@@wargamesmaster Yep, except that it's $250,000 and up to 3 years in jail, and the feds don't do parole, so there is no time off for good behavior, if you get 3 years, you serve 3 years.

I feel the buttholes who did this got away with it.. If I was that professor I would sue for all previous damages and also got the feds involved. As for their medical bill I would response with the suggestion that next time they should use their teeth instead of baseball bat.

I dunno, Feds can have a sense of humor if you're not their target. A group of feds were out here in this small town I live in a decade-ish back to deal with an asshole guy running from the feds. Because bush planes and boats are the only ways in or out, two of the feds and the asshole flew out on one bush plane, then a storm moved in and stranded the other two. No one was willing to put them up for the night because, you know, small town full of people that like their privacy and feds don't make a good combination. I was talking with the two guys when I was at the local library and offered to put them up until the storm passed. Long story short, they saw the bong sitting out on my table and after some ribbing that its technically a federal crime they ignored it. They had a couple beers, we gambled with some poker, and they just hung out for a couple days until planes flew again. They ended up having to borrow some clothes so they could wash their uniforms, enjoyed my sauna, and relaxed. They're pretty cool guys, all said and done. I still get Christmas cards from them as a thanks.

The same is true about reading other peoples mail. If you're caught reading other peoples mail, it is a federal crime too.

Dont matter your country either. In Australia its the same as in the US, you are messing with the mail service therefore it falls under a Federal crime. In the UK it falls under a different law, but still the same. Because the mail in the UK is the Royal Mail, even though its known as the Royal Mail Group Ltd, an individual company, they use the Royal crest as their logo, therefore they also fall under the Royal Family guidelines. So messing with the UK mail service means you are messing with the Royals, not something you want to be charged with LOL

Makes it all the more satisfying when the higher ups see the true colors of these horrible people.

They loved the results that came out of our office and just assumed it was because of this person...no that was because there was an office full of people who cared about the work they produced. They were cities away so they never got to witness the day to day shittiness this person displayed.

The best ones are where everyone ends up leaving and making a new company in the same line of work, stealing all the jobs of the old company. The new company excels due to actually getting work done, while the douche who ruined everything is still a high-up at the old company, which is now worthless.

It's rare in the UK (I think, I live WAY out in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales, so it's probably more an urbanised problem), but from what I know, it's your problem in the UK. FWIK, your mailbox is your property, NOT Royal Mail's property. So if it gets twatted by a big fuck-off 4x4, it's down to you to sort it.

It’s just part of human speech to have words less appropriate than others because of the stigmas attached to the object/thing the word has been assigned. And for that reason any society is going to have stigmatized words. You can’t just believe hard enough to make the no-no words go away.

My question, too. In the US, "shamble" means to walk jerkily or a place being in disarray. So, a zombie shambles, and the crazed toddler leaves a room in shambles when his parent isn't watching.
