8 days into quitting. I started when I was 13 and turned 35 yesterday. I decided I wanted to quit because I got to the point I was chain-smoking a pack day or two if I was drinking. I have recently been diagnosed with Lupus too, and smoking is a big contributor to Lupus flares. Didn't want to turn 35 feeling the way I did, and want to hopefully live another healthy, smoke-free 35 years. These are the things I need to be hearing. Thank you 🙏

It is now 2024, I keep smoking but less and less. From almost two packs a day, to less than half a pack. I am here to remind everyone that, progress takes time and if you are a heavy smoker like I was, then, take it slow. Not only with cigarettes but with everything else. Today marks 3 months. I felt called to encourage anyone who’s reading this and may currently be going through the thick of it. I was heavily addicted to vaping for years and it was single handedly the only thing I ever thought about. It consumed every part of me. Before quitting and even shortly after quitting, I question myself and what I was doing... if nicotine is making my life “good”, why am I putting myself through suffering? I think a lot of people struggle with this, because it’s easy to forget how life was before nicotine and how getting that buzz is in actuality just a constant craving to feel “normal” again. We forget that feeling in addiction. After literally over 50 times attempting to quit this year I’ve been able to finally do it, and have absolutely no desire to go back to it. Trust my words when I tell you, there IS a light at the end of the tunnel and life is truly better without it.

What starts as a carefree mistake or something that is normal, turns out to be disastrous. I smoked for 2 years daily. And, those 2 years had the worst outcome. Life is there to be lived. Being high is not living. Being in the moment and being present is. Trust yourself. Champions keep playing until they get it right. Never ever ever pick up this habit. Love yourself, your family, and your hardwork enough for all this. Remember that you can't snap the fabric of life without it snapping back. Even if it might not lead to instant injuries, it will make you slow, lazy, motivation-less and fatigued. This will bring failure in all your pursuits. Won't be picking up any cig again. Because there is no let's try once and then we'll stop. Don't lie to yourself about it being okay. Keep growing. Also, I had another porn addiction which led me to this. Go cold turkey, live life. Life is already very unpredictable. Dont leave these things to chance. If you play with fire, you will get burnt

Sorry guys I haven’t been logging into this account so didn’t see the replys. I relapsed a couple times but currently I’m a little over a month clean from nic. It was hard and took multiple tries but I finally did it and have no desire to go back. I had pretty much all the withdrawal symptoms. The worst was the nausea/diarrhea, severe fatigue, insomnia, foggy head, sore throat and the intense desire to vape. Day 3-5 were the worst and got better from there. After 2 weeks it’s almost all gone but not 100%. They say it takes 3 months for your brain to go back to producing normal levels of dopamine. I kept relapsing right around the 48hr mark. It took everything in me to finally get over that hump. Every day I feel better and better. I have so much less anxiety. My skin is more plump and even toned. My hands don’t feel like ice anymore. I can breathe more deeply. I sleep through the night now without waking up with withdrawals needing a puff to go back to sleep. My energy levels are back and I have so much more stamina than I used too. My eyes are brighter and whiter as well. Quitting is so worth the temporary hell to end up feeling this good again. It’s shocking how much of a negative impact nicotine had on my body. One just doesn’t notice it because it’s a gradual decline over many years. Anyone can do it, it’s just a matter of how bad do you want it and your circumstances. I am very fortunate that I was able to spend a full two weeks at home doing nothing but focusing on getting better but I know everyone’s isn’t that lucky so I can’t even imagine having to even leave the house the first week let alone work. How are you guys doing???

I can relate. Those aren’t failures, it’s all it’s part of the process. Maybe try incorporating other coping skills along with smoking and see how that goes? You are not your addiction. You are stronger than you think. Please be kind to yourself. It’s okay, you’re good, keep going, keep growing

Bro, I LOVE your channel. Watching your videos helped me quit vaping. I smoked weed in highschool and it was so easy to stop before military school. Vaping was incredibly hard. Going 2 months strong and watching your content is so inspirational and helps me realize what my body is doing versus my emotions.

I was batshit crazy for about 12 weeks after I quit. I’m an alcoholic as well and quit drinking around 2 months before I quit smoking. I have a year sober in October. Any way my point is that quitting drinking was a cake walk as far as mental repercussions and that. Nicotine???? Absolute rollercoaster of emotions. It’s so much more than just quitting and getting through the nic fit stage. I was NOT okay for a long time. I wasn’t going to smoke…that wasn’t the hard part. How unpredictable and unstable my mood was. That was the hard part. I’m NEVER smoking again.

I smoked for 3 years straight and every time I wanted to quit I kept telling myself that this is the last one. Besides nic vapes I was also smoking weed. But I quit weed about 3 months ago. And my last vape was 2 weeks ago. I keep telling myself that the shop is too far or that it costs too much. So after saying that I get too lazy to go and that helps me get off it everyday. Hope the tip helps

I quit “cold turkey” about 3 months ago. Leading up to that there were a lot of nights of me buying vapes to rid the cravings then throwing them out, out of guilt. THEN being mad that I wasted $20. One day I got tired of the cycle and said “let’s get through these cravings so I never have to have them again.” I quit 3 months ago at the time of writing this and have zero temptation to go back. Mind you, I’m around them all the time because my roommates vape. But trust me, you can absolutely do it.

My dad quit 2 years ago after he had a hard wake-up with getting pneumonia that almost killed him. I’ve been smoking for 6years and I’m scared to quit. It also scares me even more to know that I could end up worse than he was. I’m glad he’s still alive but I don’t know what to do to quit.

It’s sucks. But each week it gets easier and better. Just find a snack or treat that isn’t bad for you, as a go to when your having cravings. And little fun fact. The cravings only last 10 minutes on average. So if you can consciously get through 10 minutes of rough sledding. You’ll be ok.
@dummy999
@dummy999 9 месяцев назад
You sound like you havent quit smoking if you think a snack can actually mitigate your body's nicotine withdrawl in any way.. And 10 minute cravings..? I wish that was my experience
@cliffordfarley30

@@dummy999 not gunna lie bub, I struggled. The withdrawals suck. But i promise you. The patches, the gums, the chews, pouches, all bs..you'll never quit until you go cold turkey from nicotine..im not gunna argue with some random guy about his own addiction. Its advice, take it or leave it. Idgaf bub
@dummy999
@dummy999 9 месяцев назад
@@cliffordfarley30 I've quit nicotine cold turkey. Tried nicotine gum but I agree all that shit is useless. I just think "get a crunchy snack" is useless cliche advice that usually comes from people who havent actually been addicted and quit. Bottom line is it's just a shit process and something to suffer out. It's not something you find an easy way out of or make easier, because there's no way around withdrawl. Your body wants nic and nic only so it's just something you accept as difficult and miserable to do, but do anyways

When you talk about nicotine withdrawal, I think you should talk more about chewing tobacco because of the strength. I chew tobacco, but I've tried the rest, and from my experience, withdrawal from chewing tobacco i feel is far more horrendous than all the others.
