Sangria Ingredients:
4 Apple slices
3 Lemon slices
3 Orange slices
6 cloves
2 Cinnamon sticks
One 750 ml bottle of Red wine
4 oz. (120ml) Spanish brandy
2 oz. (60ml) Orange liqueur
1 oz. (30ml) Simple syrup (50:50 ratio)
1 small bottle (5.5 oz. = 160 ml) of soda water
Method:
Start with the solids:
Cut the apple, lemon, and orange slices and stab one orange slice with the cloves.
Add all these solids into a pitcher (Pitcher size 80 oz. minimum) with two
cinnamon sticks.
Next pour the red wine, the brandy, the orange liqueur, the simple syrup and
stir.
Let it sit for a few hours in a cool area and when you are ready to serve it add ice to the pitcher and top it with a small bottle of soda water.
Pour yourself a glass over ice and garnish it with some of the fruit from the pitcher.
For a single serve: 1 apple slice, 1 lemon slice, 1 Orange slice, 1 clove, ¼ Cinnamon stick, 4 oz (120 ml) Red wine ¼ oz. (7.5ml) Spanish brandy, 1 tbs of Orange liqueur, and a splash of soda.

Making my first Sangria in 3 days and these helped a lot! Loved the energy. And "expert instruction for everyday consumption" is top notch! haha

Much more appealing than the incomparable "hunch punch" we made in a big Igloo cooler, cira 1985!

Can you mix everything- except for the wine- ahead of time & store it in a glass jar? I'm looking for a ready-to-go sangria mix that can be combined with wine & drank on the spot.
@MasterYourGlass
@MasterYourGlass Год назад
You can do that only if you must. The whole practice of sangria is flavoring the wine, so if you pour in the wine at the last minute, it has not been flavored yet with the infusion of the fruits and herbs. Hope this answer helps! Thanks for stopping by.

I like to add cherries to my sangria. Are there any fruits which you would avoid adding to a sangria?
@MasterYourGlass
@MasterYourGlass 3 года назад
Thanks for the comment. I would not avoid any fruit. I would just avoid too much of any fruit. Adding no more than one cup maximum of a fruit for every bottle of wine ensures that there is no overpowering flavor from that fruit.

Perfect flavor for sangria Maraschino I think.

Probably just don't mix contrasting flavors like lemon and blueberry or something of that nature

Is there any reason to squeeze the fruit to express more of their juices or no?
@MasterYourGlass
@MasterYourGlass Год назад
Good question! You really don’t want the juice, you just want the flavor of the fruit extracted. If you put in the juice it will not only make the cocktail too week, it will also overpower it with the flavors of the juice. A good sangria has a whisper of fruitiness. Thanks for watching!

I call mine over-proofed with pineapple rum, mango rum, dark rum, triple sec, peach schnapps, peach slices, orange slices and sweet red wine in a big pitcher with ice - no club soda.
@MasterYourGlass
@MasterYourGlass 7 месяцев назад
Sounds really tasty. Do you need the peach schnapps when you also have real peach slices?
@armlovesmetal1036

@@MasterYourGlass Yes of course. Schnapps adds an extra kick. I am thinking of making it for Thanksgiving.
