Update on the "David" story. The user "MostlyGruntled" died in May 2020 due to injuries resulting from an auto accident, but his widow gave an update. These are her words: Site Manager. He started as planned in the new position on a building project for a distribution centre. Mark had already said what Site Manager and David were unhappy about. Being on a fixed 18 month contract as a self employed person was a disadvantage compared to being an employee. But that was before the coronavirus. After the virus hit most of the employees were laid off, some were furloughed, but because of the contract the company had to keep paying the Site Manager in full. What he thought was a bad thing turned out to be his saviour. Noisy Gobshite. The last that David could tell me about Noisy Gobshite was that he has been forced to divest his share of the business so he no longer owns a third. He had to sign a personal liability agreement regarding his assets in the event of total liabilities being greater than the value of the company. The way I understand that is that if, for example, the total bills for Noisy Gobshite's mistakes are more than the company can pay, then Noisy Gobshite must pay the extra even if that means he loses his house. He had to give up his share of the business because they couldn't keep trading if he was involved. He needs them to keep going to pay the lawyers. He hasn't been charged with a crime yet but it's certain that he will. They take a long time investigating and preparing before they charge him. Something to do with needing to be ready to go to court once he is charged. It also came to light that he had a warning for similar but much more minor damage to a listed building in 2011. David has been told that during the investigation some "irregularities" we're discovered by the local authority and were referred to HMRC (the tax man) and Noisy is also being investigated for VAT fraud. One of the earliest comments on Mark's story said "expensive cup of coffee". An understatement if ever I've seen one. The big news was going to be about Noisy Gobshite and the sexual assault/rape of one of the P.A.s in the ACC offices in 2017 and sexual harassment of other staff too. The rape/assault did happen but wasn't Noisy Gobshite. It was a former Finance Director. Stories about sexual harassment of female staff have not developed and turned out to be just rumour. David. Financially and workwise he is probably one of the few people who were not affected by the covid19 outbreak. Because he works on his own and has no social distancing issues he has continued almost as usual. He said work is easier because, in his words "the usual plonkers are not there to trip on my equipment or stick plank ends into my finished work". Personally, David is not doing so well. Outside of family David took Mark's death worse than anybody. He tries not to show it in front of me. When he is with me he is a rock. He has saved me from myself. He is one of three people where I feel I can really let go about Mark. Or so I thought. I spoke to David's wife last week and she was so sweet and sympathetic about it but she had to tell me to hold back a little with David. He looks strong to me but his wife says it's shattering him. I knew he and Mark were good friends. She says he has taken Mark's death very badly. She says in all their marriage she only saw him cry once when their dog died. She didn't see him cry when his parents passed. She says he seems lost now and has cried quite a few times. The worst thing to hear is that the time he cries is after he has been to see me. I feel terrible. It's obvious that he was grieving but I didn't know I was putting so much on him. I'm going to be more careful and stop using him to vent all my pain. I wish she had spoken sooner. Or maybe I should have been aware of it instead of being so selfishly focused on my own grief. That's as much as I know about the updates. They are waiting to see what Noisy gets charged with. If he is guilty of damage to listed buildings he might go to prison. If he is guilty of VAT fraud he'll almost definitely go to prison. Either way the fine will e six figures. David said he wondered if he'd like prison coffee. He's got evil sense of humour.

As someone who has also worked at the casino as a dealer, i totally understand this person. i had some dude who would come drunk, drink a lot more there and then flirt with every woman that walked past him, whether it was staff or guests. i hated the dude. what was fun was when someone told his wife where he went every end of the month. she came in, asked to see him and then when she saw wat he was doing, she just told him that she was gonna divorce him. his face was priceless!!! i understand later on he was also cheating with her bff and that everything he "owned" was actually on her name. after the divorce, even the "bff" left him for another rich dude

If people were just relatively honest and respectful, they won't have to worry about these issues.

I can understand David; in my area, there are plenty of houses dating as far back as the eightteenth century. Particularly the victorian-styled buildings are particularly pretty. Sadly, whenever they're restored, the owners/architects can't be bothered to restore the wrought iron balcony rails and replace them with straight, modern pols that are a complete eyesore.

Ah the greatest word to have ever been used: cockwomble. Brings a tear to my eye, everytime

I live in a somewhat rural market town in south west england and a couple years ago we had windows replaced in our edwardian era house. We were meant only to have them reframed and replaced with new glass etc (we had double glazed but it was falling apart a bit). So my mum being smart and having been effed about before by construction workers had every decision made over recorded phone calls, emails, recorded and transcripted conversations etc to cover her back. Basically one day nobody was able to be in the house during one of the working days where they were removing material and putting windows in my mums room and they literally cut out a structural support that was holding the wall up above the window (obviously originally the window was put in first but it's an old house with weird archways and overhangings). She had thankfully taken photos beforehand as with everything else, took them to court they eventually settled covering all our legal fees, full refund and they had to finish the job and pay for the extra costs of repairing the broken wall, broken stone brick wall. Was very stressful for my parents but shows them not to make decisions without clients permissions. Ps we did try and settle before going to court they tried to negate any responsibility naturally

For anyone who doesn't quite get the building stuff for the UK, part. It's called "Grey Listed" meaning that it has historical meaning, can't be torn down but only fixed. Look at places like Burton (a place that made beers) or some bridges that can from the time where knights were around. These things are practically untouchable

What you left out of that last revenge was that even though the money from the chattel execution was returned to the landlord, the good seized and sold at auction would have been sold at a lower amount than they were worth new (or possibly even second hand as the bidders are likely trying to turn a profit on the goods they are bidding on). Therefore, to replace the amount of goods seized in the chattel execution would cost more than the payment would have. Extra bonus on the revenge.

I can attest to the casino story - I work security for a casino and I've seen people like this. People get so upset when things don't go their way - being denied a drink, being asked not to smoke at a non smoking game, even going off when told kids can't be on the gaming floor.

For some context "Listed Buildings" are on a heritage order by local authorities, everything is listed for its significance so you can actually have atleast two architects, one historical and your official architect. So traditionally if something happens, like a wall collapses or when removing a non-original piece other structures are revealed, that means a reassessment, and there is usually regular inspections for compliance.
