Legendary Bangkok street food chef Jay Fai has been described as “The Mozart of the Noodle Pan”. Her restaurant, Raan Jay Fai, was also awarded a Michelin Star in 2018 and 2019.
Unlike most celebrity chefs, Jay Fai does all the cooking herself. Wearing her trademark wooly hat and ski goggles, the 76 year old stands over her woks on a street corner in Bangkok’s Chinatown.
Her speciality is a crab omelette, bursting with delicious chunks of tender crabmeat and cooked to perfection. At 1000 Baht ($33 US) they are expensive but worth every penny.
