The second Land Before Time is actually pretty good, it's the one I remember most from childhood. I actually had a plushie of the baby T-Rex I would carry around with me religiously, the character's name escapes my mind right now, I want to say Chomper? It's been awhile since I've seen it, but I remember thoroughly enjoying it. Likewise, An American Tail, another excellent Don Bluth animated film, is a classic, but a good argument can be made that Fievel Goes West is better. I'm inclined to agree, I enjoyed it a lot more than the original, although the original is a bit more timeless.
For me, this also means that folks from places where animated productions are never made get a chance. I am hoping that we get to see some indie animations coming from places like Greenland, Aruba, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, Ecuador, Uganda, Jamaica, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Laos, Andorra, Luxembourg, Faroe Islands, Mozambique, Grenada, Haiti, Curacao, Paraguay, etc.
Jimmy Neutron - Jimmy Neutron boy genius. Timmy Turner - Timmy Turner Boi this quote crack me up since I first seen it for the first Time of My Life 🤣🤣🤣🤣
So as someone who makes an indie animation series (Broats), thanks for this vid. I’m someone who also works in the industry, and over the years have seen the shift from celebrating and taking risks on new ideas to becoming outright antagonistic to them. I love all the out-there stuff I’m seeing on the web now. And I’ve seen a good share of interesting unaired pilots and behind the scenes stuff that never made it to air thanks to the networks. It’s funny seeing a lot of it leak lately. In any case, working on indie stuff is extremely liberating given what the studio system currently is.
While I enjoy the sentiment that YT has the potential to be the next beeg indie animation platform, given that self made creators and YT partners could collaborate together, YT Originals/Red has already proven that YT/Google would be JUST as bad if not worse then the companies we have already.
