@Vir Singh every culture in hind belongs to anyone in hind....but yeah enjoying different culture from same country more...that's what we are craving for right now.
One thing which a lot of people forget is that north east people in general are a lot racists against the mainlanders as well...especially the christian conservatives who deride their own people as well who follow tribal religions...people should read about the reang issue and organizations like national liberation front of tripura...they act victims but the other side of the story should be seen too
Ask a bihari who went there to live. Biharis have special name for them there. Racism goes both ways but the party who accept it are burdened with it more than the other one.
@@xxxzz8413 Sahi Kaha Bhai. Is takle aur comments mein gadhon ko Kuch pata hi nahin kya situation hai wahan. 3 saal hum rahein hain Nagaland mein, Pura NE hum ghumein hain. Literally Kashmir probably safer hoga Hinduon ke liye compared to NE.
@@comradebear9477 I don't know about Nagaland but in Arunachal Pradesh there is lots of problem that non local faces but still it is much better than Kashmir.
I have spent my whole childhood in Arunachal Pradesh. My father is a teacher and he still teaches their. Local people call mainland Indian as Bihari or other abusive local words like nepak which i later came to know, it means black crow. If you are not local and a state govt employ they will openly discriminate against you, will not give you promotion. Many staff those were very junior to my father surpassed him just for being local. They only faces racism, but in their state they even openly do discrimination in govt job. Nothing happens if non local get beaten, robbed or get killed. Iocal christan openly vendalised temple as they are in majority and local hindus are in minority, and no outrage happens.
I lived in Tazpur for 4 years People there are so sweet But they surely feel a disconnect with the north Indians And we are not solving their illegal migration problem!!!!!!
Edited (with original comment still conveys the meaning): I was expecting the discussion on North Easterns' racism against other tribes like co-hate among Nagas and Meitei; 'foreigners' like Hajongs and Chakmas; people of other states like Bengali genocide (which is nothing lesser than Kashmiri Hindu genocide) and Assam; persistent usage of deregatory terms like Mayang, Dhkar, and Bongal; and othering of themselves by "achieving" Inner Line permits in 4 out of 7 states and demand for it for the same in the rest. Could you please invite someone who throws light on such things as well? No one denies there's hatred against different people groups. But should we call it racism? The way she puts it, actually trivializes racism. Most of the discrimination she faced is faced by many. I have seen upper caste professors in a private college disparaging Dalit-Christians. In the same college I like many wer being mocked at for being Hindu. I don't think it is racism. I, like many many from TN and KL, get teased as Commie whenever BJP does something stupid just for having a name that has way too many vowels and ends with "N". Chuck it. Kannadiga-run businesses in TN and Tamil-run businesses in KA get targeted whenever Kaveri issue comes up.
@Saurabh Adhikari I know. One of my colleagues' family was driven out of Arunachal by a predominant tribal group by issuing notice. When they thought nothing bad could happen and the Indian state would protect them, they killed a cow and placed it's bleeding head in front of their property. They warned them "If you don't obey this will happen to you". They like many faced similar persecution attempts. At least, the Hindutva parties talk about Kashmiri Hindus. No one cares about these Hindus.
I thank you, sir, for giving us so many wonderful discussions on this channel. Keep up the good work. Also, keep writing weekly blogs on your website. They can educate many in our society.
"Oppressed"? You ridiculous Sanghis, do you have any idea how Mainlanders are treated in the NE? Our people can be killed like dogs in the middle of the street & no one will care. NEners are pampered AF with no income taxes, gargantuan subsidies, and defacto license to oppress Hindus & any Mainlanders while folk like you Metro-slickers cheer for them.
@Padmini Prasad Exactly! It's an inter-Muslim problem. They approach their Jama'ats for every other issue and not allow police or the court even if the problem is purely legal. Many Pasmandas enjoy caste-based reservation meant for Hindus. They don't allow any Hindu rituals inside their areas. Unfortunately, there's no one to talk about these victims.
It was a waste of time, hate against one community is cool , but then playing victimcard is worst of it . Just checked her tweet, way too radical. Appreciate you efforts 🙏
Thank you for touching on this subject Kushal. Please do bring on more NE voices as it would benefit all Indians both here and abroad to know their stories & their history. The beauty of India is its diversity and NE is just as integral as any other part of the country to ensure that diversity is maintained. As for the guest - while I respect her position and feel her pain, I felt she targeted the "Hindu majority" for her negative experiences and let the so-called minorities slide for their own part in propelling divides. Isn't it true that the NE area is facing a large influx of muslims that are changing the demographic of the region. Wondering why she didn't touch upon that very daunting reality instead of bashing only Hindus? Throughout my 3 year journey of trying to understand India and its many faultlines I've found that the supremacist idelogies (predominently religious & some political) have taken deep roots in the country. It is these ideolgies which need to be thoroughly reformed. As a Hindu I thrive in the diversity of the country, but see that diversity under attack everyday because of those very forces. Now certainly I agree that we Hindus are not without blame. In fact, because we are more inclined to pluralistic thought, the responsibility lies on us to take very real steps to remedy the issues brought forth by the guest. We, pluralistic minded people must reach out, have conversations, travel and connect through each others experiences across the country. Now while the guest didn't envoke the sympathy she desired, I won't let this one interview dampen my desire to see and experience India as the cornucopia of culture and religions.
I don't think she was the best person to talk about the ignorance of NE by mainland politicians and people. Even her introduction has all the red flags - JNU, Vice, Social Activist, Daughter of a politician, left her job to make noise. WTF! And she did what I expected. Instead of talking about what she and others experienced and describing her work to remedy it, she goes on a leftist rant against Hindus. The issue Kushal tried to talk on was good but the person he chose to invite was bad. I expect better from this podcast. So, disliking something from this channel for the first time.
To all the folks commenting, everyone has the right to speak. That's what free speech is. Sometimes we have to hear points we completely disagree with. Otherwise life is just about hearing the things we like. Is that really how it should be?
@Some Dude LoL. Kya chutiapa logic hai. Kashmir me 370 chahiye North East me 371 aur inner line permit chahiye . Haa Bus Hindu majority states secularism, free paas chahiye sab Ko.
Even In our north east too we have racism against non tribals , inter tribal racism ...people will tag you as so called mainland indian & call you with slang Dkhar, mayang , harring , eh bihari , Bangladeshi , kalu etc ...unfortunately our region racism is not highlighted & condemned by locals & civil society...racism all over india should end be it against southern ,NE people or racism in NE.... the analogy she used for BLM & indians suffering from racism in west & US can same for our regional people including her who never condemn regional racism against non north eastern , non tribals & one tribe against another.
It's good to see some RU-vid channels like yours making a dedicated video on this...it is a deep rooted problem and we need to uproot it.. government must need to bring some bill for punishment for the racism like america....Our North eastern brothers and sisters are as much as Indian as we are....so please stop racism.... we love North eastern peoples a lot...and last but not least some of North eastern girls are super cute ❤️
Anybody who talks of Muslims, Dalits and Tribals in one breath would've a hard time convincing me that they have the right perspective on this matter... Muslims oppress Dalits aplenty, North easterners scorn Biharis aplenty, and STs across the country are as varied and different as chalk and cheese...
Racism is both ways.Ask any outsiders and they will tell you so They are never accepted There is violence against them Promotions are also denied in state govt institutions They also have a harsh negative attitude towards Hindus in the Christian dominated states People are just ignorant about the reality in theNorth eastern states
Kushal Mehar keeps ranting about post moderninst nonsense all the time where everything is termed as violence. Now look at him listening to the same BS with no push back,
Prejudice against Northeast Indians is a serious topic that calls for a serious discussion. Which is not well addressed by a leftist JNU type with their serious. biases from ideological and other baggage which is always being vented in some way.. There are much better people to talk to for a serious discussion. Also don't be afraid to bring up anti-Hindu bias in the Northeast especially against Manipuri Hindus who are persecuted for their faith.
I think everyone would agree that underprivileged people need to be well represented. But I think what we disagree with is the how of it. The problem is that the current system of reservations only goes skin deep and fails to support many minority and underrepresented groups. Fixing the system to provide affirmative action to people who had a to face disadvantages in comparison to the rest of the cohort needs to be considered on a deeper level than what is your caste/religion. Economic disadvantages, linguistic disadvantages, other life circumstances need to be factored in but absolute reservations are not the answer.
All said, India (center) needs to work to demographically integrate the rest of India with the North east. Otherwise this too is going to end up like Kashmir.
Its coming out of ignorance of Ahom history, Tripura's background ,history of Nagas.. etc etc...our historians have told such a crappy history that most of us have no idea of NE.. ive made a video of AHOMs vs Mughals...the community thet that thrashed the 3 of the main Mughals and not just the Battle of Saraighat..
No one has brought NE India so close to India than the BJP govt. NDA ii has built so much infrastructure facilities that has enhanced physical connectivity. This has started communication and cultural interaction between other states and NE India.
As if it wasn't bad enough that Indians were discriminating against fellow Indians for having a slightly darker skin than themselves or for not speaking hindi just bcoz they do or due to caste differences but to discriminate against fellow Indians for being of a different race or having a different appearance seems somehow even worse when we're also accusing the West for being racist against India. Also it's bad enough to hate Chinese people when it's their govt that is the problem but to hate fellow Indians thinking they're Chinese is just pathetic.
I've never in my academic life been exposed to this community but have observed that they are always seen in groups. I understand that now. My nephew and some other members have married into this community and we find them like anyone else. Coming from South India they have always been security guards and night Watchmen which they have done very well without betraying trust. Of late I've come to understand that they are very truthful and can be relied upon with cash.
Do u know what bihari mean in Delhi and other parts of the country. Same with jharkhandi we are called out as jungli(uncivilized. illiterate, idiot)....isn't this racism. But it is okay isn't it. Everyone faces this but no acknowledgement at all.........
It's not racist per se, but it indeed is classist and regionalist. Personally I would say the north east faces a lot of this problem primarily because of their race.
Bengali or Bihari or Jharkhandi all belong to an imagined "Indian race". Usually you won't be able to differentiate between them easily. But when you see a Mizo or a Tangkhul, you'll immediately identify their features are entirely different from yours be it the eyes or skin tone or accent. This is what makes their experience different. That's racism because they are discriminated because of their race. But a Monpa or a Sherdukpen or an Angmai do not belong to that "Indian race". They are discriminated for looking different.
@@ErenYeager-jp4gc SO its okay to use your "imagined" slur to to imagined race?????! By your logic i can also say that as north east ppl look differently than others and many times common ppl, out of curiosity ask them things that wud often b term as racist as per prevalent/established norm in fucked up popular culture. It laways happens when something "out of sync" entered into a region wud faces welcomed attitude....thats what happen to a jharkhandi-they termed as jungli...but its okay to ppl like u... but when same thing happens to other(north east) its different right?!!! Another level of hypocrisy/double face.Keep it up ( i have faced it as jharkhandi i know how it feels)
kya hardcore leftist bandi hai yaar....even during winding up she's all about dalit oppression, Muslims being killed....same old propaganda. Jispe baat karni hai woh karke niklo. For me, she lost all her credibility by the end of the podcast. Their problems are real par inko actual solutions se kuch lena dena nahi hai...inko khali karl marx ki utopian duniya chahiya. It wasnt any political ideology that taught me as a kid to stretch my eyes and mock NE people, it was the society and I think we as a society need to get better and socialism or communism wont help it. We need to educate kids from a very young age about such issues. To be honest, I don't think this woman would even consider someone else's problems if they didn't share her political views.
@@badkarma1425 but her ideology based on selectivism. She didn't mention anywhere about racism, discrimination, Hindu hatred face by mainland Indians in North East. Agar koi tribal , muslim, Christian, dalit, North Eastern nahi hai to wo kabhi victim nahi ho sakta Aisa sochna hai communists , politicians, Govt, bureaucracy ka. Isliye aaj tak Kashmiri hinduo ke genocide ko recognise nahi kiya hai Indian govt. Isliye aaj tak na koi FIR hui Na court case. Aur abhi 2 saal pehle Kashmir Hindu supreme court gaye to court ne bola itni purani baat ho gayi ab kuch nahi ho sakta.jao apne ghar
There is certainly some discrimination against NE people but this is not something for NE people only, derogatory terms are in use for Biharis, Pahadees, Sikhs, Persons from Eastern UP, Gujjars, South Indians, Marwarees nd many other groups, she did not mention even once that NE people stuck in Covid in other states were helped by locals similar to help for locals without any discrimination, she did not bother to mention BJP Govtt positive efforts to increase recruitment from NE in Delhi Police nd Para military, opening of new AIIMS, IIMs, Engineering colleges, increased emphasis on Road infrastructure there by BJP Govtt, she did not mention how much christians hate Hindus in her area states , how much Hindu tribals there faced violence by Christians nd other local racist group, she herself appears to be hardcore racist with hatred for Hindus nd India, she is silent on violent nd fraudulent activities of Christian conversion mafias there but talks of Dalits, the usual trait of Commies to divide Hindus, activities of missioneries conversion mafias there fraudulently converting innocent tribal people uprooting them from their local culture, history, ancestry of thousands years nd tagging to foreignland rooted ideology is no exploitation for her, she has all the traits of Tukdey Tukdey commie gangs, there are lot of unbiased, social activists from NE nd Kushal should have called any of those, Linda Newmai, social activist from Nagaland, would have provided a balance view for awareness of viewers about difficulties faced by NE people, Linda Newmai worked so enormously to help NE people stuck in other states during Covid, ask this Commie JNU commie girl, she would have done nothing to help NE people stuck in covid in other states, Commies do nothing on ground nd expert of discussions nd criticism only
Can we Indians really claim the North East to be an integral part of India, when we don't fix the racism first? Is there even a law to punish such hate speech?
Clueless Metro-living softies are nothing but LARPers with no clue of how things are IRL, & this baldy in the video is no different. NEners treat Mainlanders like crap. Not one day passes when one of us isn't attacked or abused or, often, murdered by them. Mainlanders have been killed by their crowds in the middle of entire cities while police watch, because interfering would be racist. Lakhs of Bengalis have been made 3rd class citizens there- but for you people, life is like some Harry Potter kid's book. Why am I even wasting my time? Your kind will never understand.
I think we have a very euro-centric idea of what Indians are supposed to look like and that's why we see certain people as foreigners or tribal or low caste based on features and skin tone.
@@abenyayapathi1083 its not we have eurocentric Idea . It's the European gave us and imposed that identity. They created these identities and fault lines. Christian missionaries destroyed north east. You as non Christian is third class citizen in North East by law and social culture.
I think she is not the best person to talk about discrimination against NE people as she introduce her self pass out of jnu then activists, actully this girl come with a lal salam ideology. I accept we main land Indians should ashamed ourselves for our acts.
She knows more than you or that baldy ever will. She knows perfectly how her people treat Bengalis and other Mainlanders, but acts here like a Bambi because she knows thirsty Metro-living softies will nod their heads to everything she says
Abe if you have the balls, go stay in Kohima for an year. They'll spit on you on your face. They may decide to simply kill you one day and if you fight back, you'll be racist and jailed. Mainlanders are treated like dogs there.
Northeast except Assam is definitely more worst then Kashmir for non tribals if ur truth real and fare you’ll be heard and the whole world will listen to you…racism just everywhere.
