It looks marvelous to this day. It originally wasn’t gonna be an r-type game

Honestly, R-Type Leo should have stayed as an actual R-Type game because to me it seems as though everything in that game fits perfectly within the R-Type universe.

I think the main complaint is how uninspired and blocky some of the designs are. It control wells and plays great. Here's hoping for another one in the future. I just love R Type.

Me too, I agree with your unpopular opinion. Final 2 has room for improvement but is fantastic. I’m just glad it exists and is good. Better than Final 1.

@@ostravia Sloppy ai? What the fuck lol. Have you ever played an r-type game? There is no ai, it's just patterns.

@@nunyabusiness9056 Yes I've done them all and there is AI because this game adjusts its difficulty on the fly independent of difficulty settings. See the developers notes.

That’s exactly what I was trying to do. It’s why I picked Leo, well for R-type Leo. Some Japanese player already found all the ships somehow. The ships properties were slit up. The one I chose is to have so s if it’s abilities. I just wanted to exhibit the Ragnaroks unique force module.

Sadly looks like the Ragnarok 2 might be abit nerfed. Reason I say that is that is because it's lesser version, the Strike Bomber, has had it's Mega Wave cannon damage changed to be pretty comparable to other ship cannons, it doesn't just still obliterate every enemy/boss in a single shot even into higher difficulties like in Final 1 because it's a 2 max charge Giga Wave. You'll probably be able to still do some cool and satisfying 1-shots with the Giga Wave when it does come out, but probably only with high charges when it does eventually come out.

I just hope they don't start charging for the rest of the ship. Was already disappointed that the DLC wasn't included in the game but I guess the game isn't going to make itself.

I like the design better in the retro games. The remakes were both feel good to play.

I was wondering that myself. At first I thought it was the missiles I was using but I switched and the same problem happened. Only happens on that stage. I'm also playing on Switch if that helps give you insight.

I tried playing this on R-Typer and there is no way I can beat that if I mess up in the Leo stage. Those columns are sturdy and those diagonal shooters are a nightmare. I'm okay with playing those stages on just Bydo. The main course is reasonable in R-Typer and above.

@@MegaYoYo This stage pretty much requires a perfect run through. I'm using Leo2 for this stage and can almost comfortably get to columns. Having red laser, missiles and Psy Bits makes overcoming columns a lot easier for as long you destroy as much segments as possible. There is more curves at next checkpoint, but it's possible to recover most of Leo's power up until the boss battle. I'm yet to face it fully powered, but I'm afraid that using anything other than TX-T or some other ship with similar Force. I'll still try to beat it with Leo2.

I finally finished it. If you know how to position yourself, it's manageable. Maybe I'll made video about how I did it.

Honestly 3 in general was easier than leo or the original 2 if I'm being honest. Makes sense though since Leo was the last arcade rtype while 3 was the first console only rtype. One was made to sucker punch you for quarters while the other was meant to be theoretically beatable on th first try.

@@gokillyourselfgoogle For me Leo is quiet fair even on hardest settings. I can get through level 1 to 4 not dying once. Level 5 isn't too hard until boss section, but I can learn it's pattern and beat it no problem. Last level isn't that hard either. Of course dying during some sections and especially bosses can make things difficult. It's a coop game as well, which negates most challenges, at least in my experience. I'm sure people could've spend some quarters on this game, but I'm sure after any Darius game or Salamander 2 people would feel much more relaxed with it's challenges. R-Type 3 on the other hand is kinda hard for me. I did managed to beat first loop, but couldn't beat level 4 on second loop. There is things to learn about each level and they can drag a little too long for my liking. I like this game a lot. By "original 2" you mean R-Type 2? Such a piece of trash that game is. It has the most ridiculous level design any of any R-Type game in the series.

Except of course, the Ship's Hitbox.

That hit box is so small. I took awhile to get used to the new hotbox in final 2

Honestly, they could have at least make these remade stages look as bright and colorful as their original counterparts so they could stand out from the rest of the game. They just look so bland, drab and dull so far.

@@chilly6470 Not sure your going to read this a year on but 100% agree I have done all Final 2 to date and Stage 3 Delta would be an Epic fit into my level design editor.
