Symptoms
In men, hair often begins to recede from the forehead.
Male-pattern baldness
Women tend to lose hair along the part.
Female-pattern baldness
Patchy hair loss (alopecia areata) is sometimes preceded by itchy or painful scalp.
Patchy hair loss (alopecia areata)
Repeated stress on the hair can cause a type of hair loss called traction alopecia.
Traction alopecia
t's becoming increasingly common for menopausal women to experience frontal fibrosing alopecia, in which the hairline moves back.
Frontal fibrosing alopecia
Hair loss can appear in many different ways, depending on what's causing it. It can come on suddenly or gradually and affect just your scalp or your whole body.
Signs and symptoms of hair loss may include:
Gradual thinning on top of head. This is the most common type of hair loss, affecting people as they age. In men, hair often begins to recede at the hairline on the forehead. Women typically have a broadening of the part in their hair. An increasingly common hair loss pattern in older women is a receding hairline (frontal fibrosing alopecia).
Circular or patchy bald spots. Some people lose hair in circular or patchy bald spots on the scalp, beard or eyebrows. Your skin may become itchy or painful before the hair falls out.
Sudden loosening of hair. A physical or emotional shock can cause hair to loosen. Handfuls of hair may come out when combing or washing your hair or even after gentle tugging. This type of hair loss usually causes overall hair thinning but is temporary.
Full-body hair loss. Some conditions and medical treatments, such as chemotherapy for cancer, can result in the loss of hair all over your body. The hair usually grows back.
Patches of scaling that spread over the scalp. This is a sign of ringworm. It may be accompanied by broken hair, redness, swelling and, at times, oozing.
When to see a doctor
See your doctor if you are distressed by persistent hair loss in you or your child and want to pursue treatment. For women who are experiencing a receding hairline (frontal fibrosing alopecia), talk with your doctor about early treatment to avoid significant permanent baldness.
Also talk to your doctor if you notice sudden or patchy hair loss or more than usual hair loss when combing or washing your or your child's hair. Sudden hair loss can signal an underlying medical condition that requires treatment.
People typically lose 50 to 100 hairs a day. This usually isn't noticeable because new hair is growing in at the same time. Hair loss occurs when new hair doesn't replace the hair that has fallen out.

@dvndroneography

@@scottgarbo1288 no one has noticed mine, that I know of. I go to a professional salon and most guys hair there looks so real you can’t tell. So you are only spotting the obvious ones because those guys wouldn’t know how to fix their hair if they had it, let’s be honest. Look at the average guy when you walk around, you think he’s going to take the time to fix his hair system so that it looks right? Probably not. You can’t do certain styles at certain ages either and a lot of guys don’t understand that. Like you can’t do long hair past 24-25 ish (usually) for instance. Just doesn’t look right. I only spot them in public once in a blue moon and it’s always some older guy with a long system. Also don’t push back your hair if temples are receded, looks fake. Takes time to learn this stuff though.

@JakeKent there are a lot of concerns and examples of tape and glue killing bio hair that makes people hesitate to go this route (chemicals, blocking pores, and traction alopecia). For those who have seen great reactions from meds but stopped due to sides, the idea of damaging bio hair in the future is a major concern. Especially with all the good research going on, the idea of permanently damage potential regrowth isn't appealing. Dermatologists and others have cited this as a potential issue with the current recommended bonding. What are your thoughts here?

Hey Jake, today I bought my first hair system, thank you for talking about these topics. I'm not completely bald yet but my hair looks terrible. What a difference man, everyone compliments my hair system. Currently I'm on treatment for hair loss, but it's gonna take a lot of time for me to get some results, I'm in my 20s and I don't want to waste more years overthinking about my appearance and having low self-esteem. Turns out dense hair looks good on me, I didn't even know I could look so good! :)

IMO, this is probably the best video you've made. You're right - it is deep stuff because hair loss can have a profound impact on people. Personally, if someone doesn't like you or me because of our hair, or lack thereof, then I don't want anything to do with them. I have zero interest in such shallow people. I would think that most people want to be appreciated for who they are, in the long run, not for what they look like. Making personal decisions based on what other people think is always a dark path to go down, so do what's best for YOU and not what''s best for others' opinions of you.

Jake great wisdom as always. I have said this before but I came across your videos when I was thinking about getting a hair system. Your encouragement and knowledge really helped me to cross the bridge from the place of living a lessor version of the person I wished and knew I could be to a path where I could be that person. Getting the hair system changed my life in a much more profound way than I'd imagined. The first time I looked at my face with hair a switch was flipped inside me and I've been seeking a better version of myself since. The change can be very profound! It was for me. Fear is the enemy. Taking control of your destiny and deciding you don't have to accept something as your only reality is powerful. The most powerful voice isn't the people whose opinions we're afraid of. It's ours. When you own your choices people react to that. Thank you for doing what you do Jake.

hair systems on paper seem like an easy fix but boy oh boy do they take a physiological toll, you are never really completely at ease you are always aware that somebody may out you, and the maintenance is insane a full time commitment, i believe if you can save some pennies a FUT transplant is the best way to go and using topical solutions to keep the new hair growth heathy.

@@dvndroneography good for you, but its the cost also and they begin to look ratty after a month or so, the expense of constant buying new ones just do the math after a couple of years saving you would have enough cash to get a transplant, look at Elon Musk that's a transplant for sure i realize money is not an issue for him, but his hair looks fantastic and its all his own . To me it just makes more sense to wear a baseball cap for a while and save the pennies and hopefully get a professional transplant. Each to there own i guess.

THIS!! I feel I've started losing more hair after I started using hair system xD. It's easier if you're already into a relationship before getting the system. Being single I'm always nervous about someone finding it out. And don't get me started on the maintenance, took me a whole day to clean and install the system myself (did it first time the last week). Moreover, it's always hard to set the hair the same way they do at the salon. Still learning how to use the blower and brush together to make good hairstyle despite using the system for months now. But I'm stuck with a hair system as a transplant, no matter how good, will never give the same results, that also if it succeeds. Morevoer, you're stuck to meds for life. It's a tough life 😭

@@anshulgupta9754 your wrong! a friend of mine went to Turkey and got a 7500 graft in 2 sessions using the FUT multi graphing technique i believe... and he looks amazing just like his own natural hair, it did take a good year to fully thicken but why would wear a RUG (sorry but they are always obvious people are just too polite to say anything) when you can get your real hair back, just save some money its probably cheaper in the long run.
@jimwarrick
@jimwarrick Год назад
@@anshulgupta9754 Reading your comment I noticed you said it took an entire day to clean and install your system. This seems really excessive! It probably took me about 3 hours the first time. It's been getting quicker each time. Now my entire routine, including removal, cleaning tape/glue residue off of the system, washing and conditioning the system, shaving my scalp, showering to include deep cleaning scalp and hair, scalp prep, tape placement, unit alignment, frontal glue (makes for a better front hairline) then final system placement on my head and styling takes about 2 hours. Did you experience some difficulties along the way? I've found watching a bunch of videos regarding clean up and reinstallation really helps you to learn some shortcuts and skills along the way. Stick with it, it gets easier!

I’ve had thinning hair for many years and a week ago I decided to take the plunge and visit a well respected facility that only handles hair systems. I opted to purchase one and was told it will take a two month approximate wait for it to arrive. A mold of my head was taken so I understand this is customized for me. Currently Minoxidil and Toppik have gotten me by. I made this decision after years of dwelling on it. Issue now is that I’ve decided not to use the system I don’t even have yet. Since I do have hair on the top of my head, shaving it off for this system to be applied makes me quite apprehensive. If I hate the replacement hair, I will be bald for months before the regrowth gets to where it is now. While I gave this a lot of thought, this always concerned me. Wonder how everyone else dealt with this.
