This week I was invited last minute to take part in one of the Ducati Media days in Warwickshire, to ride two Panigales - I consider myself extremely spoiled here.
Excluding a short go on a Scrambler a few years ago, this is my first time riding any Ducati, I've never really tried to get on one because I feel like it's a slippery slope to expensive choices, but here we are, sliding away merrily.
Sadly my GoPro did not record the full ride on this bike so I've done my best with what it did record, but unfortunately I'm missing the good half, so this upload is barely a first ride impression video but I thought you might enjoy it any way.
Update on the GoPro situation will follow fairly soon :)

I considered a Panigale V2 and V4 before getting my S1000RR. I think they are less of a daily / sport tourer, would be nice to have one for sunny Sunday blasts though. I nearly dropped the V2 doing a U turn on a test ride! I get very anxious on test rides too.

Can't wait to see you ride the V4!!😎 My riding buddy has a V2 called Desmond. He is a Ducati tart lol, then bought a mate for Desmond when he's sitting on trickle charge in the shed - a brand new streetfighter..... named Debbie!

You can get Kriega US-DRYPACK bags and mount strapes. Gives a good range of sizes/combinations. Have used the kit on my 899 Panigale and it works well for weekends away. Bags allow other gear to be straped on too. I have ridden a Panigale V2 extensively with some rides over 500km. It's an easy bike to ride on the road/track.

Pinky shouldn’t be worried, she really is stuck with me now. Any bikes I like would be bikes I would want in addition to Pinky, so she’s safe. So tired of the weather, it’s been windy for weeks now and I’m exhausted by it 😅 hoping for a break from it for a bit before I go to Iceland and have to deal with it there as well

Probably! I have kept most of my bikes as I was offered nothing for each one as a trade in incentive! 😢 The screen on the one you rode looked a good design 😊

@@ianhoyle8459 Ah that's a shame, I have a feeling that'll happen with Pinky if I ever decide to part with her, but it sort of discourages me from looking at new bikes, so it's probably a good thing. I'm spoiled with my BMW TFT dash, so I was a little disappointed by the Ducati ones but looking into it, they have apps you can download on your phone that record various things so most of what I'm missing is still accessible just not on the bikes dash...

Nice 🙂 I have the 1299 and kriega makes some nice luggage for it. I personally prefer carrying everything in a backpack (R35 with an OS pack for overflow) because I don't want to attach stuff to the bike (it's too pretty).

I could get Kriega stuff onto the back easily I think, it's still a bit limiting if you can't also get panniers on there, but for less gritty trips it'd be ok :D

My trips on “The Very Red Bike” haven't been too challenging and the most I’ve had to carry; the kit for 4 to 5 days of marshalling at Phillip Island, has fit in my setup with only a little bit of persuasion. I have been thinking about riding to Brisbane (from Melbourne) which could test things, but that’s still very much a pipe dream. There must be someone out there who makes pannier frames for the Panigale but, so far, I’ve been too vain to looking into it..

Hi Liz, great video! I’d have been nervous as well on those tyres in the wet. Can I ask what mount you use for your Intsa X3 camera please? As mine never stays where I position it. Edit to say, is it a genuine RAM mount?

Thanks! Mine is the Insta 360 mount but they’ve changed the design since I bought it so it’ll look slightly different in their website

It was comfortable for me, a little different - the footrests are lower and further back than I was expecting - it’s not as extreme a riding position as you’d expect. I reckon I could happily do a long distance trip on it 😅.

I don't think she used the quick shifter at all but that's something she probably does not have a good knowledge of.Great video 😊

Oh no I have heard of quick shifters 😂 I don’t know why I’m not in the habit of using them every time, I think it’s because for my first 5 years of riding I didn’t have them on my bikes and it took a while for me to get the hang of them when I finally did. Generally now, unless I’m accelerating or decelerating hard I don’t use them, but on these bikes I should have because I can hear my manual gear changes were absolutely awful 😂
