So soldier here. What he's doing is a violation of SHARP and is punishable by taking rank and pay, a dishonorable discharge or even being thrown in military jail
My dad was in the military. I heard from a Navy Vet once, how he and his friends would watch the Marines early morning run to watch them drop like flies as they ran for over an hour. I don't know about the Army, but if he was a Marine he would probably be "trained" to death before being forced to do hundreds of menial tasks over and over again. They are not only responsible for their spouses actions, but your own actions is defiant torture. That's why I have a plaque in my room that reads, "Be careful of the words you say, keep them soft and sweet, you never know from day to day, which ones you'll have to eat.
These are spectacular quotes! Witty and informative. My mother gave me a plaque years ago, "The 13th commandment: thou shalt not be a smartass." Compared to those proverbs, it explains so much about my life.
There’s a saying where I’m from and while the translation isn’t a smooth one, it goes: “You are a slave of what you say, and a master of what you don’t say.”
I'm a veteran, and yeah he's screwed. Officers and enlisted can't fraterniize, and his actions were unbecoming of a NCO. He probably got stamped with paperwork, maybe even lost a rank.
@@atelodev3048 it's a big deal because it's an officer and a soldier, not just two soldiers. That has the potential to lead to some pretty severe abuses of power dynamics which can cause a lot of problems
@@atelodev3048 Breaks order of leadership. What if they got together, and then they broke up, and were still in the same unit? Bad mojo. Also, it deters favoritism and the professional attitude officers must have at all times.
Hitting on a married 3 star general least punishment Article 39 loss of pay, a lose in rank, maybe both, worst punishment dishonorable discharge, and possibly jail. He violated so many articles of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) with his actions as an None Commissioned Officer (NCO).
he’d get that but not for fraternizing, he had no idea who she was so was guilty of everything but that. still the same punishment, NJP gets him 50% pay, extra duty, base confinement for 60 days alongside the reduction to E4 if not E3
I would have loved to have seen the expression on his face when he first entered the room and saw her face on the other side of that desk. Haha. Classic.
@@gliturkat6167 My cat's name is Leo ('cause I was a basic bitch twelve-year-old when we got him lol) but his NAME is "Babe, why are you yelling at me, I fed you like twenty minutes ago and you're ACTIVELY being pet"
Just for some context, according to the list on the website of the Department of Defense, she was 13 pay grades above him. 13! I can’t imagine that went well for him
Retired USAF here. I can reasonably assume that SSgt Schmuckatelli has attended the mandatory annual USAF Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) sessions since he first entered the service, since they are, well, MANDATORY. The official policy toward sexual harrassment is one of zero tolerance, though there is still a high incidence of occurences. The SSgt could have faced charges under the UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) for his actions. Punitive Article 92 (Failure to obey order or regulation), and Article 134 (General article, which covers multiple categories that are prejudicial towards good order and discipline) could have been applied, and he most probably recieved administrative discipline/Non-Judicial Punishment in the form of an Article 15 action which would go into his permanent record. This would not have been a court martial offense, even though it was a high profile event. What might have happened was that the SSgt's supervisor, First Sergeant, and Commander probably had no clue what had happened or what was going down, but it probably wasn't something good. However, they might have been made aware through back channels/good ol' boy network. Upon entering the office, the SSgt would have stepped to the front of the General's desk, saluted sharply, and then stood at attention. He probably recognized her at that point and had an internal "Oh, S@#T!" moment. The general probably asked him why he thought he had been called into her office, and somewhere in the conversation asked him if he had recieved his annual SAPR training. She might have pointed out to his immediate leadership that SSgt Schmuckatelli probably needed some refresher training on the subject. He would have not enjoyed the experience at all, and the fun would have continued once he returned to his unit. I used "probably" and "might have" a lot, since I wasn't there. However, I have been in similar circumstances as a supervisor and a First Sergeant. Sometimes it was hard to maintain a straight face while the miscreant was being read the riot act, but I can't say that I ever felt sorry for them. Actions have consequences.
It's really hard to say what would have happened as we weren't there. What I find odd is she didn't pull rank on him while PT'ing. If it was such an issue I know I would have. I had to pull rank on some males who thought it would be fun to hit on me like this jerk. That or I pulled I that I had kid at home. People don't understand that females in the military are rare. To sexually harass one and get caught and your command gets brought in on it oh you're boned majorly!!!! Trust me!
@@mumbles005 you are very right. Something hints of a power trip and not on his behalf. But I'm not an officer (thank the gods!!!) I only made to NCO before I got out. You know his OIC and SNCOIC riped a new one and maybe him repaint the parking lines if that. Then there were beers to be had.
@@mumbles005 Interesting opinion. Of course he just meant "Hang as friends." As for saluting indoors, you might have that confused with wearing a cover indoors; the only time you are authorized to wear a cover indoors is if you are under arms or as part of a ceremonial formation. He would have certainly saluted indoors and gave a reporting statement when he marched in and reported to her, or any other officer of any rank for that matter. EDIT: AFI 1-1 Air Force Standards is the reference, in case you were wondering.
Seeing as though adultery is illegal in the Military, he was informed that she was married and continually spoke in sexually charged language, he’s possibly looking at an Article 15 or court martial depending on his past record.
@SweetCinRoll Agreed. Retired Army here. From the description given, it depends on how far the General wants to take it. In any event, the guys Military career is a Clusterfuck from that point on. Though I would like to have been in the outer office just to hear the bitching out he got from all of them!! 🤣⚰️🇺🇸
My younger cousin is a Lance Corporal in the Marines. He'd only been in the Marines for about a year before his promotion, so I hope that means he's doing exceptionally well (I'm no soldier, so I don't know the "average" time frame it takes for people in specific branches of the military to earn a promotion). But yeah, even with me not being a soldier, I'm sure that guy is not going to enjoy however long he stays in the military.
yup. i loved my job. the biggest of big bosses there is fine guy. but our manager was joke and the female he chose as supervisor didnt do anything but smoke drink coffee complain and throw work at others.
So true. I worked in the IT department at a grocery warehouse for 8 years. During my time there the department was pretty much static on the worker side, but we had a couple different managers. The one who hired me and the one that followed were both competent, but when the second one left he was replaced with a career manager type with no IT background. He was a complete idiot and within a year half the department left, including myself.
That staff sgt would be praying for death long before it would actually arrive. I would say as soon as he laid eyes on her is internal monologue was something like "oh. Dear. Sweet. Baby. Jesus.... I am sooo screwed!" Hahaha! Yeah,... best case scenario, he loses rank and pay. Also he is now on EVERYONE'S radar. He is THAT guy. Crap detail coming up, who are we sending, yep. Need someone to make an example of, yep that's our guy. It would be bad enough if it was just his immediate command, but this has risen to a level where a 3 star now knows his name. Not good, not good at all. Yeah,... I'd rather just get discharged dishonorably and move on because he just MURDERED his military career.
By “THAT guy”, I presume you mean, “The guy who everyone now knows hits on [who he thinks are] his fellow soldiers’ wives.” Yeah...you don’t want to be that guy.
My dad was in the military and sister is doing a tour right now and both have seen the exact same thing happen numerous times. One of the times it was my sister being sexually harassed by a guy that was 3 stars under her she reported it and nothing happened he's now 1 star above her. So Staff Sergeant douchebag would have been fine. Sure there's sharp but 90% of the time this shit gets swept under the rug and forgotten about.
@@Hunglikeagrimsmo as a veteran, I can say with no reservations. All a woman has to do is make a serious accusation. For real though, if it's, the harassment, is a on going thing. All she would need is a small bit of evidence. One recording of one incident. Then she could point back at everything else that has happened. Not long ago in Ohio at Wright Paterson airforce base this happened. Whole chains of command got wiped out for the cover up. The base general was forced to retire in disgrace. If your sister is being harassed she can put a stop to it and destroy the harasser's in the process.
Ex Army here. What EXACTLY would have happened really depends on just how long ago this was, because in recent years, sexual harassment, sexual assault, and infidelity/adultery have become a large focus. In today's standards, at best he would get an article 15 under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. That would be slap on the wrist though, and today for sexual harassment and infidelity, that wouldn't fy--especially since we are talking about a SSG, not someone of really high rank. He is an NCO, but he isn't a super high ranking NCO, so he wouldn't be able to float above some of the rules as some higher ranks manage to do. What MOST likely occurred is his commander and his 1sg probably got a talking too. Then during that meeting, he was most likely informed that a sexual harassment investigation was going to happen. THEN, he was probably court-martialed. He would have been demoted (I've seen SSGs get demoted all the way back to PVT and then get dishonorably discharged at that point), and then, depending on how nice their leadership was feeling, that General could have let him finish his current term and written what is called a GOMOR (general officer memorandum of reprimand). A GOMOR ends careers. You cannot promote passed E4 (Specialist) and you cannot re-enlist for another term. This goes in your permanent record, and you get a discharge other than honorable if you are barred from re-enlistment this way (or leadership can request a lower discharge if memory serves me correctly). That is if the leadership is feeling nice. They COULD have simply demoted and then discharged this guy too. The above applies to infidelity as well, as the military has come down HARD on people cheating on their spouses, because of the nasty image it gives the military. So there you go. It's unlikely this guy continued to serve after that term, and even if he somehow avoided all of that (say the General cut him some slack and DIDN'T throw the book at him), he still would have at very least been demoted and barred for re-enlistment. These charges are very severe, and the military takes them as such. Now, I know there is army vs airforce potential, but the crackdown on these issues and how seriously they are taken, is military wide. I had a friend who was simply ACCUSED of sexual harassment, and it took the military are full YEAR to dismiss the claims. He was a freaking pariah that entire year too.
@@m.bombastic6402 Yeah, they don't fuck around. He even got a GOMOR, but luckily for him they kept it at the unit level rather than stick it in his overall record, so it would only effect him at his station. Of course, they wrote that before CID finished investigating, and even though they dismissed the charges, he can't get that GOMOR removed. Such crap
Yup, super creepy... reminds me of a song I like to call the 'creepy stalker song'. Dunno the proper title, unless it's literally the creepiest line of the whole thing... "I'll be watching you..." And another creepy line "oh can't you see, you belong to me" Yeah, I hate this song.... 😒 even if it's super catchy, simply for the message of those lyrics
Yugo wants to speak to your manager He wants you to pet him more, and give him those scratches he really likes, you know the ones behind the ear, and for you to throw the ball more.
The demotion is possible, but i would bet he got some "retraining" and few extra duty shifts to teach him a lesson. He would have defintely fucked himself for his next promotion.
19Loken80 DEFINITELY extra duty, demotion would probably depend on how actually offensive he was being toward the general and how much she felt like laughing it off.
Adultery wasn't the problem here. It was sexual harassment. And with SHARP (Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention) being increasingly prevalent, you can bet he was ripped a new one. Oh yeah, don't forget to add in disrespecting an officer - article 89 under the UCMJ. And article 134 (catch-all) for good measure.
as an air force veteran myself, I'm honestly surprised that encounter even went any further than the track. she likely would have had only to tell him off right then and there. sexual harassment is sexual harassment, and someone in as high a position as she was she would not have to worry about repurcusion. I yelled at a general to shut up once and didn't even get written up. time and place means everything.

That last story reminded me of another I heard, where a new dad was getting chewed out by his boss for his work quality going downhill since having a dad. He's been tired, calling in, having to go home early, etc. to help his wife with the new baby. His boss did not seem to comprehend why he, as the _man_ of the family, had to be so involved with the baby, and even proudly bragged that he's "never changed a diaper in my life." New dad clapped back with, "I would never admit to being so useless of a husband."
I hope OP showed the piece of paper around his colleagues as well, let them know there are places you get paid more for a guaranteed 8 hour day. You watch how many of them will be looking to jump ship soon after.
Air National Guard Female member: My unit would have kicked this person out. We had a crack down where we were getting briefings and training every 3-4 months. Even removing materials like Max Magazines from the Male locker room (females didn't have any materials). 3 incidents I experienced. 1 - My kid opened an inappropriate gift at our Christmas party gift exchange. Later, at a bbq, one of the guys was joking about it. The next day, I took him to a private room and respectfully asked him to keep my kids out of those kinds of jokes. No harm, no foul, no trouble, it ended. 2 - Inappropriate joke made at my promotion ceremony. I was asked in private if I was offended. I told my super that it was just a stupid joke made by someone who is always running his mouth. He's usually good natured and I didn't believe he meant anything malicious. If anything happened to him, it was a slap on the wrist. 3 - Female First Sergeant got all 3 of us females from my shop together and asked us privately in a meeting if anything was going on that we felt uncomfortable about. If I really wanted to burn someone and ruin his career, I feel like I can just because I'm a female. It makes me sick that women would falsely accuse someone of sexual harrassment or assault. It's not fair to those who were truly harassed and won't be believed because of those false accusations.
@@MortuusTemplum Am I correct in assuming you disagree with the "burn career" part? If that's the part you disagree with, I'd be glad to know that you're correct. I hate that some walk eggshells around me. On deployment, I was the only female member of a 5 man team. None of us knew each other before that deployment. When it came to getting in the car together, I always sat in the back seat just because it's my personal favorite seat in the car. At the beginning, they offered me the front passenger seat because they felt bad they were making the female sit in the back. I explained that I'm not offended with that kind of stuff and it's really just as sexist to give me the front seat just because I'm female. It helped break the ice so we could get along and they settled down.
@@iyaayas Correct, from what I have seen, usually if they are not repeat offenders then they are given another chance because there is that slim possibility the guy was just so ignorant that he didn't see his faults. That being said, it is usually only one chance, depending of severity. If a male outright grabs a females butt then he is out.
@@MortuusTemplum it's mostly the NSFW jokes and conversations my unit usually talks about. Maintenance workers who have stereotypical sailors mouths. I've been with my unit for 12 years now. My shop has done a complete 180. During my college years and I didn't have time for fun, they'd go out all the time every drill weekend. They'd have those subjectively offensive conversations more frequently. Now all but 5 are gone (retired, different units, etc) and the noobs and leaders of my shop are cleaner than a baby's bottom after a bath. Huge culture shift. I personally like it but they've become boring. Nobody hangs out anymore. While they laugh, there's a sadness/boredom behind it. The old people talk about the good old days when we use to go out to do things together, the days I missed out on and looked forward to. Sure, there was a lot of offense but at least we didn't walk on eggshells together. Now, there's the concern that one report will ruin that person's career, even if the report is false.
Thank you for standing up for those of us who are 💯 legitimate sexual assault and abuse survivors, as I’m among way too many, unfortunately. I’m also among many fellow survivors who have had the same cringe response to things like the “me-too” movement. Instead of helping and supporting actual survivors, it brought out the worst in humanity’s females, who have no moral compass and would gladly take advantage of the whole “believe all women” ideology. This complete mockery creates hostility toward those who need all the help and support they can get in recovering from their trauma. And unfortunately, sexual assault and abuse are equal-opportunity offenders; regardless of how a person identifies, being victimized is a real possibility. And in my honest opinion, the current social climate only exasperates this. I’ve never been in the military, but my dad was an Army veteran, and both of my brothers are Air Force Veterans. So I have a lot of respect for those who step up to serve and defend our country and the freedoms that us civilians will never fully understand the price you’ve paid to make it happen, and I’m really glad that you have programs like SHARP in place for every service member’s benefit.

My Dad was in the navy. I remember being told about the time my father an enlisted man at the time punched a lieutenant and did not get in trouble for it. My mom was on the base I think she was pushing a stroller. The lieutenant made a comment as she walked by. He said something like "I'd like to see that swing on my front porch." Dad heard it and slugged him. The lieutenant ended up in trouble for comments not becoming an officer.

Staff Sargent probably peed in his pant and underwear the moment he walk in to that office . His COs might have face palmed themselves HARD after understanding the situation.
The guy who said “most employees don’t quit their jobs they quit their bosses” was 100% right, any job I’ve ever quit I’ve left due to ignorant shady managers/owners.
So fricken true, even a dumpy job can keep workers if the bosses make it worth their while. Treat the hardest workers like their family and a slack offs like they could be out of there that day if their shit isn't together.
So many bosses or wannabe bosses just want power, without any idea how to use it wisely. They just desperately need to inflate their tiny egos by acting like tinpot Hitlers, cracking their whip for the sheer pleasure of knowing that they have a whip to crack, and can strike at people who can't retaliate - cowards as well as bullies.
The puppy bloopers were my favorite part here. I can totally relate to trying to do something only for my doggo to interrupt me so I can pet him or play with hime.

it wasn't so much his opening his mouth, it was his refusal to close it after the first rebuff. And his attitude in assuming that any female on the base was a military wife and not a military person in her own right. And that any military wife would be up for adultery
In the British Army doing this sort of thing can be a courts martial offence. Automatic courts martial offence that is. Specifically if it is found that you tried to use your rank to get favours with someone else's wife (of lower rank) don't expect your career to last more than a few days. One Company Sergeant I used to know (basically the Captains right hand man and earmarked as someone to become a Warrant Officer) found out that a newly promoted Sergeant was doing precisely this with new recruits (incredibly rare but it happens every 5 to 10 years). He had been a Drill Sergeant in the past before yet another promotion (he was I think two or three steps above normal Sergeant). He told me he bawled him out and used his very own special insult reserved for such occasions "by the time I'm finished with you, you'll be demoted so far you'll be saluting civilians". He marched him strait into the Captains office (this conduct is considered serious enough to warrant immediate action by the Captain and the only time you don't go strait into the office is if the Captain is with higher ranks - most Captains will drop anything that is not an operational imperative to sort things this serious out). The captain looked at the written evidence etc then went into another room and called for the privates and questioned them. The MP's took him and he was out of the Army in less than a week and lost his pension. I believe in some situations it can lead to criminal charges.
I am a retired Paralegal Noncommissioned Officer. Over the course of my career, I worked in the Military Justice Office (Prosecutor), the Trial Defense Service Office (Defender), the Legal Assistance Office (help with administrative actions) and myriad other branches of the JAG office. The Chain of Command has several options when disposing of misconduct: LEAST severe - Do nothing. Verbal reprimand (Butt-chewing) Written reprimand (Counseling statement) Administrative Action (Letter of Reprimand or an evaluation that removes Sergeants from leadership positions) Summary Nonjudicial Punishment (Commander-imposed light punishment for minor offenses) Nonjudicial Punishment (Commander-imposed punishment that may include reduction in rank and forfeiture of pay) Summary Court-Martial (Trial by an appointed Officer) MOST severe - Court-Martial (Trial before a military judge which may have a panel, the military equivalent of a jury) For a Servicemember to have committed an offense under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, he has to have met the elements of the offense by committing certain acts and/or using certain language. Depending on the course the Chain of Command chooses and on the quality of the evidence gathered, any of the previously-described courses action may have been taken. And a combination may have been taken. There's a comment in the thread that says he was demoted and forfeited pay. Maybe. Courts-Martial and Article 15s are public record. It would be easy for someone to find out. Not me, though. I'm retired. This is a boiled-down version of the Military Justice process. There is a HELL of a lot to conducting a court-martial or even an Article 15 that space doesn't allow. If anyone wants to know more.... call your local JAG office. I"m retired.
I was thinking it's probably an article 15 unless this guy has a paper trail history in which case they'd just court martial him or some sort of admin separation with less than honorable discharge. probably whatever the Lt. General wanted.
Normally, I'm in favor of a verbal or written reprimand. But, the thing is that sergeant is a predator who doesn't know when to quit. Now pictures this: sometimes in the future he gets a young and pretty recruit under his command. What do you think this girl (who is fresh off basic training or HS) chances of fending him off? If I was this 3-stars I would end this guy's career. It does 2 things: 1) Protect those under her command, 2) Sends a number of messages that many can draw to various conclusions
So I was a US Army Officer . What he's doing is a violation and is punishable by taking rank and pay, a dishonorable discharge or even being thrown in military jail

In a situation where any troop approaches an individual to "shoot their shot", one of two things can happen: 1) The individual being approached says "No", and that's the end of that. You don't poke at the subject anymore, and you leave it alone. You don't ask again, and you leave them alone. 2) The individual being approached says "Yes", and you go from there, assuming neither individual is married. Side note, adultery is very much illegal in the US military, as the military follows not only the same laws civilians do, but also military laws outlined by the UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) and MCM (Manual for Courts-Martial). If you decide to keep poking at the situation, after the individual says "no" over and over again, you can be reported for sexual harassment, to which the military (especially in the past couple of years) has taken incredibly seriously. You can get into A LOT of trouble for any sort of behavior involving sexual harassment and/or sexual assault. The individual in the first story, especially if it was a recent story, he probably received A LOT OF TROUBLE with harassment (continually poking at trying to get with said 3-Star) and attempting to engage with an individual while knowledgeable of her marital status. In other words, he's absolutely "Eff'd".

I try to give you a thumbs up on every video but it to be honest I lose track when I get into the story either way keep up the good work I appreciate ya.
In the Navy, fraternization among enlisted and Officers could possibly give you mast. You do not want to go to mast. Basically, it’s when you’re put in front of your commanding officer and they decide what’s going to happen to you. It can threaten your rank if it’s minor or they could just be dismissed from their duties if it’s serious. Moral of the story is to just follow the rules. For the record, these punishments I listed were for frat between officers and enlisted.
the AF is very strict on this, so strict that even spouses try not to frat with other spouses for the most part. We keep it friendly but no social gatherings. I imagine it can get really lonely being a General's spouse.
I love your voice and your laugh! You’ve really put together a fun channel. My friends must be sick of me prattling on about the various stories you share. And yes, I always tell people to subscribe when they seem interested. 😊😎 Thank you RSLASH!
Military brat here! Adultery will get you into hot water VERY fast, especially if you're a higher command. My dad once told me the reasoning was, "How are you going to lead soldiers if you can't even lead your family?" And my mom would say that, "You'd basically be throwing your whole income and job away if you get caught." It would only take one call. One report of adultery, committed or attempted, to be kicked the fuck out.
Ive ranted about this so much in the past; I had a job at a pizza place that boasted about fast pizza. Things happened, tensions happened, and everything was both of our faults(me and my boss). Sorry. I like to rant lol. I could go into detail about what makes me hate my old boss so much, but what broke the camel's back was her callingme poison to the store. Granted, i did have a bad attitude, but you try working 5/6 days a week with the boss in the morning, with no variation, and not have a bad attitude. I had put applications in to multiple places, and was willing to take third shift if it got me away from there, but the first place that contacted me was another pizza place that i had forgotten i had applied to.(Im MUCH happier, less panic attacks) They ask if i can start on a certain day, and despite being scheduled that day, i said yes. And you wanna know what i was scheduled the *next* day? A 10 hour, 9-7, opening shift, where I wouldve been the one on drive thru. Please note, that the coworker who wouldve worked that morning as well, sucked butt at drive thru, and the boss was old and 'couldnt walk back and forth like that'. Not to brag, but i was hecking good at my job. The only thing i couldnt do, was manager duties; though one of the managers did recommend making me one, but the boss took me back for a talk, and told me no. Asked me if i even wanted to, and while im not good with people and didnt really want the responsibility, i wouldve liked to have been told they considered it, instead of just blowing it off. Again, sorry for the rant, but the construction story made me think about that job, and im in a slight mood from remembering kittens that have died, so it made me upset lol. In other news, would you like a little brother kitten for your Hugo?
"but you try working 5/6 days a week with the boss in the morning, with no variation, and not have a bad attitude" , not thard hard, it is called being a normal decent human being, but hey people are always the victim, not the perpetrator...
beunhaas You are *so* right. It’s not like I clarified that the tensions were both mine *and* the bosses fault. Do you want me to edit it for you? “Try working 5-6 mornings a week, with no variation, with a boss you hate, a coworker who is her yes man, and not have an attitude.” Happy?
