In men, hair often begins to recede from the forehead.
Male-pattern baldness
Women tend to lose hair along the part.
Female-pattern baldness
Patchy hair loss (alopecia areata) is sometimes preceded by itchy or painful scalp.
Patchy hair loss (alopecia areata)
Repeated stress on the hair can cause a type of hair loss called traction alopecia.
Traction alopecia
t's becoming increasingly common for menopausal women to experience frontal fibrosing alopecia, in which the hairline moves back.
Frontal fibrosing alopecia
Hair loss can appear in many different ways, depending on what's causing it. It can come on suddenly or gradually and affect just your scalp or your whole body.
Signs and symptoms of hair loss may include:
Gradual thinning on top of head. This is the most common type of hair loss, affecting people as they age. In men, hair often begins to recede at the hairline on the forehead. Women typically have a broadening of the part in their hair. An increasingly common hair loss pattern in older women is a receding hairline (frontal fibrosing alopecia).
Circular or patchy bald spots. Some people lose hair in circular or patchy bald spots on the scalp, beard or eyebrows. Your skin may become itchy or painful before the hair falls out.
Sudden loosening of hair. A physical or emotional shock can cause hair to loosen. Handfuls of hair may come out when combing or washing your hair or even after gentle tugging. This type of hair loss usually causes overall hair thinning but is temporary.
Full-body hair loss. Some conditions and medical treatments, such as chemotherapy for cancer, can result in the loss of hair all over your body. The hair usually grows back.
Patches of scaling that spread over the scalp. This is a sign of ringworm. It may be accompanied by broken hair, redness, swelling and, at times, oozing.
When to see a doctor
See your doctor if you are distressed by persistent hair loss in you or your child and want to pursue treatment. For women who are experiencing a receding hairline (frontal fibrosing alopecia), talk with your doctor about early treatment to avoid significant permanent baldness.
Also talk to your doctor if you notice sudden or patchy hair loss or more than usual hair loss when combing or washing your or your child's hair. Sudden hair loss can signal an underlying medical condition that requires treatment.
People typically lose 50 to 100 hairs a day. This usually isn't noticeable because new hair is growing in at the same time. Hair loss occurs when new hair doesn't replace the hair that has fallen out.

Damn! We went through the exact same phase! This is a very personal choice and experience. From shock to disappointment in the hair system. It was awful not getting educated at the hair system salon. I didn’t know anything. What was I supposed to do? Keep going back? RU-vid is great. Now I can get the education needed.

many of these salons never want you to learn anything because that's how they suck you in with their expensive monthly payments.

Hi again Jake. Thank you so much for making this video, just as you promised you would. You’ve touched on so many things that have been on my mind. I think the scariest part is going to be “that point of no return” that you mentioned. I think the advantage for me though is i just have thin hair and I currently use coloured spray and fibres so to others, I’m not bald. Once, I get the hair system installed, I think to others, my hair will just look healthier, fuller and longer......at least that’s my hope. Your videos are very honest and you have a very gentle, kind nature about you that makes me feel really good. Your videos are really helping me. I hope this doesn’t sound weird but I wish we were closer. I’d love to be there to support each other and help each other out through this journey. Aside from that, I think it’d be really nice to get to know you. A lot of the things you said in your video really hit home, and made me emotional at certain points. I wish I could just give you a hug. Honestly, thank you for doing this. I love when you say “it’s gonna be okay” and that “we need each other.” You’re pretty incredible.

Damnn! I can already predict you're gonna have a big hair system youtube channel (if you want it, at least). You explain very well and are mentioning the importent things. Keep up the good work. Will follow your channel! Hope you make more videos regarding how it holds up when you do sports everyday and the maintenance that comes with it. That's the only thing for now that's keeping me from wearing one.

Hey, bud! I appreciate you putting out this video even though I'm a year late in watching it. A lot of the things that you said hit home for me as a hair system user. I had never thought that I'd be this emotional about my own experience and I can't count the number of times that I rolled my eyes on myself. I'd always regarded myself as a rational and logical person and so feeling so much sadness, distress, and anxiety over something that I had thought as ordinary as hair has annoyed and perplexed me. You said that folks like you and me need each other. Oh, man, that made me laugh because I always believed that I didn't need anyone for anything. In my book, any man who said he needed another person was weak. In complete humility, I'm now conceding and admitting that I am weak. I do need people for this journey after all. Lol! I'm staying the course because the folks around me say they like it and I find it really irrational to quit. Lol. Besides, I've spent so much money on this, I might as well enjoy it. And it is growing on me. You said that it felt fake for you at some point. I've felt that too. It's depressing and also annoying because there is now tension between my emotions and the rational side of my brain. Anyway, once again I thank you for putting this out. It was like you took the words out of my mouth. God bless you, buddy.

I tell almost everyone and everyone is always surprised and its never been a deal breaker when dating. I'm in Ft Lauderdale. The salons here suck. As I have said, I do it all on my own now. If youve discovered a good stylist in Miami hit me up..been wearing thé same hair style for years. My only regret is I waited till I was 24 to get a $150 piece for 950$ at what used to be a décent salon. It is an instant confidence booster.

Been rocking the bald look for 3 years now and I like it, the thing is it gets kinda boring just having the same type of look. I remember when I grew out my hair for a year and shave it all off. Would you recommend getting a hair system to spice things up from time to time?

I went through all of the emotions when I first started too. I was very excited when I walked out of the hair salon with my new whip, as Curtis says. I was determined to do this on my own though, and from that point on, and I have. However the very first time I tried to do a re-groom after my initial install at the salon, I was so frustrated that I just about threw it in the trash. I was like F this I can’t do it, I’m done! But then I calmed my ass down, took a deep breath and told myself to just take my time, I can do this. I finally got it on and it looked fantastic. After that I only got better and better at my re-grooming. I’m almost two years into wearing I have a pretty good system to doing it all myself. I personally couldn’t have done it without Curtis’s ebook and video training that he has.

You are so right, I've been wearing hair systems since 1988 and remember when I first had it fitted I went back to the salon to get it removed because of all the reasons that you mention, even though no-one noticed that I'd had it replaced, they persuaded me to keep it, now all these years later and 2 ex wives ( who never knew) I'm still wearing hair and do it myself now, so no expensive salons

First i wanna say , thanks for making these videos . They are very helpful and very much needed for us guys to discuss this topic. This is the first time hearing about euro tape . Like i was saying in your last video - im also extremely active and sweating is a huge huge concern . Do you just use euro tape around the perimeter or do you also put some down the middle ect ? Also what type of system do you have ? poly or lace or combo of poly and lace . sorry if youve answered this already . anyway thx a lot for the videos . keep them coming .
@JakeKent
@JakeKent 4 года назад
Right now I’m running a poly system, which I’ve heard is the most “unbearable” for working out because it traps heat. Our head is where we lose the most heat, hence why we sweat. My next system will be a lace, I believe. Currently I’m rocking eurotape on the outsides, and a bond on the top. :)
@Briggz30
@Briggz30 4 года назад
@@JakeKent ahh ok . yeah poly is the most realistic as far as an unexposed hairline, but does trap a lot of heat . So you also use the tape at the hairline as well then ?

I do. It’s more “unrealistic”, but I’ve found a way to make it look natural

The one system that I had put on, I took off within a day. I threw it in the trash. A few months later I found it in a plastic bag. Turns out my then wife thought it was funny to take it out of the trash and keep it, without me knowing, to show people and make fun of me behind my back. I’ve never tried this again because of that.
