@@flashstudiosguy I have worked with a few Gang members... I recognized them as such bc they were using the ASL alphabet to communicate across the room, but even for words and phrases that have actual ASL signs. So, they explained to me that they spell everything... blew there mind when I showed them a few actual ASL signs "WTF? You said all that whit just 2-3 signs?" We became pretty chill for the rest of that gig...
If she thinks that then obviously she not working with a full deck. She has to have some minor psychological issue because that is obviously a sign if you believe people are trying to make you look stupid
I gotta say the fact that the Karen in story 5 gets offended by getting called blind and doesn’t mention getting called stupid made me laugh more than it should have 😂
Almost like the scene in the movie "Splash" when Eugene Levy's character says "oh, it's just me and the moron twins" and at that moment the other two walk by and says "we're not twins"
Very bold of you to presume that getting arrested and serving potential jail time would ever cause a Karen to develop anything resembling a sense of accountability.
*Fifth Story:* Imagine being so entitled you don't realize the person you're harassing is a cop even though they're in full uniform. And then resisting arrest and assaulting both officers needed to restrain you.
Once anyone put their hands on a cop in a aggressive manner will get tased and will be arrested after getting out of the hospital to take the taser barbs out
@@KingNoah231 also fine print on your record, for assault to on duty officer resisting arrest and few months jail/prison or probation with heavy fine with it.
It actually probably means she's not any good. Ballerinas start before the age of 10 (usually WAY before), without exception. This chick started at 16. She's never going to reach the pro level. That's just the way it is in that industry.
@@goombapizza6335, I came here to say just that. Most dancers start at age 5 or 6 and train for at least 10 years before becoming a part of a major company.
@@Gwennedd I took ballet from 3 to about 7. We basically got forced out of the studio at that point because our parents wouldn't commit to multiple classes a week at that point. I wound up quitting ballet at that point because most of the studios in the area expected a bigger commitment at that age since that's when the "real" training starts.
Story 7 - That cop was definitely on a power trip. I looked up the policy itself and there was NOTHING about you not being allowed to smoke within 500 feet of the school. You can't smoke on the school campus, but if you're across the street or a block or two away at a McDonald's, you can light up all you want, with the exception if you're in the company of the principal, a teacher, or other school official ie on a field trip.
My brother retired a couple years ago from a company in NYC. He’d been dancing since he was 4 and retired at like 32. When he was hired, he’d been dancing for like 18 years including 4 years in college. The dance world is small enough that the mom and daughter seriously screwed themselves over and likely permanently.
Story 7: I think allowing the Cop to embarrass himself wouldn't be enough, I would consider filing a corruption complaint against this petty Officer, if he has harassed OP then it's possible that he has done stuff like this before
If the cop had cuffed the OP then he could've gone after the cop for an unlawful detainment and kidnapping. Since he went with Officer Tyrant willingly then all he can do is lodge a complaint. Also all but one of the "charges" are possibly bogus unless they are Hawaii state laws and even then the only one that the officer somewhat got correct was no smoking within X amount of feet from a school, which is still wrong because it only applies to students that currently attend the school.
@@janglesthearsonist5265 Back then, a lot of schools had actual designated smoking areas. If a student was over 18, they could legally smoke on school property.
I've read/listened to a lot of these Karen stories and I'm starting to piece together a few things: Wearing anything that looks like ANY kind of uniform in a store means that you work there. Period. To her, a uniform is a uniform, and if a uniform is being worn inside of any place of business, that person works there. Does not MATTER what color the uniform is, and what color the employees wear. It's binary. On or off. It is absolutely inconceivable to her that other people would wear uniforms without working there. It's also inconceivable that anyone who acts like an employee isn't one. Helping someone else, putting something back, talking friendly to a real employee, wearing earbuds, the list goes on and on. But the real kicker is that once she's decided something, that's it. IT CANNOT BE CHANGED. Her reality is what matters and anyone who tries to convince her that she's mistaken is another target of her rage. She cannot be wrong. Ever.
I'm in construction, and my favorite color is orange, so I wear it a lot. I used to shop at home Depot at least 4-5 times a week, and almost every time people would come up to me and ask me questions. it got so bad I finally gave up trying to deny it and just told the person where the item was (I knew the store that well). Got so bad I saw an old man ask a new employee for something and they answered, "we don't sell those", and I turned around and said, "Yes you do", and then told the old guy where to find them (Next isle). The guys said, "You should work here". I said, "Yeeah... someone should..." and walked away.
Story three.... ALWAYS press charges! 🤨 Last story..... I would tell him "Arrest me then!" Then I charge him with false arrest! At the least, I'd insist the Bad Cop get a write-up in his record 😡
I agree w/ pressing charges. They probably will be dropped/plead out later on, but this is the way people need to be held accountable. Harassment, assault and battery are all punishable crimes, and these people deserve to build themselves a record.
At first I thought you were talking about story 5 where Karen breaks the cops phone which actual good reason not grasping at straws but then heard 7 with that cop
@@MrKingArthurhk right. Nope I'm an adult not a student so not cutting school no truancy Well you can't smoke within 500 ft But it was more than 500 ft
I feel the worst part is OP offered a very easy explanation by offering ID. The cop made an active choice to go against sorting it out then and there, and instead wasted everyones time.
Trying to give a ticket was that officer's way of trying to save face and still assert dominance over OP. Someone this petty has no place on any police force.
That last one was hilarious!! I got stopped by a cop once because he thought I was cutting class. It was 3 days before my 30 birthday!🤣🤣 Another time baxk when I was actually in high school I was getting to class from lunch & I was running a bit late. So right when I was literally right down the down from my class I get stopped by a substitute teacher who thought I was cutting from the middle school down the road. I tried to explain that I was in 10th grade but he wasn't trying to hear it & thought I was lying. He made me follow him to the office, when we got there sit & wait while he called up the middle school down the street & when he got a hold of them he was like, "Good afternoon I have a student from your school found cutting over here on our campus at [my high school's name] here." **Person on receiving end barley audible** "Oh her name is- Student I.D. now!" **I dig in my purse & get my I.D. with the High School name mind you while my counselor is walking in** Counselor: "Oh hey (my name), everything okay?" Before I could even answer ST: "I caught this young lady cutting class from the middle school down the street!" I'm still holding my student I.D. trying my best not to laugh & looking at my counselor giving the ST a look like, "Dude are you serious?" Counselor: "Sir she a student h-" ST**Snapping & motioning for me to hand him my I.D. so he can give whoever he was talking to my name** : "Yes her name is-" **Now noticing my student I.D. is from the high school** "Uhhhhh" **looks at me & I nod. Then looks at me counselor & rolls their eyes** "Oh uhhh nevermind there was big misunderstanding. Yes thank you. You have a nice day bye" Counselor **flatly**: "She's a student here" while holding their hand to take my I.D. & give it back to me. ST: "I'm sorry you look really young." Me: "Thanks. We'll since the late bell rung can I get an excused tardy slip?" Counselor: Sure The whole time I'm having to keep cool until I left the office & stopped in the restroom to let out a ruckus laughter at the absurdity of the whole situation! Bonus my counselor forgot to write the time so I took my ever loving time getting back to class. At the time I felt kind of somewhat insulted for being mistaken for being that young but now in my 40s I consider it a compliment when I get mistaken for being younger.😅
Story 5, i am so happy to see someone just flat out ask these people if they're blind or stupid. Seriously, once they start getting insulting, there's no reason to hold back.
i agree, believe happend to my also few times. once i was walking home bright early from work ( night shifts) and 1 mother came up to me and was japping angry to me about smoking near a school on side walk outside school grounds. i just looked at her when she was done i asked are you done, she said yes i say ok turned arround and let out loudest fart i could release after that i told her this is what i think of your complainds for smoking on public side walk next to school grounds, she tryit to talk to me but lost every words and i walked away still smoking.
@@JV-pu8kx It really got me when OP explained that he was a police officer in *Singapore* . SINGAPORE??!!! Is that Karen crazy!? That country has pretty darn harsh punishments. They sentence people to be *flogged* for graffiti. And they can be caned for assaulting an officer. Of course that might explain why she tried to make a run for it.
@@melkiorwiseman5234 Yup, ballet dancers start as children, not as teenagers. By the time you hit your teens you're already too old to pick up the skills to go full pro with it. Mom and daughter should manage their expectations and send daughter to college for a career that's viable for her. People are just so dumb...
No, that is a very good way to get you blacklisted from a ballet company. Entitlement is not a good thing to have in the professional dancing industry, it will be more likely to get you ignored than noticed.
Deaf story, if I was the hearing friend I would have told Karen “it’s not a conspiracy, you ARE stupid”. At least that’s what I imagine I would have done 🤣
Unfortunately, with the hearing friend still being in uniform it could be classed as being rude to customers. I used to work in retail and was always told that even though we were off the clock, if we were in uniform we couldn't be rude to customers. We could explain to them that we had finished our shift and couldn't assist them, but we couldn't be rude to them as being in uniform still classed as representing the company.
@@neilhulands2426 I remember those days, glad I am no longer on the retail frontlines. Until someone has actually worked it like you & me, people just can’t comprehend, be it the satisfying moments where you do good in helping someone or the black soul sucking one’s where nothing you do is ever good enough. We always had to stay “professional”. I really don’t miss those dark moments.
Seriously, what's with Karens saying sign language is "gang signs"? Even if you don't know sign language, you still know what it looks like if you've ever been outside.
The officer could already be sued for unlawful detainment of the OP in the last story. He’d also catch he’ll for not investigating when the information was offer to him.
Based on the woman in story 5’s extreme reaction to the suggestion that she was blind I suspect she actually had some vision impairment that she was too proud to admit.
Story 1: The Karen really, secretly, in her little black heart, wanted her prey to be dejected/distressed. Oh ho Karen - we laugh instead. Brilliantly done!
I felt so sorry for the new recruit in the sixth story. Having your mom embarrassed you in front of the sergeant. That the kid stuff that gets you tease by the other. If cop is anything like the firefighters when it come to teasing from what I heard. They are not going to let him live it down.
Seventh story: That officer was a dougebag just for being a dougebag. He thought he was doing something good and when proven he was just acting stupid he tried to at least be a nuisense to OP for giving him a ticker for no valid reason.
Story 3: Single moms are not exempt from consequences. If anything, getting her locked away for a while would be a favor to the hypothetical kid. If that's how she behaves in public, imagine how quick to anger she is at home. That's how my mom was, and we didn't get removed from her home until she got drunk, beat my sister senseless for not taking the trash out fast enough, and then wrapped the car around a light pole on her way to get more booze. But it was the drinking and driving that ultimately did it, not the dozen or so reports of child abuse. The result was the same; with her in prison and all of my siblings split up, but it would've been nice if someone threw her ass in jail before mommy getting drunk and picking a reason to beat us became our bedtime ritual.
@@strudel_reviews no, thankfully not. She's still in to this day. I was old enough to be on my own and my siblings are all with their respective fathers.
Story 7: As far as I remember, you only had to be off campus to smoke, to the point it used to be you just had to cross the street and you weren't on the property anymore. Cop was tripping and probably should have been reported for it.
Trying to recover from realizing what an idiot he was, probably. "Uh, okay, I still gotta get this guy on something so I don't look completely incompetent."
that was the rule when I worked at school. I didn't smoke but one of the other cooks did and he was bitching about how it seemed like he was the only one who followed the rules and crossed the streets since the loading dock was covered in butts
@@dizzysdoings we had a spot we could smoke in too. Our one coach used to holler out "no gym if you pass me a cigarette quick!" I miss that coach lol. I hated gym class and used to keep a pack of his brand just for him. He ended up being my drivers training teacher too. Always took breaks for smokes and ice cream. I miss the 70s
@@dizzysdoings Same here ..... well, it was 4 years before my sentence to the place. Then students had o stand outside to smoke because what used to be the smoking area (an open court yard) was roofed over and turned into the "senior lunch area". Smoking students didn't care if the got rain or snowed on or froze their butts in winter, it was worth it to them for a ciggie fix. Those that smoked something else had to be creative as to where they did it.
Story4- Did that Mother/daughter duo really think they would get a spot at the ballet school through knocking food out of someone's hand? I think it kinda seemed like they were going to physically assault OP in the store if her mentor didn't show up when he did. Who thinks bullying and intimidation is the way to get a ballet spot?!? Like seriously? Also, when I heard the daughter's age and that she had been doing it only for 5 yrs I was thinking who starts ballet at 16? And if someone did, why would they think they had to be better than the ones who have been doing it since they were toddlers? Ballet is highly competitive. Idk what school they were trying to get into but probably should have considered themselves lucky to even get a chance to audition. Idk why the Mother kept on mentioning that her daughter was adopted. Did she think she deserved a metal for that. I feel bad for the girl who seems to be use to her Mom throwing that in others' faces. I imagine she probably got her confidence and attitude from her Mom who probably told her she was the best everyday. I think it's great to positively reinforce children but she wasn't a child and not to their detriment. The whole story is just bizarre. I feel sorry for any college administrator who might have turned that girl away.
Trying to control and/or both manipulate and shame OP. And I feel she is like the dad in Blades of Glory that adopts prodigies to make them have status. I am sure she chose her daughter for that talent and groomed her to be entitled. 100% believe she thought she was good enough for a company, I mean there are plenty of other options for her. Dance transfers to many different styles. But this is entitlement to a whole another level
No. Karen is a narcissist who was pretending to be OP's friend. The meltdown was because OP was no longer useful to her. When you lose your usefulness to them and no longer obey, narcissists trip the fuck out.
Seriously, at this point, I'm actually considering the 20 hour flight to the usa to go sit in a Walmart and observe the inhabitants in the wild. Something along the lines of Sir David Attenborough. Damn, I never get floor shows like the one with the Singapore Karen when I go shopping 🛍. That's entertainment!
Oh I don't know, but I really doubt a Singaporean (or any other Asian) Karen exist. The women here are more likely fight other women over the last pancake than attacking a people in uniform. We have instinctive "fear" of people in uniforms.
Story 3: I HATE that the karen basically got away with it just because she's a woman (i.e. "she MIGHT be a mother"). Hold people accountable for their stupid evil actions. Seriously. Imagine how much better her POSSIBLE child's life will be if their mother is guided away from her stupid belligerent ways
i agree as well for 95%, for 4% are acttual karens acting that way but ten turn to be nice person when people acttual helping them, those excist as well, and for 1% karens that have common sense fighting those 95% bad karens those sxcist as well.
I don't think it was because she might be a mom, as the op stated she had a kid. It was because op thought she might be a single mom and didn't want the kid to potentially end up in the system. Regardless, I don't agree with op's choice, either, since that's a big assumption to make and they just let the karen get off without consequences.
Story 7: I wonder if the incident occurred close to the end if the month, and the cop was behind on his quota. Yes, they're illegal, but they exist, unwritten, everywhere.
If I was OP and once the mom in the 6th story found out who I was and tried to sweet talk her way out of the problem, I would've just said with crossed arms and a 😒 face, "Flattery won't get you anywhere. You're still in violation of the rules. You can't be back here. Please leave." And the officer in the 7th story really needs to be written up for doing that. You basically ask how old the person is, check their ID, and if it checks out, just go on your merry way, Officer.
@@og_3rd_st_saint_gat Yep... I'd have gone the entire route of having him process me, then called him on the carpet in front of his CO and pressed charges for false arrest and illegal detention.
I imagine that trying to get the OP on the "smoking cigarettes within 500 ft" thing wasn't so much a power trip as desperately trying to find some reason to have detained him. Since the op had mentioned having his ID, and the cop didn't even bother to look at it, that would likely mean that unless there was some sort of violation where age didn't matter he (the cop) would be in big trouble if things officially progressed further.
Something I've been thinking about lately is that one long-form story you did a while back with the adopted son that ended with him cathartically (and legally) burning down the home he grew up in. I'd love to see you take on a "BestOfRedditorUpdates" or something of that ilk where the majority of the episode (or the whole episode) is just one story from beginning to end. My guess is it wouldn't do as well as a typical episode, but I'm sure it'd make for a good backlog piece for new viewers. :3
Story 4: Husband is a dentist, [Saracstic]yeah, that's really gonna help.[/Sarcastic] What the hell does the husband being a dentist, got to do with ballet anyway? She was just trying to make it sound tough or like she knew people.
I love how some people apparently think flashing 'gang signs' in a complex and complicated way is more likely than IDK the SIXTH most used language (at least in the USA.)
It wasn't that the wal-mart karen was mad at the teenagers reaction. She just didn't get it! .The suit demoting the girl to customer went right over Karen's head.
For story 5, there is a chance that he was wearing a vest over plainclothes. Seldom hear of CNB officers wearing the usual police uniform(very distinct) over here. Most of them are plainclothes usually(do remember that they send people to the gallows often too so good to blend in ig)
Karens always think employees are trying to make them "look stupid". They don't need any help. They do that on their own. Why do they always think employees are doing pranks of pretending they don't work there. Is there some weird Tik Tok tend that I never heard about that people actually do something like that?!? I've never known anyone willing to risk their job by pretending they don't work at the place they're employed at. Especially, not for a stupid prank. Do they really think it's a big conspiracy that employees and managers team up to prank them or sometimes employees and their friends( I've heard that in other stories)?!?
@@kalimaxine I wonder why they all seem to think it a prank conspiracy. Is there some website that says that if someone says their not an employee don't believe them because it's a prank to make you look stupid?
Actually I think they do need help, as they have some type of an undiagnosed mental health issue. Which maybe some form of an anger issue, such as impulse anger.
For story 3, never feel bad for a Karen, charge them to the full extent of the law and let the prosecutor work out a deal with Karen. If a Karen has more then 1 brain cell they will take the deal, unfortunately most Karens seem to all share 1 brain cell between them all. For the last story, the cop must have been having a slow day or he has a giant stick up his ass & a chip on his shoulder. If I was OP I would have told the cop to do what he needs to but as I am not a highschool student which I can prove with my drivers license and therefore are not breaking any laws so the cop has no reason or right to detain me any longer so I will be showing him my drivers license and then leaving. At that point he will either accept the drivers license or be forced to arrest me and then I would do an official complaint against him and possibly look at a lawsuit against the cop/police department.
Story 4: If I was OP and had a Karen slap a delicious treat out of my hands not once but twice, I would find the actual guy in charge, tell my story and recommend that they never recommend that Karen's spoiled Brat gets what she wants and if possible have Karen replace those treats she so heartlessly murdered! A MAN'S SNACKS ARE HOLY; B**CH!!!!
I wonder if these Karen's impaired. They are unreasonable and delusional..(everyone's out to get them). Like they're taking psychotic medications or something.
Story 3: Press charges then she can real what REAL hand signs are if she ends up in jail🤣🤣 Story 4: If I was the mentor I would’ve added in an “Ill definitely remember your faces for the next time you try to join”
The first time you slap something out of my hand, that's your freebie, because I would be shocked by the action. The second time you slap something out of my hand, you're getting a backhand or a fist.
Story 7: it might or might not have been a law about 500' but the fact he was only tried to give him the ticket after he was embarrassed shows he was getting the ticket for embarrassing the officer and not for breaking the law. It happens way more than you would think where an officer will embellish charges or straight up fabricate them for you embarrassing or disrespecting them
Funny enough, the last story reminds me of my own encounter with truancy officers when I started going to college. That wasn't anywhere near as bad as what happened with this officer.
I graduated in 93. My high school had a security guard that enforced the no smoking rules. But the moment smokers were one house down the block out of sight they lit up. It was so pointless.
Third story. For a first time assault, no serious injuries and no priors, she probably would have gotten off without going to jail. If she had priors, well that's on her. Should have 100% asked to press charges.
I actually did get confused for being a vendor at an outdoor market. No idea how as I was clearly shopping, but at least the lady didn’t go all “Karen” on me when I told her I didn’t work there, and pointed to the vendor.
I am a strong advocate for just punishment. Like if a Karen belittles a Wal-Mart employee for being beneath her, then her legal punishment should be maintaining a flawless full-time work record for 6 months at (another) Wal-Mart. or in the deaf OP's case, assaulting them and calling out ASL as gang signs should come at the cost of jail and having to learn ASL.
That ballet karen is one of those who always tells the story of how she adopted her daughter so elaborate that you'd think she rescued her from the clutches of Somalian pirates
Dancing for 5 years at the age of 21? Honey, at 21 _most_ of the ensemble dancers - not the leads, just the ensemble - have been dancing for 15 years or more.
I'm Sean: I never actually worked at Walmart. The retail store I worked at was Best Buy. It wasn't me that went to work at the donut shop, but my wife. Furthermore, the owner of the shop isn't actually my sister: she's my stepsister. Also, it wasn't technically a donut shop, but a full bakery; we just called it a donut shop because donuts were what they sold primarily until they shut down (actually part of the reason why they shut down was because my stepsister wanted it to be a more traditional bakery, but all the customers wanted just donuts and she got sick of making donuts).
I'd personally demand that cops badge and name. He's fishing for things to stick on that guy, and thats downright corruption. We don't need more guys like that out there. He needs to go back to basic training.
My daughter who was 25yrs Old was stopped by the police and asked," why wasn't she is school 🏫. " She told the officer," she doesn't go to school 🏫. She graduated 7yrs ago." He told her " there's no way she graduated, because she only looks 14yrs old". She pulled out her ID and gave it to him. The look on his face was priceless. She asked if she could go? He told her yes 🤣🤣 She is 30 now and still looks the same. I wish I could have skin like hers.
