One of the times I fainted I tried to sit down first, but fainted before and when I opened my eyes I couldn’t figure out where I was because I was looking up at the bottom of a chair 😂
@@endora3760 No, that's not true because she asked to be cut to something else plus it's live tv. When you are on live tv you must not present worry to others and control your settings otherwise was every distraction my cause you to lose focus, People have lost there jobs over that sort of thing.
@@endora3760 The way the other presenter paused, then wrapped up the call and said "cut to a tape" suggests that she was well aware of the situation and was trying to free herself up to assist her colleague as swiftly as possible whilst maintaining the professionalism required when presenting live TV. As others have pointed out, a public freakout or other unprofessional conduct could've led to her being fired. She handled the situation as well as can be reasonably expected.
Marcia that's awesome...(meanwhile they're pushing the fainting victim offstage with a snow shovel and the guy in the control room is yelling, "Keep the camera on the DVDs!!!")
"Marsha, are you still there?" Please Marsha, I need to know that you're okay, and the audience does too. That's what is vitally important here. That this damn sale is completed.
I was watching QVC late one night. There was a blood curdling scream off cam. I knew it was serious. The host was shocked and was looking around. The engineers were yelling in her ear to act like nothing happened. It was so hard for her to recover. I can't blame her but wow. You could tell they were in her ear yelling to get it together.
@@super1million11 someone was injured badly by the the sound of the scream. They never said. It was all the host could do to pull herself together. I heard that someone fell off a ladder, dunno if that was it.
@@gabs1224 When you're standing try pushing your knees / legs back without lifting your feet. You'll feel your knees 'lock' when it happens. You'll know you're doing it when you look in a mirror and see your legs are slightly bent backwards
There are other people on the set behind that helped her ... so its not a bad idea to go on instead to show her painful situation on screen and commenting it.
@@mb-ql1gb You would think they would have helped her. But then you hear what sounds like she fell.... No excuse for that if she's got help. Must be a bad place to work.
"Marcia, that is just SO awesome!" So says the other lady just after the first one has slammed to the floor unconscious. She's talking to the woman on the phone when she says it, but still...
Why didn't the QVC host acknowledge the presenter wasn't feeling well. It made it AWKWARD that she just ignored it - when everybody watching could clearly see what was going on. The poor woman sounded like she fell to the floor off-camera.
You mean the woman on the left? How could she possibly know? Every time she turned and looked at her she put on a smile and appeared normal. Everyone's always trying to blame someone, this is just unfortunate.
Omgosh! Seriously they always say it's live TV and laugh about things. Why not just tell people that someone has fainted and get her help! That poor lady!
i've been fainting since i was really little. unfortunately it runs in my family and no matter how many times you faint it still doesn't occur to you to sit down when you start to go.
I think so. It upset me when I first watched this - no one seemed to be doing anything to help. But I tried listening more closely - turned up loud, and ignoring what's going on in the foreground, and you can hear people trying to help her after she falls. The video just hit a nerve with me - way back in middle school I fainted and no one tried to help me or even get a teacher. I was too shy to ask for help, so I just struggled to my feet when I came to and felt sick the rest of the day. Ugh.
Pandorawombat if you can this after 12 years. I just want you to know that if i was there, i would help you. I hope you didnt experience something like that again. :)
I once shit myself in public. Worse experience e anyone csn ever go through in life much less in public. As bad and humiliating as your experience is, I hope you csn appreciate there are others who have endured much worse.
I'm just seeing this wasn't even looking for it. Her co-host should have been fired staying on the line instead of helping her right away. Greed makes people do many things and obviously the contract you have a cute BC you better sell or else you're out the door. Now I see they've merged with some other television networks that sell products that are really deceitful dishonest if that's not all. I like to be sleep but only for certain products but I don't deviate from those things it seems like they become desperate and have very underhanded selling tactics. I believe they're owned by someone overseas..... good luck with that.
It's a horrible feeling when you're about to faint but you have to act like everything's ok. The nausea, weakness, dizziness, feeling hot, seeing stars, not thinking clearly. But if you listen closely in the background after she falls, there ARE people backstage taking care of her - encouraging her to relax and breathe, checking for responsiveness, getting her to lie still. And to be fair, you can tell by her voice that the other host IS upset by what's happened even though she does keep going.
Its only embarrassing when she tries to laugh her way out of it because its so obvious she aint feeling well. I would just go and sit down for a moment, fck that show lol.
About Sandra Bennett's behavior. She seems indifferent but there was doubtless someone behind the camera who quickly but quietly ran up to help the lady and motioned for Sandra to go on pitching. This reminds me of the video 'She works hard for the money' when the beautiful, hardworking lady falls to the floor and Donna Summer concerned comes right to her aid. You may wish Sandra was concerned like that but others around her took the guilt off her conscience. Maybe if Donna Summer was on QVC at the time she would have ran to help the lady no matter what.
I feel so bad for this lady, you can tell she was struggling for a long time before she fainted. It looks like she is having a diabetic reaction. I hope the vendors and business consultants learn from this to have supplies on hand all the time. Godspeed to everyone.
0:05 Me (a cashier) forcing myself to smile when a customer makes a joke even though I been standing without a single break for 6 hours helping customer non-stop during the Christmas rush at my store. 0:37 Me when I get home:
Marsha that's that's awesom. You think that's awesome, you should be here. My co-hostess just hit the fucking floor. Speaking of floors, we have some new floor cleaning products here....
I've never fainted but I've had my blood pressure drop so low a couple of times I thought I was going to. One time I had to sit down. Other time I was already sitting down 'cause I was the doctor and she was in the middle of checking my pressure, go figure. I actually couldn't see for a minute or so that time. That's what the woman looked like in this video.
I think it's sad that workers are made to feel that illness is unprofessional and have to "work through it." The policy should simply be that your health is first priority, and if you feel like you're in distress, you should be able to verbalize that w/o shame. Who cares if it's on air? A product doesn't have more value than your well-being or your life. The fact that the other co-host had to carry on, while that woman fell out in front of her only indicates how we're taught to prioritize corporate sales rather than tend to humanity. It genuinely upsets me to see that fear of losing a job forces us to abandon morality.
@@levelintent Aww, I'm really sorry to hear that, but even tho I'm a stranger, I'm super proud of you for being true to your own self and knowing what was best for you in a moment. I firmly believe you'll make it out on top, and you should be super proud of yourself for being true to your own principles. It's a shame that money really does dictate our lives, even if we don't want it to. It's the thing we require to survive. And fear of losing a job is not just fear of being fired, of having to start over, of feeling the pain of rejection or sting of failure---it's that we'll not have an income, and we know we require it to live. It honestly sucks. It's the reason we all find ourselves abandoning our morals, our passions, and even our own identity.
WOW!!! Now practically everyone is famiiar with the old expression "the show must go on", but I think that lady in blue took it to a WHOLE 'NUTHER LEVEL! LOL! :-D
besides the fainting, do you think the personalized cartoon DVD would be interesting if not only you have to send your picture in, but would also come to voice your characters also it would have made your own cartoon very interesting and engaging.
