Haresh goes to lunch with members of his own community - the Indians. He meets a man who went viral over a racist incident, an artist who is exhibiting on the moon, and the owner of one of Singapore’s most beloved food brands.
Haresh’s first lunch buddy is Dave Parkash, who went viral when a polytechnic lecturer accosted him and his girlfriend over their interracial relationship. Dave reveals what happened the day of the incident, and how his life has changed since.
Haresh then grabs a bite with Lakshmi Mohanbabu, an artist whose work will be displayed on the moon! Over traditional Kerala cuisine, they chat about her experience growing up in Afghanistan and her life as a new citizen in Singapore.
Finally, Abdul Malik Hassan, the owner of Crave Nasi Lemak, shares a meal of chapati with Haresh. Abdul Malik talks about his interracial marriage, and how food unites Singaporeans.

As an Indian from India, when I lived in Singapore the race I got the most warmth from was Malays. Even Singaporean Indians have an air of superiority towards Indians from India.

I'm from Malaysia and I always thought that Singapore have moved beyond race and racism only happens in Malaysia. This series is an eye opener. From this series I gather Singapore is moving uphill towards racial harmony while in Malaysia we're going downhill towards discord. I sure hope that in 10, 20 years time we can all identify ourselves as Malaysians or Singaporeans and not CMIO.

Nobody can abolish racism totally no matter hard you try the best thing we can do not to offend each other by calling hateful remarks

I think a majority of Chinese drivers is racist against Indians. On time, I was doing Grab share, the person that was supposed to share the ride with me is an Indian. The driver just ignored the booking based on the persons Indian sounding name. I feel really bad for the guy who is probably waiting forever having the carb driving further and further.

Lakshmi's story about living in Afghanistan was surreal to hear. I'd read before about how bombings was commonplace but to hear from her that people would resume some normal activities about their daily lives through the chaos was quite something. Thanks for doing these interviews, Haresh and team.

when the incident went viral, i was actually surprised that my 48-year-old mother & especially my 61-year-old father were supportive of the couple. they said that mixed-race relationships are normal nowadays. it made my day!

Quite astonished to find out so much more about Crave. Especially so since I literally just ate the Selera Rasa Nasi Lemak this morning, cooked by Dr Abdul himself as it were. (Note: I'm certain of this because my sister said, "oh the super nice young man is there today".) I really like his line of thinking and I'm glad I got to know more about the dish and its origins. Quite frankly, the OG Adam Road Nasi Lemak is probably one of the best, if not the best in Singapore.

Racism exists... everywhere in the world... even in China amongst the different minority groups. Only thing that is different is whether it is mild or serious. If anyone is interested to know if race affects their wealth, I just made a video about it. :)

Haresh is not a good host. He merely says 'hmm', 'ya' with no idea to ask follow up questions. He seems disinterested in the answers to be honest. Shows that he has no journalism training, and only knows how to ask questions from the script. Please choose a better host.
