7:30 that was actually proposed as a safety measure in the early 1900's. The idea was to make crashing so dangerous that drivers must put all of their attention on the road. So basically a reverse airbag.

When it comes to the kfc gloves one, not sure what laws are like in the US or whatever country op is from, but in Canada workers have the right to refuse work in unsafe conditions so I really hope op is okay! Use your rights, people!!
@xxlarrytfvwxx9531
@xxlarrytfvwxx9531 Год назад
Straight from the United States Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) FAQ: *If my workplace is unsafe, what can I do?* If you believe working conditions are unsafe or unhealthful, we recommend that you bring the conditions to your employer's attention. At any time, a worker may file a complaint with OSHA to report a hazardous working condition and request an inspection. If the condition clearly presents a risk of death or serious physical harm and there is not enough time for OSHA to inspect, the worker may have a legal right to refuse to work. I got the following from a short on @Law By Mike's youtube channel: You may refuse to work but don't leave unless your boss says you may.
@AviRox1154
@AviRox1154 Год назад
In the U.S., it's a bit more complicated thanks to the overlap between state and federal law, but generally, the OP would have been fully backed by the law of they refused to work with unsafe equipment.

For the fiberglass mattress, fiberglass is actually extremely common in upholstery for fireproofing. For the mattress mentioned, the zipper is under a big tag that reads DO NOT UNZIP. I like to creep around my home and act like a goblin I don’t know why but I just enjoy doing this. Maybe it’s my way of dealing with stress or something but I just do it about once every week. Generally I’ll carry around a sack and creep around in a sort of crouch-walking position making goblin noises, then I’ll walk around my house and pick up various different “trinkets” and put them in my bag while saying stuff like “I’ll be having that” and laughing maniacally in my goblin voice (“trinkets” can include anything from shit I find on the ground to cutlery or other utensils). The other day I was talking with my neighbours and they mentioned hearing weird noises like what I wrote about and I was just internally screaming the entire conversation. I’m 99% sure they don’t know it’s me but god that 1% chance is seriously weighing on my mind.

I question how safe a dial transmission is even when it's in the right location. The thing with a stick transmission is that it makes it pretty easy to tell what gear you're in even without looking at it. That would be hard to manage with a dial.
@fermitupoupon1754
@fermitupoupon1754 Год назад
It's generally a dial selector for an automatic transmission. So it's a PRND selector, not a gear shifter. Frankly I wouldn't be too worried about the owner/driver of the car. I'd be more worried about a passenger who doesn't drive and randomly decides to turn up the volume on the radio, or switch the station, or something like that.

We discover what we haven't thought of the hard way, through trial and error. Even the smartest of us. That's why the saying 'Safety regulations are written in blood.' exists. We often don't know something is going to go wrong or has gone wrong at the planning stage until the disastrous results unfold. With the runway highway, nobody bothered to check their heading or a map and simply continued in the wrong direction until hundreds of millions of dollars were invested into that highway that they didn't realize was going to cut through the runway and not run past it when they started work however many miles away. Because they blew the money in the screw up, they don't have enough money to fix it now.

6:30 is very relatable. I work at McDonalds and every time I have to clean the grills I have to wear gloves that look like that and after steamig the grills with a cloth and having to pick it up with holes in my gloves is absolutely amazing. I was sent home once because I burned myself on the grill because there was a hole and then proceeded to not be allowed to work for a week until the burn healed. Yay

High voltage lines are typically not insulated and are made of braded cable. And it looks too thin to be insulated with 3-inch-thick rubber. This is likely a telecommunication cable. Those are insulated. I'd say it's not uncommon to see those droop down that low. Telecom companies seem to not bother with those until they're in the way of traffic or something. But never have I seen a live HV line hang that low.

0:43 I remember using wooden ladders like these to pick cherries from high stemmed cherry trees (50 to 60 ft). But those ladders were not mounted on wagons, they were only "secured" with a thin rope at the top by the first guy who went up the ladder. Since cherries grow mainly on the outer parts of the branches, you had to place the ladders there in order to be able to reach the cherries, so there were no thick branches to attach the rope to, only thin, flimsy ones. You could literally feel even the slightest draft of air up there. But it was well worth the effort; those cherries were amazing.

8:59 I have a 2015 chrysler 200 with a dial shift and I've never had any problems with mistaking it for the volume dial because cars with a dial shift are very likely to have volume controls on the steering wheel. There is also a distinct size and texture difference of between both dials and the dial shift stays locked when you're driving except between drive and sport mode so you can switch into sport mode while driving if you would like to. When im in park and press my brake I can hear parts beneath the dial quietly move to unlock the dial so I can shift to reverse. I've had my car for 3 years and honestly I laugh whenever people think you could easily mistake it for the volume dial. The only shift type that I have a problem with is in some of lincolns cars that have buttons near the radio screen, like why?

8:23 Those are earth wires, they prevent electrocution. You normally see that style of wire attached to the bottom of a radiator just in case an electrical current gets into the hot water or metal piping, they will pull that current away and ground it meaning anyone who touches the radiator will be safe. My theory is they either use to be or are plans to add a heated towel rail.

Fun fact. You have bricks in your house. Its pretty common to use bricks this way because they are hella strong. Only way to break a brick is through impact as i doubt you will have enough force to break it when it lies on a flat ground by pressing on it. Its safer than making a pile of dirt under it tho they should mask it with it or at least put a steel cone around it to reasure people. Also the zipper needs to be in place even if the matress is not intented for opening. Reason? Becayse if somebody buys a matres he would be ae to hide stuff in it and its easier for police to drag it out and open up. Not every country has this tho.

@@peter_kitsune believe me they are so compressed you would break your feet on them. The whole weight pressing down on them is so strong if anything was to go wrong it would be at the sole begining when they lied these bricks. To take a brick off the pile you wpuld need to have a strenght to rip it from under tons of weight. Many places do use bricks like this to support heavy weights due to their accesibility and strenght. They were made with this purpose. Iif they put something like cement i between the cracks no one would say that it looks innaproperiate for them to use it as a support while i will suprise you by saying the weakes part of a brick wall is the cement itself. As dangerous as it looks due to me seeing many of these instances i can assure you its really rare for it to fail. Tho it does make you nope out if you dont understand the physics making it possible. Being single is fine, I know that feeling, it sucks wanting to feel loved and having too much to give but failing to find someone who even acknowledge that you are worthy of love, but in the end it is not something worth stressing about, take care of yourself, learn to enjoy simple things and keep on keeping on, you are way more likely to find a partner when you are alone and happy. And even if you find love tomorrow, you have to love yourself, otherwise you might become codependent and being codependent is a great way to scare away the people you love and end up even sadder when they leave. TLDR: Be strong, be patient, Love yourself, you'll be fine
