I had a husky/golden retriever born on Valentines, his name was Valentino but shortened to Tino. On his head, his hair made the shape of a heart and we thought it was absolutely adorable.

I’ll shed a light on the korean system. There’s a visible divide between poor and wealthy. Boss and employee, the teacher receiving blackmail money to pass a student is quite common, people in higher positions usually know each other and can ruin your life, if the teacher didn’t accept the money he’d be out of job and he would probably not work in the same industry as they’d believe in the chairman more than the teacher, probably the teacher was fed up but couldn’t do anything but help the student who wouldn’t get as much in trouble as he would. The chairman chewing him out in front of everyone, is actual really common behavior in korean business set up as the higher ups prefer when the underdog takes the sole blame for the bosses mishandling of stuff.

I went through several predictions when Jane showed up. First: OP is going to gush about his nephew, and then casually mention what happened with Paul. Big blowup and divorce follow. "Jane is heavily pregnant": They're going to chat about the experience, and OP is going to relate Sara's experience and, again, casually mentioning Paul's name. Same outcome as before. "Looking for a unique name": He's going to suggest Valentina, which Jane will bring to Paul, and will lead to an argument where the truth comes out. Blowup, divorce, etc. "What about Sara?": Same outcome as before, just with a different name. I don't know if I like Paul suffering in silence more or less than him losing his side chick, but it was still a satisfying ending.

the fact that rslash walks to the back of his room to yell 'freebird' really makes you appreciate his effort

The school stories are my favorite on reddit. I think we’ve all had that teacher or classmate that we wish to get revenge on.

I'm so glad the judges in the first story made it a point to talk about the real-world repercussions of Jane's plagiarism. That's something a lot of schools fail to talk about. In an academic setting, plagiarism gets you an automatic zero for the assignment, an automatic zero for the course as a whole, and possible suspension or expulsion from the school. But in the real world, plagiarism can get you sued, leaving you out thousands or even millions of dollars. On top of that, it leads to a loss of your reputation, your job, and being blacklisted by the industry, meaning no one will ever want to work with you again. How do I know this? Because my parents once commissioned a piece of artwork (several game fish in a lake) from an artist in Northern Wisconsin, the artist made prints of it with my parents' permission. Another "artist" saw one of those prints, bought it, added one minor detail (a fisherman on a boat) in the background, and started selling it as his own original piece. My parents discovered this edited print while shopping at a store in the area a year later. My parents very nearly sued the guy, but opted not to (although I think they should have, as it was their original idea being stolen). I don't know if the artist my parents commissioned the work from ever sued, but we never saw that edited print sold ever again. So either the guy was sued and was forced by the court to stop selling the clearly plagiarized work, or was threatened with legal action unless he stopped selling it. But the original piece hangs proudly on our living room wall, above our piano.

That “Free Bird” took me right back to that scene in the Rust-Eze tent.

I’ve been to quite a few concerts, and love to yell “La Cucaracha!” out when they do the “song requests”. Usually gets a laugh out of the crowd, and one band *actually* played it - which was even more hilarious when understood that this happened in the early 2000’s at a grunge/punk rock show. Moshing to La Cucaracha is equal parts fun and funny.

I thought OP was going to tell the new wife everything and destroy his marriage but that was a pretty wholesome ending. And, I'm sure the wife will eventually find out or the husband will have to constantly deal with the guilt and agony in silence. Serves him right.

Damn that hysterectomy story hits way to close to home, my dad was so stupid and refused to take my mom to the hospital for an infection in the area and ended up no longer being able to have kids for it. All because he was to lazy to take her to the hospital, just like he did for the cat we had that died because of him.

As someone who used to work in the rock music industry, I still think it is hilarious every time someone yells Freebird! Any time my friend's bands played, **I** was the one yelling "Freebird!" in the audience. Hell, I laughed as soon as I heard it on this video. lol There could be an actual story behind it, but from what I understood, the humor comes from the fact that people would yell for the original band (Lynard Skynyrd) to play this song that was very popular on the radio only to get a 15-20 minute long live jam version that got real old, real fast. O.o
