While the Suzuki RM-Z250 has remained stagnant over the years, the 2022 model has, as expected, no changes from the 2021 model. We took delivery of the 2022 Suzuki RM-Z250 and instead of our traditional intro, we decided to move forward with our Race Spec segment instead to benefit you.
In this segment of RACE SPEC, we spend a day testing with the 2022 Suzuki RM-Z250 and pinpoint what might just be the perfect set-up for you. Check it out!

Suzuki DOES have it together but they dont pay off the magazines. What do they all say? The suzuki is "heavy". You know what it weighs? 228 lbs. You know what the 2023 yz250f weighs? 228 lbs. You know what the wet weight of a 2003 zy250f was? 229 lbs. Its all bullshit.
@rollypollyraviolli4474
@rollypollyraviolli4474 7 месяцев назад
@@dinglesdingler1211 It also obviously doesn't bother them too much since MXA rated the *lightest in class* CRF250R second to last. If weight mattered so much, that 219 lb 250F woulda been much higher on the list. The Suzy is down ~3HP what it should be, but it also is a very good platform to build out. They also were the first to do dual injectors. $8000 out the door for a stock bike, and then $3000 in ignition, high comp piston, pipe, and ported head, and some free airbox mods and modified torque specs, and you've got a bike that will fight toe to toe with ANY other mod 250F, while still carving out underneath them. If you can't live with a kick-start, you probably should park the moto bikes and buy a minivan.

Manufactures change their MX bikes more often than they actually improve them. This bike has seen very few changes in over a decade, and yet its still within a stones throw of being competitive with bikes that have seen yearly changes as well as some models that have been completely redesigned multiple times in the last decade or so. This bike is still a solid performer after all these years. Bottom line is if you race motocross you will likely have similar results regardless if your on the latest and greatest YZ250F or this long in the tooth RMZ250.

Suzuki might be the heaviest bike and the slowest but after seeing what James Stewart did on his it doesn’t seem slow. It may not have that immediate throttle response that the yamaha, Kawasaki and the other bikes have but it stands its ground

i'll disagree on the great deals, at least in my area. I can get a left over 21 yz250f for 7999 or a 21 kx250 for 7299. 22 rmz250 is 7899 in my neck of the woods. then i have to spend money to change springs? naw. if they were like 6799 no doubt.

Same. The only deals I ever seen in my area may be a few hundred less. To me its worth the few hundred for the updates other brands have such as electric start. Going from a 2005 crf250 to a 2019 ktm 450f has spoiled me haha 😆

Why the hell do you guys use imperial measurements for body weight, height, speed, distance, etc.. and then use newtons for spring rate? Not criticising, just confused..
@williamsnow4175
@williamsnow4175 2 года назад
I think using the imperial system for spring rate is just confusing because it would be pointless fractions and shit. Newton’s are way easier and everyone else uses it so why not 🤷‍♂️

They are great, and yes softer springs solves the issue. But when will they spend on R+D to get 8 pounds off it and an electric start? They cant get 8 pounds off it coz its got a beam frame. Please Suzuki go back to steel KTM style frame. I dont know why the Japanese wont do it, Herlings, Cairoli, Webb are winning championships on them so they definately strong enough !! What is the obsession with an aluminium frame, it just makes them heavier?

I'm only 138lbs and fast as a mutha, so a bike being 7-8lbs too heavy isn't that big of a deal. Until they bring back the steel frame, have to work with what we have. I wish they would all go 3-4 yrs without upgrades, let people have time to adjust to the bike and not waste God's precious resources. We're just wanting to have a good time and I could still have a blast on my 1983 Rm125, if they still made them and boy bring back my brand new stock 1986 Honda Cr125 or Cr500 and let the fun begin... I mean these 4 strokes have been around for a LONG time and every year people complain about something. The cost of these bikes have gone nuts, slow down some and keep the price down, unless your making 3 mill a year racing one..
