I want Saber to take a look at Monster in Paris so bad. Synopsis: A explosion caused by a delivery man (Raoul) and his projectionist friend (Emile) after messing about in a scientist's greenhouse accidentally creates a 6-foot tall singing flea that escapes into the Streets of Paris of 1910.
Yeah, our province’s premier has problems with the movie and is trying to spend our budget by suing Netflix or something. My family and I were cracking up at how ludicrous the situation was.
The evil oil field in this animated romp looks remarkably like Alberta's oil-sands territory, but the story tellers go out of their way to depict every inch of Canadian soil the Bigfoot family travels on is all happiness, trees and townsfolk proud of their 5-storey statues of wildlife. All the evil is in America.
The mom is still a bad character in a way, I mean, she gets kidnapped in both movies, in this one she gets kidnapped offscreen even. Ok, it's not her fault, maybe the writers are sexist. I think the writers of the sequel are even more sexist than the writers of the first movie. In the sequel, the female animals (and the bird, even tho he's a guy) stay at home, and the mom gets kidnapped quickly and offscreen, and the girl Adam likes isn't developed and simply exists to be his love interest. At least in the first movie the female animals are there most of the time and the mom at least got kidnapped on screen and she tried to escape and she even shot the bad guy with a tranq at the end. But in the sequel? Nah. So not only does the sequel suck and imply oil companies are evil, it's also SEXIST! Yay! 🤦♂️ (Please tell me if I'm overthinking this)
I live in Saskatchewan, the province beside Alberta. There was some exaggeration about the fracking but it's hilarious how butthurt that guy from Alberta is over a Netflix cartoon.
@The Spatza did you really have to post this on every single comment? I respect your opinion but you can’t just shove it down people’s throats. Keep your opinions to yourself please :)
Yeah, fracking is bad though, if it makes your water become flammable then that is a health concern, especially since apparently the water has been negatively affecting pregnant women
@@dames01 He/it has been around for a while now. All we can do is ignore it I guess. That said I don't know why someone with an anti-religious bent picked Saber's video of all things.
The Spatza is an obvious troll, sad that this is probably going to make all atheists look like they are awful and trying to forcefully convert even though atheism isn't exactly a religion. This dude has been spamming the exact same thing on other comments on this feed just report him as a bot
I prefer the first one, this movie is more of a follow up rather then a new tale to expand on the universe and characters. Still a good film in my opinion, but it could have done more.
It's frustrating. It doesn't help Kenny is an idiot. The funny thing too is that we don't even use fracking. It has nothing to do with what we're doing in the oil sands. DX Edit: As a note I'm fairly conservative. But even I hate Kenny.
I understand youre confusion Saberspark, I'll try to explain things to the best I can 🙂 . Belgium has diffrent languages and one of the two main one's is French so what you where probablly trying to say whas that the film whas made by the French speaking people of Belgium AKA Belgium-France or something along the line, I hope this clears thing up at least a bit 😁.
Since my parents and I make our Sunday dinners Netflix Movie Night, we ended up watching this one week and enjoying it. I was in laugh filled disbelief when it turned out the villain was Texan, it's no wonder he wanted the bomb to be called The Big Daddy, he expects EVERYTHING to be bigger! :P The most sane person in the entire movie was the employee listing off the logistics of the plan, bar none. And when the villain was posing in front of the green screens, I couldn't help but think of the South Park episodes where BP was apologizing for everything! I'll definitely watch Son of Bigfoot if I can, I really liked the visuals and overall message of this movie.
Considering that the writers of these Bigfoot movies seem to be sexist cuz the mom gets kidnapped and barely does anything in both movies, I doubt she'll get a movie.
Bigfoot 666: Bigfoot becomes a furry and satan gets nightmares because not even he can watch ti and then he kills himslefs and everybody is happy, but then bill cipher appears and converts everybody into his puppets' nd then everybody deleceres a supernatural nuclear war on him
I watched a tiny bit of it with my siblings and got mad because I'm pretty sure the protag and the love interest barely talked and got together after the climax anyway.
@The Spatza um where the fuck did this religion stuff come from? It's a comment about how stupid oil tech is for getting mad at a movie about how obviously bad oil is and you're over here like "yeah but have you considered god isn't real and you're an idiot for believing in him?"
Anyone else see the irony of a French studio making a movie with a "green energy" message considering how disastrous their own energy situation has been for the last few decades?
Slappy gotta nappy cuz his brains not happy This movie is meh, I guess I really don’t care Slappy spitting bars, drivin in cars Polluting the environment, vpn advertisement I’m tired. I’m going to bed.
Fun fact: In the late '60s and early '70s, the US Atomic Energy Commission genuinely did propose using low-yeild nuclear weapons for oil and gas drilling, and went so far as to conduct three underground tests, one in New Mexico, two in Colorado. The theory was that the detonation would break up the rock of hard to drill oil and gas deposits, which could then flow freely into the cracks and chambers left by the explosion, which would then pumped to the surface, similar to modern hydraulic fracking, but much bigger. It was part of Project Plowshare, a program investigating potential peaceful uses of nuclear weapons. The program failed due to intense public opposition. I don't know if the people who made this movie were referencing this or not, who knows? One of the cancelled tests was in Alberta, maybe that's why that guy was so pissed?
Went to watch it before finishing this vid, and Arlo's character upset me so much 😭 he looks so lovable, but he is arguable the most evil dude in the film, he was EXCITED to mount drones to try and kill Adam and co and bragged about blowing up his foster care, lmao One thing I notice about the Bigfoot films, the villains have no qualms with straight up murdering their opposition, in quite brutal ways. The first film had the hair dude lock Adam in a burning car and throw it off a cliff, and in this one they throw him down a mineshaft and then throw down a minecart, then try to blow him up, like DAMN TL:DR; Arlo is FOR SURE a serial killer wanted on multiple warrants, I just know it
I see where Jason Kenney (the premier of Alberta) is coming from with ths whole oil thing, it is a big source of industry for the province and it employs thousands of people. But suing Netflix over a movie is possibly the stupidest way to try to fight it, and by sticking by that ill-fated lawsuit he's not gonna get much support for it
Alberta does take damn good care of the land too. My dad works in the safety division and he's gone out to check on pipelines to make sure everything is running smoothly and safely, and not messing up the area. Alberta does take care to make sure nature isn't badly affected, unlike American and Saudi Arabian companies. THAT SAID, Jason Kenny is a joke and I despise that man. 10 bucks says he didn't even watch the movie to see that it was about AMERICAN COMPANIES. I hate him so much
@@tinymittensdesign I one hundred percent agree with you about Jason Kenney being a joke, and the oil sector in Alberta does do quite a bit for the environment, the best example I know is in the oil sands, where for those that don't know, the oil has naturally contaminated the ground do that no plant life can grow there, and all oil companies do is strain the oil out of the sand and put the ground, dirt and other soil back
I really enjoyed your voice in this video. You sound more relaxed and conversational instead of like you're reading a written script. I love your content keep up the great work!
I love these weird cashgrab-looking animated movie sequels that go all out and big concept and honestly tell a decent story and message. Trolls World Tour, This, etc.
this is one of the movies that ive actually seen that was reveiwed by saberspark and i think the only problem i had with it was the voice acting, (mostly the dads) they kind just sounded, weird idk
The “That’s not how fracking works” complaints are valid, like, it’s a big misconception that there’s explosives involved (there aren’t). But honestly, I don’t mind that being how it’s portrayed. Understanding the actual reason why fracking is bad requires a mid to high level geology education and I don’t think a kids movie would benefit from stopping mid plot to explain hydrology and pressure regimes. There are other mining types that involve explosives that are just as bad, so it’s kinda weird, but yeah. It is what it is for me.
In the first one the part that always confused me is the dad said he turned into Bigfoot because he had a high amount of Neanderthal DNA and a genetic mutation what always particular confused me is last I checked Neanderthals can’t cast heal spells or talk to animals I know it’s just a movie but still just wanted to get this out there
I live in belgium, its a country not from france or anything! In places they speak French of cource but its a famous country where waffles, frites and the smurfs come from
The French company behind this (Charades) also made The Queen's Corgi, as we established, but they also collaborated with Toho and Mamoru Hosoda's Studio Chizu in Japan on making Mirai. They released Bigfoot Family this year and they are also releasing Belle (Ryu to Sobakasu no Hime) this year. It is slated for 2021 at least in Japan through Toho.
It's a great movie to watch with family and to be able to tolerate as well compared to others. I had a movie night with my nephew and he was enthralled with it and I was also able to watch it without wanting to get on my phone for other entertainment. So it was the right amount of entertainment for me to be able to enjoy it too.
Alberta is VERY pro-oil. During the last Canadian election, they got angry at people from the province of Newfoundland and Labrador for voting in favour of the liberal party despite a lot of people from that province working in the oil sands in Alberta. For context, in Canada, the Conservative party is mostly known for being pro-oil and strict on immigration (immigration and climate change tend to be the focus for our political parties when voting).
As an alaskan can confirm, we do have weird oil companies with green colored logos pretending to be good. The bomb plan was probably based off a real event. (look up Project Chariot) We also have a surprisingly high volume of crazy Texans. So hey, pretty accurate movie I guess
Haha, my video go to around 0:40 where you said, "The movie upset--" and then it just flat out crashed my RU-vid app, lol! That's probably a sign of some kind.
I really liked it! The main theme was done much better and more serious than the originals "Hair Gene" business bs. I also liked how they thought through how the world would react to this genetically created Big Foot guy.
Here's a tip, always watch the subbed version and not the dubbed. The film is French and it was dubbed into English. Or it was a Schrodinger's Dub where the English and French audio languages are both the original languages and the dubs, some films like Ghost in the Shell 1995 (Japanese and English) and The Little Prince 2015 (French and English) are like this. For foreign films, the English dubs are usually not that good and subs are my preferred version. Subs are the better way of watching foreign films, as Bong Joon-ho would say.
Bigfoot against texan fracking was very interestingly timed. A belgium company doing a movie for netflix about what's going on in the us does seem convenient. Well, i guess if you need oil and oil products, it's best to do it right on your own soil with the regulations and practices in place using your own workforce, rather than get it offshore from who knows where. But that's another story.
