NEW MUSICAL EXPRESS (U.K) Review by Andy Gill (1986):
"Glad Music" has convinced me that R. Stevie Moore is a genius of a rare order, with the ability to marshall a bewildering diversity of styles and influences and mould them into something quite peculiarly his own. He's one of the few practitioners of post-modernist cross-pollination with the wit and sheer taste to produce a worthy hybrid. Buy this record and make him a tax exile."
SOUNDS (U.K) Review by Jack Barron (1986):
"Glad Music is Stevie's first proper studio project to date. Up until now, so far as I can recall, his albums have been splattered with the low-tech efforts that he puts out by the hundreds via his cassette club. I once said that Stevie was the Black Hole of pop music, and that holds true on this album which traipses through metal, country, psychedelia and what have you."

Not only is this song a banger 40 years on but this music video with its raw, unedited, candid footage doesn't look at all out of place in today's world of spontaneous smart phone recordings. R. Stevie Moore is a cultural prophet.

Someone tell me what I'm s'posed to Do when the occasion comes Around for me to prove I am Good I can't find the answer to the Question even though I'd like to Demonstrate, if only I Could You are just part of the problem I must be most of the problem Funny people always come to Me about their inhibitions But there's no solution at all I would like to help but I am Usually too busy to Prevent the way my friends want to fall You are just part of the problem I must be most of the problem And consequently, the combination Of your rhetoric and my ignorance Only tends to horrify the situation to the point where The lifeblood of our relationship evaporates Into the air on which we choke I wanna show you that I Can't be any more inspiring Just leave me alone until the Time comes when I learn the answer Then I'll write a novel 'bout it You can read the novel and the Problem will be solved and we can Then go back to living in an Ordinary way and all the People all around us can say They are really happy That the novel was successful And they know just how to cope with today Possible, impossible It's possible, impossible It's probable, improbable now Possible, impossible It's possible, impossible It's probable, improbable now You are just part of the problem
