Another really good 'How to'. I was under the illusion that 'the thinner the tape, the better control'. Hence, guilty of using 1mm width tape, having the exact problem that you've shown. The mystery is solved! As for masking spherical parts, your method is fantastic. There I was, saying that aftermarket masking set was necessary for your Anson build. All you need is a few decades of experience in making models. Once again, thank you Jason!
Lovely stuff. I HATE masking - I always feel I am on the edge of disaster, ie scratching - but you have made it seem possible to achieve wonders. Thanks for another great video.
Great video my friend and a fantastic tutorial the 3 methods you used were well explained the liquid mask is a great idea and definitely makes life easier thanks for sharing this video and keep them coming 🙏👍
There's a very good masking liquid by VMS (Vantage Modelling Solutions). It comes in a plastic bottle with a nozzle. It's very handy for masking small objects like canopy centres and such. The liquid doesnt go gummy inside the bottle, as is often the case. Just remenber to shake the bottle before the use, and clean the nozzle. Also lacquers can be sprayed. No affiliation, just a recommendation from a content user.
Even your quick tip is almost 23 minutes, and that's how we like it. Your thorough and long videos are something that are not common, most concentrate on the entertainment value, not being educative.
I have one model its metal model of jetplane bame Galeb 4 manufactured in m city in 80’s. Factory made lot of models one piece dur aluminum and mine need restauration. Do you actually CUT/trim the tapes edge once you've peeled it from the roll before you lay it on the clear part,as not all edges are perfectly straight,I also put a light underneath before trimming it down
@@ModelkitStuff I have the infini cutting mat set,it's amazing just how ragged the tamiya tape edges can be,and the fact you can cut any width length and shape is a great time saver.
