the concept is just so wack like encouraging people to fill their every waking moment by consuming content instead of just like taking a breath, idk kinda weird
It's overload. I don't like mixing my work/errands time with watching TV/Gaming. I like to focus on one thing at a time. If you try to fit in TV shows during work you'll be alot less productive. Just punch thru work and then Veg out afterwards. Guilt free consumption.
That golden-arm serie is so Bojack Horseman-ish, I can almost ear Princess Carolyn pitch the whole thing 💀 with all her tong twister to make it sound even more ludicrous lmao
Isn't the entire point of gold that it's non reactive. Like that's why it's such a valued metal. Because it doesn't react to your body or detoriate. Is this not commonly known.
A quick google search reveals that some natural gold compounds will break down in the body and can have toxic effects-the show is probably leaning into that. The dude made a (presumably) functioning prosthetic arm in his garage, and his late wife terrorizes him post mortem. The show’s not exactly claiming to be realistic here lol
Dajiyah Mcae as much as I'd like to agree with you, the doctor literally says, "as long as your body keeps on absorbing the gold *through your skin*" so yeah that's not right
The whole marketing for that each episode is short for “in between” moments, but counter argument to that is: have these investors never heard of the Pause button? Quibi holds zero interest to me lmfao. It’s like television only just discovered RU-vid videos for the first time. 😂

*It's like television only just discovered RU-vid and totally misunderstood what it was or what its appeal was
When Quibi was first advertised I thought it was for a really fast delivery service like postmates or smth but then I found out it was TV and I was 1000% less interested
Rebekah Grace I thought they took shows already around and summarized each episode for people who didn’t have time to see every episode. I didn’t know they were originals... that’s just cheesy
When I first saw a commercial for this, I legitimately thought it was a joke. Like some Funny or Die or SNL skit making fun of all the streaming services.
Yeah,but..Most gold wedding rings are mostly made out of a partial gold-alternative metal (like silver, nickel and/or bronze) and/or similar combined alloys-not to mention that wedding rings are pretty much small in size (albeit depending on how large or not in size that the person/ring recipient's finger/hand is,apparently)-it wouldn't be much of a threat, health wise,if that were to-Ahem,REALISTICALLY-happen,soo.. But,in some weird way,I think-So I guess that whatever miss-Infinity gauntlet-gold arm lady's got is either a serious Gold allergy (which I don't think is a thing-But people DO have certain allergic reactions to metals such as nickel, for instance in real life-though..) or *_SHOCKING TWIST_* ( _A.K.A Spoiler alert..!_), the husband-knowing that gold _technically being a soft, malleable metal, and thus would be practically useless, let alone effective, for a highly-technologically advanced robotic arm/hand prosthetic like the one he made for his old lady/honey in the series here,unfortunately?_- wouldn't be capable-not to mention,REALLY HEAVY in weight (let ALONE ALSO EXPENSIVE-Gold don't come cheap,y'know?!)-to make it into a suitable replacement for his pretty (but oddly vain,yet-) caring wife,so dude _must've had to improvise_ by melting/smelting and mixing up the gold with another metal or two (Nickel,lead-even an alloy of silver and zinc perhaps;gotta keep it cheap) in-order for the arm to be BOTH lightweight, durable AND still look aesthetically-pleasing to his missus while staying functionable-and THUS accidentally POISONING her by mistake either by HER immune system not taking the introduction of the non-gold sections/composition of the alloy into her body seriously (LIKE I mentioned-There are such things AS both metal allergies and scary/oddly,metal Poisonings, such as lead and silver/nickel in real life, for instance!) and/or she was CLEARLY suffering from sort of metal poisoning without her/their knowledge,of course! Seriously..
Wild Akwatypus also the amount of physical therapy she'd seriously need to go through as well..I don't care if it's a gold or gold-nickel-plated aluminum-carbon alloy robo-prosthetic arm/hand-She'd still need time to medically and physically master that thing,y'know..?!
The market is literally so oversaturated with streaming services. and yet its STILL hard to find some movies or shows without paying for them individually
This is exactly like Arrested Development when Tobias refused to remove his hair implants and started dying, but if he just took ‘em out he’d be fine lmao
it’s just so cringeworthy. but would anyone really expect anything less? that part where the guys like “WE DO NOT HAVE AS MUCH MONEY AS YOU????????” in the chrissy show was more gold than that one lady’s arm.
Mari Anne I’m from NC and I’ve definitely heard it lol. I remember a camp counselor or troop leader or something telling us that story at Girl Scout camp 10+ years ago
If I had a gold arm, everyone within a mile radius would hunt me down and sell my arm and my kidneys (and maybe my liver) to the black market for like a billion dollars
i am from michigan, and the golden arm legend is actually something that kept me up at night, i'd look outside as a kid and be scared because the ghost of the man with a golden arm was still looking for those who robbed his grave. genuinely terrifying. but now i look back on it and laugh - needless to say i am shocked that a quibi was made on the ghost story that freaked me out as a child
oh man, that's the actress from Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. She's really great, but damn that was bad haha. You didn't have to do that to yourself, Catherine. That writing is baaaad
I remember hearing about the gold arm story when I was young. I didn't have any issues with it. But now that I know gold is soft as hell, heavy, and not that toxic,, the gold arm makes no sense lol
Deandra, from Most Popular Girls in Highschool, did the whole bionic arm thing first and definitely set the standards high for that trend... Just sayin'. 👀👀
stumbled upon your channel because your Lost Art of Album Sequencing video showed up in my recommended, but it's the knx outro music that made me subscribe
Okay I'm from Michigan and that whole time I was like "what kind of bs Alabama story is this?" and I just..... What Michigan is this from cuz it isn't mine
I’m from NC and I’ve definitely heard it, so I was legitimately wondering if it was from around here... I was really surprised to see it was from Michigan
So as an Australian I'm lowkey annoyed about that gold arm story 😆 cause I know for a fact that that thing would be so heavy she would not be able to lift that off the ground 😆
Him putting the ad right where it said we will be right back when talking about an app that has a copious amount of ads in it is supreme level humor that can’t be easily found on this platform and I appreciate it.
I can’t imagine watching any of these shows for even a minute, much less ten. And that golden arm story is so beyond ridiculous who the hell approved that?
So “The Stranger” ISN’T a movie that’s coming out? It’s just some short clip?? I’VE BEEN LOOKING FOR WHEN IT’D COME OUT BECAUSE IT ACTUALLY SEEMED LIKE IT’D BE GOOD
sometimes i wish when i bought my pair of raycons, the company knew about it and stopped putting all the ads in my face like damn, yall already convinced me! i saved up money for months and finally got the thing and yall still telling me to buy it
I remember I discovered you through the Nash Grier rant video and now 6 years and some Good Enough merch later....Nash Grier's married to a black woman and has a child, you're a full time RU-vidr, and I'm boutta get my bachelor's in computer science damn life is wild
Wait that golden arm story is from Michigan? I've never heard of that story before. Then again, I don't really know of any folklore we have hare. It is interesting how much we've been in the media lately though. It's also amusing seeing you take this entire app apart.
Had to search this video again because I couldn't remember if Quibi was actually real or I made it up. The whole platform was a bad idea from the jump. Did nobody stop to consider things like what Nathan said at 10:35 when planning this thing?
