Its a great and flexible ESC and a very powerful series of motors. Excellent value! Have found that if you look around you can get the HPI versions dirt cheap from "chop shops" new and never used. Picked up the flux 4000kV 3656 can for only $40AUD and a flux 3550 4600kV for even cheaper. They are either a castle or Hobbywing motor and are some of the best value cans out in my opinion. Makes them great for budget projects.

I did something similar to this a few years back but I like your battery tray setup. Where did you get your battery holder? (or what brand is it?) The electric conversion is so much faster and more powerful it never even came close to this even when I had the motor tuned the best I could get it.

The battery tray is an Axial one we had laying around. We've also thought of using one from the Team Associated RC8B3e part number 81297 and the Losi SCTE (part number LOSB2415).

What made our conversion easier is that we bought it as a roller with the transmission from the electric E-Maxx model number 3906 already installed. This way, we didn't have to use a conversion kit and lock the one-way bearing in the transmission.

How is that working? You have put all the heavy stuff, battery and motor on the front of the car. Putting that weight in the rear of the car makes for wheelies!! The 35mm X 65mm motor, is a 550size and all most people need.

I am on the fence of converting my T-Maxx 3.0 to electric. With your years of experience would you would recommend moving to a Maxx or do you think the conversion with the T-Maxx is worth while. My concerns sit with plastic drive shafts and diff. I would still need to buy motor, mount and esc. Not interested in speed records, but it would be great to find a good balance of a decent brushless motor that will not blow up the plastic shafts. Your videos are the best I have seen on this brushless conversion. Great job here on your channel.

Im converting mine with the original Emaxx transmission and a 1/8 scale 1360kv brushless motor, basically all you need is a battery tray. For 1/8 scale motors though, im going much higher on the gearing to drop the torque and only running it on 3/4s to make things a little easier on the plastic transmission/shafts. Its going to be a bit slower, but im going to convert it over to the erevo 2.0 transmission in the future, but that will require a custom mounting plate which hasnt been available for a few years now - will need to make it my self 😅

Can you tell me which current Hobbywing combo kit would work for the conversion? I've got 3 old T-Maxx's which haven't run in over 10 years, it'd be great to get them working again.

Thanks for watching and commenting Aaron! The direct replacement would be the HobbyWing Max10. Since you've got three of them, you may want to try a lower cost alternative like the OCDay 120a ESCs on eBay, and a motor to match.

I took my other tmaxx apart an converted it in a few hours an I had an motor mount I made work but don't go past 2s unless you upgrade axels lol I didn't listen lol an both my tmaxx will ride wheels an I did few back flips with stock tires couple hours ago lol my tmaxx is my fav I'm thinking about converting my revo as well

Thanks for watching and commenting! As you probably already know, top speed depends on what gears you are running. Ours is geared pretty low so it goes about 25 mph. We do run a 3S LiPo in it because it's geared low. On 2S it probably only goes ~20 mph.

Thanks for the kind words! We'd suggest the how2rc.com mount if you're going to keep the stock T-Maxx transmission. We went a different route on this truck since we bought it with an old 3906 E-Maxx transmission already installed.

What mount is that pls both my.tmaxx are electric an love them but wanting to do a different set up an yes the axels don't like 3s at least not with the stock tires.

+Eder Eger Thanks for watching! I'm not sure I understand your question. If you are asking which engine mount I'm using, I'm using the transmission and dual motor mount from the E-Maxx Model 3906. I'm only mounting one brushless motor as shown in the video.

We're using a transmission and motor mount off of a E-Maxx 3906 model. An easier and better way for nitro transmission is to use a conversion mount from www.how2rc.com/T-MaxxMotorMounts.html

Thanks for watching! You should be able to, but it all depends on how it's geared and how many cells you're running for your battery. Keep an eye on your motor temperatures to make sure you're not overheating the motor.

no problem it just wow what a startling effect that just as the music starts there is this big drum rhythm out of dead silence I about wet my self jumping out of my seat and my bp went through the roof. Glad I dont have major heart problems remember this hobby though great for children has no set age I know all ages of people who enjoy it and would hate to see something happen to hinder a good cause
