Fun fact: Threatening to sue someone without grounds to sue, especially to get somebody to do something you want, can result in Coercion charges, and repeatedly calling someone the R word is Slander. The followup messages could count as Harassment and emotional distress. The choosing beggar is lucky it didn't go to court, because the guitar seller has a real case against them.

I swear if I hear the words "Verbal Contract" one more time from these idiots, I'm going to flip my shit. A verbal contract would be where both parties agree to a set of terms. Neither party did. She said that her *interest* in buying it automatically meant it was legally hers. The man said no several times when she asked to have it for 400~. Even if a verbal contract is legally binding, there was no agreement here. For reference, here are the elements of a Legally Binding Verbal Contract: Offer and Acceptance: an offer is made by one party which is accepted by another, e.g. the aunt offers to loan $200 to her nephew to get a new tire, he accepts the money with the promise to pay her back in full at a later date. Lawful Purpose: the purpose of the contract must be lawful, e.g. the aunt can create a verbal loan agreement with her nephew so he can get a new tire, but she can’t give him money to do something illegal like steal her neighbor’s TV and have it considered an enforceable contract. There's been a massive increase in people trying to buy American made Fenders for well below retail price on r/CB. If you're buying a first guitar for a kid get a Yamaha Pacifica or a Squier Affinity, if you want something a bit more then spend up a little bit for a Vintage Modified or Classic Vibe; no kid needs an American Standard for their first guitar, and it'll definitely be a huge waste of money if they decide to give up on it.

Story 1: Contracts require identical agreement from both sides, even if they’re verbal. If you make demands from someone and they don’t comply, then there’s no explicit contract. If he ships you the guitar and takes your money without saying that he agrees, that’s still a contract but it’s an implicit contract because actions speak louder than words. However, there’s no indication that the guitar owner agreed to enter a contract with choosing beggar.

I honestly would have given her my contact info so she could sue me. I don't know if American law accepts "verbal contract" as a ground for legal binding, but it's also clear that not even a verbal contract was made. She said she would buy the guitar, which initiated the contract, but was denied based on the grounds of inadequate price, so the contract was not formed. If this went to court, the judge would possibly piss himself/herself laughing at the stupidity of the woman, and she would be left with paying all charges since she obviously would not be able to win a case like this.

I looked up the story of the babysitter that wasn't paid because "you got ice cream and a day of fun". They called the choosing beggar's husband and told him what happened, and also threatened to take it to small claims if necessary. I had a guy who bought a 3D TV from me, I sold it way under price and when he came he said to me "These TVs sometimes have issues and the screens can get this noise effect". Basically what you get with a damaged cable or something. I told him I had been using that TV for years, every single day and never had that issue. He bought the TV from me and 2 weeks later he said the issue I descriped above happened to him and he wanted his money back. I knew it wasn't the TV because I always take good care of my electronics, because they're expensive. I told him no but I can try to help him fix the issue. He absolutely flipped at me and started threatening me. I said just try removing all the HDMI cables from the TV and check if the issue persists, if it doesnt persist it isn't the TV. I never heard from him after that message. The weird thing was there another person messaging me and he didn't want to buy the TV but just wanted to point out the issue I descriped, I think it's the same person. Very weird, I let the ad up and got way better offers too, the whole deal sucked and I don't think I'll ever sell things second hand again.
