Thank you so much for doing a nativity scene. There aren’t many RU-vidrs that will touch that subject. It is the reason for Christmas after all. I’d never heard that about lemon juice. Sounds like a great project to do with grandchildren.😊
Diane, I love everything about this video! The nativity scene is very special and peaceful but each and every one of your paintings is beautiful. Thank you.
Thank you so much Carolyn! So glad you are still enjoying the channel. I do so very much appreciate your each and every comment, even if I don't get round to responding know that I have read it! Best wishes for the upcoming festive season xxx
Hi Diane, I've enjoyed watching you paint, as I always do. Thank you so much! I will look forward to making my Christmas cards this year. I've learned so much from you as a beginner. Everything about your tutorial is done in a very relaxed way. All your paintings are just beautiful. Thank you!
These are so beautiful!! I’m going to try these and cross my fingers. I keep noticing things that I need to practice (lighter brush strokes for thinner lines) and things I need to experiment with, such as how watery the paint needs to be in order to get a good splatter that is still pigmented enough to show up. Also need to experiment with how much paint is on the brush to make fine lines. I had to laugh when you mentioned that an artist can never have too much space! I’m constantly telling my husband that I need more space for my yarn, wool, paper crafts, spinning wheels, loom, sewing machine, fabric, and now art supplies! 😂 We once lived in a house that I had the entire basement for my creative space. It was glorious! It did, however, spoil me for any homes we’ve had since where I’ve needed to conserve space and stay organized. Is it bad to admit that I hate having to stay organized while I’m creating? 😄 Ah well. At least I have some dedicated space for creating! Thanks for sharing your painting with us!💙
Oh yes Karma, not having enough space is very inhibiting I find. I have a nice studio which used to be massive but recently it seems to have shrunk. Something to do with the two cats and dog that live here, as well as all the paraphernalia to do with the studio video production ... ah well, it's my little paradise! So glad you are enjoying the channel! Best wishes for the upcoming festive season xxx
Ah yes, the cats. I’ve been meaning to ask you about that! Do yours try to interfere with your painting time? Mine is determined to see what I’m doing and get me to pay attention to her. She’ll try to chew my paint brushes, sniff the wet paint, walk across my paper, knock things off my desk, etc.. She only does this while I’m sitting at my desk trying to paint or sketch. If I put her on my lap she immediately snuggles in and I’m stuck petting her until she’s had enough … which can take quite a while. And it’s not like I don’t hold her during the rest of the day. We have snuggle sessions at least a couple of times a day. She is such a sweetheart, but can be very determined when she wants to be held. 😄 How on earth do you manage with all of yours?!
Ha! We clearly are of the same era, as I too remember lemon juice mystery code writing! I also remember turning the paper a bit brown with the flame too close to the paper. Love the tree card especially!
🐦 these are all three perfect to my eye for Christmas. My favorite is the last one! It actually makes me feel the silent crisp, moon lit forest. Beautiful and my favorite color scheme too 💞 thank you
You do make me laugh when you say you should be doing something else,I can just imagine someone sitting at the airport waiting to be picked up,haha, it was a beautiful day in Cornwall today if you like painting rough seas, the white waves and an emerald sea,I always think if you painted the colour of some seas I've witnessed no one would believe it,and that was the case today stunningly beautiful, I think I'm to lazy to make my own Xmas cards especially as I've found some old ones in a draw but who can afford a stamp these days, bah humbug 😂 x
You're right Anni, it's dreadfully expensive now in England isn't it. Do you remember when you could put a 3d stamp on if you left the envelope unsealed, just tucked in, instead of the normal 4d rate!!
Hey Diane 👋 these are such beautiful little paintings and perfect for a Christmas card. My favorite was the purple one (it’s my favorite color) once again thank you for sharing and I’m looking forward to seeing the next one 😊💜🎨
Amazing tutorial as usual. I'm not sure I could pick one as a favourite. I love them all. I didn't know about the lemon juice. I would like to try that out with my daughter. 🥰
Hi this is Marj Clinton not George Clinton, new tablet and forgot to change the picture. I love kurataki pants and I love how you use them. The nativity scene is my favorite and I've been practicing making different scenes using the kuritake paints. I just received the art nouveau set. Have you checked them out yet? I love them I am excited to use them on black watercolor paper. That'll be tomorrow. So I'm going to close and tell you how much I appreciate you and go to sleep so I can wake up and paint to my little heart's content tomorrow. Hope you have a great weekend
Hi Marj, thanks so much for your lovely comment, so glad that you’re enjoying the channel. No I haven’t come across that set of paints. I will be checking it out now! Hope you enjoy your painting session today, Best wishes for the season!
really lovely as usual thank you, but what happened to the church on the third one? I thought you said you were doing a nativity, a cottage and a church? xx
Hi Bessie, I was just looking on the works to see what it might be that you had bought - was it the Daler Rowney starter set for £10? If so, I think that would be reasonable for your first trials in painting but you will soon find it limiting. If you’re interested I can let you have some suggestions for your next step. Can I ask which paper you bought to start with? Because the paper is as important as the paint.
@@DianeAntoneStudio We are in St Nicolas Des Eaux which is classed as Plumeliau/Bieuzy. Ours is a holiday home but we are there for Christmas. I am busy painting cards using your tips and ideas 😊
I didn't mean to imply he wasn't! Climate change exists, I don't know whether it's man-made or divinely controlled. Not meant to be a political statement x
In France Christmas is an intimate family celebration. People don’t decorate their houses outside, they don’t have big parties with friends. That’s done at new year’s time. Quite different from in the US and UK. When we first came here to live we used to give Xmas cards but soon realised it was thought strange!!
