In my 30 years of taking antidepressants, since childhood, I never met a psychiatrist help me get off meds. Despite the massive amount of info out there on the dangers of withdrawal, the attitudes are dismissive and uniformed. The last one was an integrative, holistic psych who prescribed yet another-after a period of natural methods such as all the supplements you advise here. I stayed on it for 5 years for no reason. I found withdrawal groups online to help me open the capsules and titrate off every few weeks. It took “only” 4 months - in some of these groups it is taking people 2 - 3 years to taper off. Until that point I didn’t even know the extent of withdrawal, the shared experiences of others were shocking. The risks like this are never discussed upon prescription - there is no informed consent. It’s always a vague “don’t try to get off cold turkey” . In my experience they simply have no idea how you are going to get off. Most say 1-2 weeks no big deal. Then when going through hell you go back and they put you back on or a different one. You have to do it without them. Support groups of people who have done it are the only way. I watched my father be destroyed by these horrible meds and maltreatment of the industry over a lifetime, eventually he just died in a psychotic state, who will know how much damage was caused in efforts to “heal”. In my case I was able to free myself from the nightmare and begin to own my own mind. I did a regime of supplements to help the process of withdrawal, it was about a year before I stopped having the severe suicidal and panic attacks from the detox. The issue people have with their doctors is that you are trapped in a cycle of “illness based” symptoms, never medication based. I’m glad that these channels are out there to help educate people on natural remedies- diet/exercise do make a huge difference, depending on one’s situation. I’m 3 years off at age 46 and will never go back. As a young girl coming of age during Prozac nation, I feel lucky to have survived the “cutting edge science” of my generation and the long term suffering of the antidepressant experience. Thank you for the channel, people need alternatives and information on safety to make informed decisions about their own minds and souls. As any psych veteran will tell you, handing over your emotional agency is a trauma in itself.

My thoughts exactly - nobody - not even functional doctors - will help take me off the Cym one which I think is the group you mention. They force us to DIY it -

@@DrJanelleSinclair Hi, I’m just wondering if there’s a test that measures serotonin and tyrosine in the brain? If so, What is the name of it?

Absolutely! I was put on a keto diet and I did not do well on it at all. I lost so much weight and it made my anxiety worse and I feel like my blood sugar went way too low like I had hypoglycemia. After 5 solid months of doing it perfectly, I was way too thin, terribly anxious, shaky, irritable, and I had the worst pain on the right side of my neck and up the back of my head.

Why were you put on it?
@tiffanyguldi7564
@tiffanyguldi7564 Год назад
@@biancahotca3244 Because I was prediabetic. My insulin was a 13 and it shouldn’t be over 5. I do better with lowering my carbs., but I can’t cut them out completely because it stresses my body too much.

@@tiffanyguldi7564 Interesting, usually a weight loss is good for prediabetics, but maybe you were too hungry to stay on it? Or usually it really stabilizes blood sugars and gets rid of diabetes completely.

Thank you Marla for joining your mum! What a brilliant idea 👍👌. You did so well, even with all these bigs words 😊. I have a question for the next video : What do you think about the failsafe diet for people with anxiety /panic attacks? Does it help them? Mireille
@DrJanelleSinclair
@DrJanelleSinclair 4 года назад
Thanks Mireille. The failsafe diet can be very helpful for some people with anxiety and panic attacks. I don't recommend it unless I see indications that they would do well on it. It's a very restrictive diet. I totally think avoiding preservatives etc are excellent, however having to exclude the fruit, vege and spices with this diet aren't great. Saying all that, I know that it can be extremely helpful for some. It's just not the first thing I would recommend.

Good day. I'm currently on second week of ket diet. I started to wean of 20mg Paxil. 1 day on and 1 day off currently. I'm currently experiencing some dizziness and ligh headed that is causing anxiety. Is it safe to continue weaning or go back on them till 6 weeks keto diet over. I understand that the effects of withdrawal are what I'm currently experiencing. Please kindly advise Dr. Sinclair

I'm quite surprised about your view on keto and fasting... Dr Mindy Pelz talks a lot about how fasting and keto actually raises seratonin and bdnf in the brain. It also has the benefit of autophagy.

It's not that I'm against it. It's just a warning for people. Not everything is right for every body.
