My dad wanted to build a little playground (Your basic swing set, and maybe a little slide or something) Our HOA has this dumb rule where your neighbors on BOTH SIDES of you have to sign off and agree to any work that you want to do on the property outside (Not sure if this applies to the inside, but definitely applies to outside) So my dad sent our neighbors a plan for what he was going to do, and asked them to sign off on it. My aunt (She lives right next to us) signed, but an old couple that lives on the other side of our house refused, saying "It would damage the way our house looks" and some other things I don't really remember. Keep in mind that we have a 7 FOOT TALL WALL OF VICUS STRETCHING FROM THE ROAD ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE LAKE WHERE OUR PROPERTIES END And that's the story of why I never got a playground. In my opinion their house is pretty ugly anyways.

I’m a young soccer referee and those stories are 100% plausible. I have had to tell a parent to leave and if they won’t by a certain time, you end the game. The ref actually handled that situation very respectfully and how people are actually trained to do. Hats off 🎉

You actually reminded me of something. I had wanted to die my hair in high-school a crazy color. My best friend and I were talking about how and when to do it. My boyfriend at the time wasn't fond of this. The reasoning he gave me is "my grandparents won't approve and ill have to break up with you." In which a huge fight broke out between him and me. I went to my friends house that night and dyed it (it was friday). He wasn't a fan, but didn't break up with me yet. My mom didnt like how it looked so she got me set up with a hair appointment so it could look better. I came to school Monday with bright crazy colored hair and I broke up with him.

Honestly, the karen with COVID makes me think of a quick scenario I had with an elderly woman- I was going to my barber's shop to get my hair trimmed (she's across my street) and has a deck to get onto the door, the left side is a ramp for those who need it, and the right is stairs for those who can take it. I'm standing on the deck across from the door and call my barber, she says "Just need a moment, finishing up with my current client then you'll be allowed in." The policy they have to go through is 'only one client allowed inside at all times, they must wear a mask'. So I'm on my phone waiting for the person to come out and when they do I step to the side because the door swings open to take up most of the deck and I didn't want to get hit by the door. The elderly woman steps out and takes her mask right off and says "I'M vaccinated since May and YOU have a mask on." in an extremely snoody tone. I was just left confused as I went to get my haircut, guess I should of let the door hit me. *shrug*

That parent yelling at the youth referee really ticks me off. As a referee and coach, we try to be as protective as possible over our junior refs, and I'm furious no one shut down this guys behavior before it got to that level

My Ex-Boyfriends Mother broke up with me for him while he, his stepfather, his grandparents and my brother where sitting next to us. "My Son is breaking up with you. You are no longer welcome here." When I asked why she said "You never clean his room or cook for him" (I am a terrible cook) I was like wtf. I could only meet him on weekends, he lived with his grandparents and I lived with my parents and brothers. I was 17 and he was 19 or 20 at the time

My family use to live in a HOA neighborhood in California before I was born. My dad told me that he would mow the lawn every Saturday in order to make sure the grass hight was within limits. He skipped 1 Saturday because his mower broke and he was waiting for the part to come in the mail. On Friday he got a note in the mail saying that it was his 1 warning before he got a 300$ fine for not having his lawn "up to proper HOA approved heights" and would be fined every week until he got it fixed. This was in the early 90s... Needless to say when he got a job offer for Houston he took it. And that's the story of how and why all my sisters were born in California while I'm a Texas girl!

As a person whose mother was born in Scotland, I can say there is nothing quite like an angry Scottish person. My mom grew up in California, but when she's really angry, her accent goes slightly Scottish and I've picked up a few phrases and words from my grandparents (mostly my grandad)
