbon. I'd have to have my hands on the controller to know exactly how to fasten the ribbon to it, but it'd probably be pretty simple.
Got these a week or two ago. Love em since they feel like the kiwi extended grips for Q2. Just wish they were extended. The straps dont feel too bad. These will hold me over till the aubikas come out
Aubika will release their extended grip in spring 2024 or Q1 2024 they have drawstring tightening like quest 2 version of extended grip. or you can wait for kiwi.
I'm looking forward to the Aubika grips as I have the Aubika CyberCore which includes storage and a split magnetic charging cable for the grips. Aubika mentioned in an email to me that they will be complementary for CyberCore owners. I hope they follow through on that. I'm currently using the AMVR controller grips, and they work fine for me.
I got my in last week and started testing them out after doing a box opening and I working on my review for them. Hopefully that'll be released at the end of the week.
Why don't you swap the strap of the HiBloks with the Kiwi design strap? You would have the kiwi design silicone grip, with the fast battery swap and a more comfortable strap and your wrist.
I find I really need the battery door on the Quest 3 grips. Quest 2, the batteries outlived the dinosaurs. Quest 3, I don't touch it for several days, come back, and find the controllers have drained a noticable amount! I make sure I don't leave any buttons pressed either so they don't stay active. When I pick them up and press a button, I get the activation flash so I have no idea why they drain so much not in use :( I only have 1 set of controllers and Quest 3 so I can't really compare to find out.
These are just a near identical version of the AMVR grips but inferior. Completely pointless entry to the market from Kiwi. The difference in attachment method (Transparent ring that you can feel vs the plastic nub that the silicone plugs into) is the main difference and very much in favour of AMVR. Pretty odd that they come with an better review overall compared to the AMVR ones.
