I thought exactly the same. In the medical profession, to remain up to date, you need a minimum of clinical hours that’s not insignificant & lots of continuing medical education to do. It sounds like his channel is proving good quality and accurate content which is helping students and the general public become more knowledgeable about the human anatomy which is cool and why he's making so much money. I don't know that the average person could make a successful channel the way he did. Also, I wonder what will happen as more people become RU-vidrs and we have more channels to choose from that offer similar content and teaching styles. Which is exactly what this guy has done. He grew the channel to over 5 million subscribers and makes $300K a year. Of course it's not smart to quick your full-time job to begin a RU-vid channel. It does take time to grow it to a full-time income level. But it's certainly doable for anyone willing to put in the time and effort.

Marriage itself can be hard enough, and now you are adding the complexity of money and in-laws…. Very tough… you should talk more and communicate your own expectation.

Let's think into the future. I'd lose interest in a medical channel from a non-practicing doctor. At least with time. So maybe he should keep both jobs.
