So many cute quilts! I have 2 sons, 5 grandsons, and 5 great grandsons. I am always on the hunt for boyish quilts! I hit the jackpot with your video this evening! So enjoyed John being on the show. Hope you bring him on more often.
It's nice to see the first introduction to John, and hear stories of how he and Fran started crafting. I told my hubby I would make him a quilt. Thank you for the ideas.
Fun to see John guest staring on this old show! Good to have a guy's opinion on the quilts though I didn't get the impression he did the fabric picking lol. When he said a young boy or girl would like the quilt I thought or a Mom who's into cartoons hahaha
So glad you found Fabric Cafe! We post a new video every Tuesday and Thursday at 4:00 central. Be sure to subscribe to receive notification of new videos. Donna
The way you choose fabric & discuss the features simplifies the whole process. Seeing the different patterns of fabric is definitely 'eye candy', especially during this unsettling time in our lives. Thanks for brightening my day with your happy videos!
I am absolutely delighted to have found your channel. I dislike when little pieces are incorporated. Not my thing. I have tons of fabrics in yardage cuts. These fabrics will be perfect. Thank you so very much. God bless.
I do Quilt of Valor tops. The desired dimensions are 60 inches by 80 inches, essentially big enough for an average height man to wrap around his shoulders. Women receive them too, but the majority of recepients are male. It is a wonderful cause to be part of.
Thank you for your service. And thanks for the feedback. I am aware a three yard quilt is too small for quilts of valor, that why we have" add a border" instructions free of charge under Free Goodies on fabiccafe.com website. Donna
This is my favorite quilt. The brown, and rust. I think it’s the sew quick pattern. I have tried a while now to find this material. I emailed you all and John was quick to respond. Can’t find it, but I did find something along the same color line. Going to make this for my brother. It’s has like a country music theme. Guitars and such. He plays the guitar and sings, so that was even better. Thank you “sew” much. These patterns keep me from getting bored.
Yes, Sew Quick is a popular pattern and that particular version was extremely popular. It was a Quilting Treasures fabric, but I made it a couple of years ago. Donna
Your construction quilts remind me that there is a construction equipment park for big & little boys. It was sponsored by Mark Cuban. Your videos are so inspirational. I visit your booth every year at IQF In Houston, Tx
You both are so cute. Tuesday & Thursday at 4pm is the best time of the week. Nice of you to do these during the pandemic with no quilt shows to go to.
Can't wait to get my Play Ball kit. Hubby has been playing baseball since Little League and at the ripe age of 67 still plays twice a week. Also happy to get the Checkmate pattern with it since I have some focus fabrics I have been holding on to that will work great in this pattern.
Just found you channel. Love it!!! I have always used a 3 color style in most quilts but didn't know about you. I have learned a lot and eager to try more ideas of fabric choice.
Welcome to Fabric Café, Marlienne! We are so glad you found us! We love our 3-yard quilting method and try to share lots of different ideas on our show!
I’m thinking of making a baby quilt for my first grandson, and my daughter said she likes a “Little Gentleman” theme, like mustaches, pipes, beards, bow ties, and books. Of course she didn’t tell me this until AFTER I had already bought fabrics with none of these motifs. Hahahaha! Anyway, I’m trying to find a pattern which might have squares of these things, like a mustache square, a beard square, a smoking pipe square, and so on… I wonder if anyone here might have some ideas?
I grew up knowing a family in our Church and Catholic school by the last name of Nosal! Probably no relation. They were originally from PA, but moved to Schenectady, NY.
