Some more info on the philosopher who laughed himself to death, or at least the fig story: -figs were incredibly expensive at the time -pretty sure the philosopher owned the donkey -the donkey ate more than it's own worth in figs -upon learning how much the donkey ate, the philosopher told his servant to fetch the donkey a type of wine that was also worth more than the donkey to wash the figs down -this is when the philosopher started laughing In short, the philosopher laughed himself to death to avoid paying more than a donkey's worth of fruit that he didn't even get to eat

The joke that Chrysippus died laughing at was actually pretty simple, he said "get the donkey some wine to wash down the figs." But it's the context that makes it funny. Figs back then were really expensive, they were luxury items. Chrysippus's donkey got into the figs, and there was a servant who was watching this, horrified. Undiluted wine was also very expensive and luxurious, and Chrysippus said to his servant, "fetch some wine so the donkey can wash down his figs." It's the equivalent of a rich person's mansion being on fire, a complete disastrous inferno, and the rich person looking their butler in the eye and going "could you put a log or two on, it's rather chilly."
