I've driven well over 1,000 miles of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, but all in open-wheeled cars. How will I do in a stock car? How hard could it be!?

Kenseth has an appropriate sponsor because that move makes him an absolute tool. The game really did you a dirty twice there. First for Kenseth and then for not being a caution.

Physics has happened. Very unfortunate. Confidence looked very on/off, but pace was there. I'm still amazed that the AIs just yeet it into T1 despite the cold tires. Then again they probably don't have tire temps to worry about. The worst part of this is not that Kenseth is now public enemy number 2 (number 1 is Jarrett of course), but that now I must hate Kenseth which would be like hating Frentzen during the F1 99 season. I can't.

Maybe if I was a bit bolder I wouldn't have been in that situation. But I hate that damn side-by-side hit box contact! This is the thing, everything I know about Kenseth has led me to liking him too, so it's disappointing it was him. Where's Jarrett when you need him.

It was definitely on Kenseth. He had little space but he had no right to the space you were in. Two technical things: the clear/cloudy weather only affects the track temperature. The second one is you can throw a caution yourself too. It's a bit "cheaty" so it's up to you but I would have definitely did that in this case - it happened to me too often too 😫You can set one of the quick chats iin Options/Other to !yellow $ and so you can throw the yellow flag by pressing that chat number. There's also a way to clear a black flag, or give back a lap to yourself but I don't know the commands.

I rewatched the replay many more times and my opinion swayed a lot, so it's good to hear my initial instinct was correct. That's interesting, so I don't actually have to worry about engine temps more on a clear day - good to know! I was vaguely aware of the manual caution as c0rvinn did it when we recorded The Winston together and my game crashed so he threw the yellow. I don't know if I'd actually throw it myself, but I suppose if it's a really silly one that hasn't been called it would be good to have the option. I'll set it up so I have it, thanks!

You've caught up so fast, I apologise for how slow this series is. 😅 The Glen is filmed and will be out a week today. There's an Indy 500 video coming later today.

@@TheOutsideLine I've got too much time on my hands and a varatious apetite for good racing! Now that I can't afford to race anymore I like to watch good racing and you supply that in spades, helps that the presentation, hosting and commantary is top notch as well! I've got notifications on so I wont miss a vid hopefully.

@@TheOutsideLine yh I raced for 10 years in karts, was a great time and I reached a high level but didn't have the money to keep going or move into cars. Unfortunatly the speed isn't transfered to games and sims :( ,My profile pic is a shot taken of me at Le Mans for the world championship (didnt win that one unfortunatly). And it doesnt matter what level you race at, good racing is good racing, as long as it's close and competitve i'm happy!

That's awesome! Sucks that you weren't able to continue, but we all know about the financial burden of motorsports so you certainly aren't alone in that. And it's great you got to do it, and to go to Le Mans for the World Championship is incredible. Giancarlo Fisichella also went to Le Mans for the World Karting Championships and didn't win, so you're in good company! And absolutely - if it's close and good racing that's all that matters!

100% Physics fault. Absolutely gutted. Must've been someone asleep in the tower. Also, huge brain strategy by Jimmy Fennig atop Kurt Busch's pit box. Along with: HAPPY HARVICK'S DONE IT WHOOHOOOOOOO

Second time this season. God damn. Top 5 was on. Busch finished the race less than half a second behind the leader thanks to that strategy... (+1 lap) Thought you'd be pleased 😅

@@TheOutsideLine Gotta tell you, I just know that you're gonna be a threat in your second season. So much improvement so far, more to come. Just use this season as learning experience, try to remember certain AI behaivors and quirks and you'll be good!

Thanks mate! Yeah I think that's the big one that still catches me out - just knowing when to give them space and learn when I'm at risk of being caught out by shenanigans.

@@TheOutsideLine Just follow my mantra of more give than take in the early parts of teh run, and then once they wear they're stuff out you can attack. Also, they will go for it if you leave just barely enough space to fit a car, regardless of the outcome for the player! Keep it up xD

tbh I've got no clue about NASCAR and the rules or etiquette on track but to me this incident is mainly Kenseth's fault. There is enough room for him on the inside, you squeeze him very lightly but not in a way that there is no other choice for him than to make contact with you and as soon as he is properly alongside, you even open the gap and he still punts you. But as I said: I might be totally wrong. Who is the Niels Wittich of NASCAR so they can judge that? 😄

That's how I felt about it. I was firm but fair. Kenseth just said "coming through" 😅 I think the process in NASCAR is I need to go to his garage after the race and throw fists. 😂

To be fair I don't think that was malicious, that was a racing incident. Kenseth on the other hand was shoving his nose where it didn't belong and you had that corner than NR03 physics happened. To be fair I got spun out of the lead one race at Dover on old tires and quick Ai doing the same thing. I got my payback by running up to the guy who wrecked me under yellow and shoving him into the wall as payback then dropping back to my spot. Gotta love game mechanics not black flagging me for that one. Not that I'm suggesting caution flag shenanigans that is but...R
