I think it s a nice thing that the wifi is set the way it is on the duet. Because it is completely separate from the firmware of the board. This means it s a set it and forget it one time stop. Now every time you have to upgrade the board firmware you don t have to re configure wifi.
I, As you might remember have had nothing but grief with my Ender 5 Plus's with the BTT tat running Marlin. Turns out it wasnt just my lorry drivers brain messing up. 3 technicians took 6 weeks to get it actually printing!!! They were so happy when i picked it up as they had quoted £85 all in expecting a simple flash and set up. But, a couple of weeks after i got it home with no messing just manual levelling and leave it alone it started acting up again and now its collecting dust again. A friend of mine has a E3 running the duet2 and reprap so im going to buy a Duet set up as i like how its all done. The kingroon i brought to tide me over had the usual extruder/hotend issues which i binned and replaced with a Creality Efit extruder and the Spider v2 hot end, Its been a peach ever since. Watch the first layer and leave it running, Perfect everytime... On a cheap as chips KP3s!!! Ive had my son using the print room so my home build super long bedslingers been on hold but Hes moved out again so one of these duets going in that too. Happy days.
I have a V-King 400 with Duet 3 and got a Rep Rap FW image from Roy and only had to change the settings for my screen, I know you did not like your V-King but I have had nothing but success with my build and is the only printer I have never had to upgrade although there are optional upgrades available
Hey, do you think there is a way you could do more videos about Duet? Or reprap firmware on its own. Something like variables in SS for reprap or conditional gcod? I find that reprap is lacking tutorials on RU-vid or even on Google thus making it very hard for people like me ( that get machines preconfigured with Duet boards) changing minor stuff without going trough 1xxx forums or Not maintained guides. Maybe do a tutorial on how to configure input shaper on Duet?
@@RolohaunWell, their boards are FCC certified. That's expensive. On the flip side, I bought a BTT board and it was DOA. The documentation was freaking TERRIBLE while the developer of Duet3D boards AND the developer of the reprapfirmware was giving me feedback when I was asking for advice when I was hitting hardware limitations on a duet board. Price difference is small, has a warranty, and you're supporting the development of RRF. You absolutely get what you pay for
@BGraves yes I agree with that, I have never had any issues with BTT boards, fystec or MKS. I have used clone duet board once and it was OK. If you have the money to spend, genuine is always a safe bet
