Not sure where you came up with the Palestinians but just saying it's as much the Palestinians as it is the Jewish Isrealis...but the latter are the dehumaned for you I guess Don't presume that because you see things through a dehumanizing filter, everyone sees it through that same dehumainzing filter

I can just as easily determine from your response that the Palestinians are lesser than and sub-human in your eyes and the slaughter that is happening to civilians in Gaza right now is not at all saddening or important as the slaughter oct.7th. To you, they are all just “human shields”, the most dehumanizing term used so often today. The group of people with a mass refugee and humanitarian crisis looming is the Palestinians who are blocked from entering Egypt, Jordan, Israel, other European nations have said they will not accept potential refugees as well as significant republican leaders who have made clear they do not want Palestinians to enter America whatsoever even at the risk of massive civilian death and destruction. Israelis are not stuck in Gaza right now, they have free movement. The fact that I have to explain this is so frustrating. Pls educate yourself before attacking me.

Or is it the fact that I didn’t mention them burning you and making you jump to insults.? This isn’t a petty high school issue where mentioning the CLEAR humanitarian and refugee crisis happening in Gaza right now, I repeat right now, somehow overshadows and minimizes the suffering Israelis went through. I made that assumption, and maintain it, because the question of Palestinian refugees running away from bombardment and appalling conditions/violence, is a topic of discussion with many showing CLEAR Islamophobia which, from the reaction to my statement, is sounding like you are expressing. See Ron Desantis, Trump, other prominent republicans, also the Gaza Act which would prevent them from being accepted especially now. Gaza has now become one of the worst humanitarian crisis in the world ( I don’t care who is responsible Hamas/Israel) only getting worse, possible refugee crisis and just a fact. Joy mentioned it herself when discussing how inhumane it’s become that Palestinians are trapped in Gaza and not wanted anywhere in a similar way that Jews were not accepted anywhere in the past. If these facts bother you, or the fact that I did not mention Jews simply because there is not a humanitarian crisis at the same scale, that’s your problem and says a lot about you not me. If you don’t believe that Rachel Maddow was referring to the Palestinian crisis right now, then don’t engage or just dislike my comment, other people seem to agree with me. When you start throwing around insults, is when it gets ridiculous. I don’t separate people into more important/less important, I’m simply referring to the unfolding humanitarian issue we all need to show compassion for. Israelis have a government that takes care of them, Palestinians are relying in aid from neighbouring countries right now( basics like food, water, and medical equipment). Start being intellectually honest, I think that you know what’s going on and that people are now speaking on it.
Court packing is as American as you can get within the Constitution. There are 13 districts and should be 13 justices, as the early days expanded to keep up with the number.
Remember that the attacking people don't respect any religion or peoples other than themselves. According to them all others should die. They have blown up religious monuments in many areas. Israel is the one country protecting all of Jerusalem from this future. Jews will not be permitted into this area that represents so many religions. If I remember correctly, one special rock in this area is revered by so many people but Jews cannot even visit this rock, their Rock of Abraham. It's under a gorgeous building built by invaders in the past. The Wailing Wall will be destroyed also. The remnants of the Temple of Solomon will be destroyed. Only Israel allows all others to visit as long as they are not on a terrorist list. Remember.
Correction @ Joy : When other countries during WW2 closes their door to Jewish people. Philippines, through President Quezon's "Open Door Policy" received up to one thousand three hundred Jewish refugees and settled them in government- provided housing communities. Just FYI.

Folks in the first group (the ignorants) are usually followers, they do a lot of the dirty work like showing up at an insurrection at the Capitol or trolling online, and folks in the 2nd group are usually leaders or have power, like many of of the politicians. You probably are in the 1st group. Jim Jordan and others are in the 2nd. Trump himself is a weird combination of the two, he’s ignorant and has power… Anyway, that’s what brought us to the mess where we are. Countries can help Refugees, only if they are in a position to. I give to charity, but I don’t re-mortgage my house and give it all to charity. There has to be a sensible way to do it.
It has been shown over and over that refugees are often the most hard-working, productive future citizens of a new country. No one is being asked to remortgage their house, just give another person who does not have the same advantages as we do, an opportunity to be accepted and to create a life for themselves as we have.
Have you examined the Federal budget? Defense budget is closing in on 1Trillion annually, thanks to republicans refusal to audit or cut. If we spent 50% less, we'd wipe out the debt in less than 15 years.

I'm very much looking forward to reading Rachel's book. I heard her podcast version of this story already, but I'm sure the book will be a great reference... having it all in one place. I'l see her during her book tour later this month!
I don't have time to read a leisure book, but if it's in audible version I'll definitely get her book... I just loved her podcast 3 different strong stories she and her team deserves all the acalades they're getting very good work I highly recommend checking her out and you do not have to be a democrat to read her work the books are fair with receipts on both sides but you get to learn so much.
a leisure book ? Hey... I can save you effort. Rachel has a podcast and this book grew out of it. I do not find the Nazi incursion into US politics of the 1930s to be leisure reading. Search Rachel podcast and you will find out why America's dynamite factories kept blowing up in the late 30s

I would like a serious examination of the Supreme Court -not because of the GOP shenanigans that skewed it-but because it was set at 9 because there were 9 "districts" and now there are 13....Larger country, larger court but would it be too large????
Alyssa is wrong about the supreme Court they left the number open because they thought we would grow as the districts grew and now we have 13 judicial districts but only 9 judges. Three judges get to sit in two districts which is very ineffective. You don't just keep adding judges, no, you fill the open position. There are 13 districts therefore we need 13 judges, end of the story, am I the only person in reality
President Biden said the reason he doesn't want to add more judges to the Supreme Court is that right now it is so very political. President Biden also said that if he were to add more judges right now in this climate we would get more of the same.

We didn't teach about this in most high school civics class, or American history. It's a shame our kids didn't learn anything about the Holocaust. I keep making this comment and it never resolves, but the View has the most amateur and terrible editing skill on their videos. The videos nearly always end abruptly and it is almost like a total novice edited the clips to post them in a hurry,. What is going on? The content is interesting, but the presentation is poor.

I believe Joy and Sunny, as well as most of us, often refer to the Republican Party as the Republicans, meaning the leadership or the party as a whole. Of course not all Republicans are the same, any more than all Democrats or Independents are the same. It may be technically incorrect, but the label 'Republicans' is commonly used that way.

It would never grow on the left because it's a right-wing ideology. You should at least learn the words you use to try and insult those you disagree with. If you want to use terms that typically have strong, negative associations to accuse those on the left, try socialism, communism, or anarchism.

However, it doesn't undermine all political theory. As far as being an ex-Dem, American Democrats are centrists with the majority in power being on the center-right of the political spectrum.
