I truly admire the relationship you have with your dad and the fact you guys love working on cars together. Me and my dad loved working on cars. My dad was a custom painter and he painted many a movie star cars even some athletes. This was back in the early 80’s. Two weeks ago my heart was broken as my dad passed away from Alzheimers disease. I still take care of my mom and I tell you it is hell losing a loved one you truly care about. Just cherish all the times you have together and appreciate your dad even through all the mistakes and mishaps because when that dreaded day comes and you lose him it’s the worst feeling ever. Great videos. Can’t wait to see the end product. Sorry for being so emotional it’s just the worst feeling ever losing someone.

Thank you for watching along, i lost my grandpa last year to Alzheimer’s. It is a horrible disease and i don’t wish it on anybody. Sorry for your loss. I never take my time with my dad for granted, but when i hear story’s like this it makes me remember that even more.

Hey, like you said "stuff" happens, just be glad you guys are okay. It could have gone really bad with the extra weight, if you had the car on the back of the truck when it went wrong. Years ago I was on the way to a race w a friend, driving in the middle of the night in Ohio and a bear ran out and slammed into the trailer. Just glad you and pop are okay. Get some much needed rest and just keep plugging away. Wish I was closer, I'd toss tools n my welder in the car n get down there. I work cheap, lol.

It was good of your dad trying to get the car ready. needed a pit crew to help you . I helped my buddy when he was racing in the corn track racing. I had a great time so I wanted to build and drive my own car but guess what he didn't want to help me had a fun time trying but just could not do it by myself. Good for you for trying hard to get it done. Keep up the good videos.

Casey I have Been There Done that ! I was on a pit crew for a friend racing Hobby Stocks. There have been days when everything went wrong, get everything done and get to track and something breaks right there in the pit, reload car and go home. Other times just get to the first lap of hot laps or qualifier's and have someone take us out for the night. We did win the season championship one year though. Sure was a lot of fun times too. I was going to drive down from Iowa to meet ya and watch you race, But as always something came up. Keep making those videos . LOVE it !

Most places want the plastic bumper covers removed. Just because they are normally the first thing to get ripped off during a race, and they dont want them lying all over the track. Ive built probably a dozen endurance race cars over the past few years. There are many ways to interpret the rules.

I was telling dad that but he read the rules and just thought the shit was a law. Welded doors is an option but he thought it was mandatory and welded the passenger shut lol. Luckily i was there before he was about to do the drivers

Once you saw that all the parts that make the car go were no longer attached because the place they attach to no longer existed, that should maybe have been your clue to get a different car. Short of gutting it and slapping the shell on a working vehicle, there just wasn't enough left there. I can't fault you for trying, tho.

😢 Its sad when someone just lets a car or truck sit for years. I bet the snow and salt that was left on the car played a huge part in just eating away what was left of everything. I bet she wasnt so bad when he parked her either. Probably just a few spots in the floor that needed patched that he put the sheet metal over.

You need more than a 4-point roll bar to make sure your safe.your safety 1st then you can race,regardless of any deadlines. We both know you were not gonna make the deadline.
