This hits a little to close to home. This song is a really good representation of what it's like to be obsessed with somebody. I also like how it doesn't necessarily have to be read as romantic. When I get obsessed to the point of dependency on the person I'm obsessed with it's less uwu going to stalk my boyfriend and more I want to be your best friend and I would do anything to make you happy and the song can be read this way, making it easier for more people with attachment and obsession issues to relate to. 10000/10 song.

this song really hit close to home for me, it reminds me of the struggles i've been facing due to my BPD. wanting to be close to someone, only to drive them away instead. desperately trying to get them back, to the point of damaging your relationship more and more. there's a couple of lines in this song that *really* make me interpret it as BPD. "please don't think less of me, i'm but a lonely soul you see", that feeling of being alone? yeah. yeah. "so now it's your responsibility to make me stay alive" I'd be awfully dependent on my friends, to the point of driving them away "my polarizing rationality just couldn't pass the test" black and white thinking, another big symptom of BPD thank you for the great song RIP, i'm going to be listening to this on loop for like 5 hours now. you're epic EDIT: i just noticed the themes of jealousy in there too! nice one. definitely going to add that to the pile

This song makes me feel really good and sad at the same time. I was diagnosed with BPD right before my 18th birthday, and it really explains a lot. For years, my parents thought I was just a bratty spoiled rat. Even now, I watch them idolize and adore my sister (who is younger by 11 months) and I just… feel like it’s so unfair. She has so many talents, and I used to be a “gifted” kid. I’ve tried so hard to earn their love, but my dad still makes fun of me and dumps it all on my shoulders whenever anything happens…

So this person isn't even 18 yet, and they've made a ton of epic songs and never fail to impress. You truly amaze me R.I.P. Also good job on writing a song in 10 days

God I wish I was as talented as you. It takes skill to learn *how* to tune a synth, but it takes talent to make it sound good. You have such talent. And not only that, but the instrumental. Balancing glitch effects is so hard because its so easy to overdo it but you balanced it so well. And the lyrics. *the lyrics*. It's so fucking hard to use big words in english and make it not sound choppy. Idk how you did it. You definitely understand the concept whether its conscious or not. Its really hard to convey what you want and not only sound smooth but also rhyme, so using very uncommon words is such a great way to work around this. Like I've never heard the word "ire" before but it conveys so much in so little syllables. And the art of carefully choosing specific words to convey the exact intent. Like "It's your responsibility to *make* me stay alive." *make* implies that the singer doesn't intend to actually try to stay alive. You could've easily put *help* instead and it would've had a completely different meaning. And the way it all wraps in a bow, theres so many contradicting statements, and then the line "my polarizing rationality" ties it all together. The singer *knows* they're feelings and opinions dont make sense to an outsider at this point, but that doesn't change them, so they "couldn't pass the test." I could keep going, but I think I got my point across. You're amazingly talented R.I.P, please keep doing what you're doing.

I get so terrified of rejection, isolate, then when I find someone who I think I can be safe with tend to just... Well, go a bit too far, and when I'm rejected again I spiral. Fight not to isolate again, sometimes win, many times don't. Yet, low self-esteem tells me it was bound to happen, and I still want the best for them, it's a mess of emotions and fears. A vicious cycle, one I'm working on.

yo i remember when this song came out and punched me directly in the gut because i related so hard to it from both the narrator's end and the recipient of it from someone else. life update, i cut the person obsessing over me off bc it was hurting both of us (they seem to be doing much better!), worked through my obsessive tendencies over my person, and we ended up together. I'm so incredibly glad I was given the time and space to sort it out BEFORE we got the chance to try ^^ i do still struggle with this, i think it's just part of how i'm wired, but I'm finding a balance between not acting on irrational thoughts and avoiding bottling up my feelings a little better every day!

Man, it's midnight where I am right now and I really just feel all of this hard. This just reminds me too much of my first crush, especially around the line of "I truly only want the best for you." I sill hang out with her to this day. I still love her, and my only goal is to see that she's happy, without me. I still struggle sometimes with that, I still sometimes get pangs of jealousy whenever someone makes her laugh in that one way that I thought only I could. But she doesn't want me like that. She only wants me as a friend, a brother to her. And that's really the best I can do. Goddamn I heard this without context and didn’t realize it was a synth. Like, I heard some of the robot-y sound but it passed for auto tune or other effects. She doesn’t have any of the stutter or clickyness of most synths. Edit: I think what it is that makes her so human sounding is if you listen carefully you can hear what sounds like the shape of her mouth changing at the end of each sound, transitioning to the next. Fucking wild.
