Since the 1970s, the feminist movement has focused on promoting self and eliminating God from society. Their success is evident, even in many churches today. In this video, Bre Wood unpacks four marks of Christian womanhood that Paul provides in 1 Timothy 2, radically different from culture's demands.

Hello Everyone, I am a born-again Christian who is a radical feminist. My Christian faith informs/guides every act I take, including advocating for women and children. Radical feminists tend to be against gender identity ideology, prostitution, many are against surrogacy, etc. I am an activist well-versed in the movement. I say with confidence that this video is misleading and lacks an understanding of radical feminism and liberal feminism (which I do not endorse). While I could classify liberal feminism as demonic, radical feminism has a lot in common with Christian teaching. A bigger problem is male idolatry and the deification of men which most of the church ignores. Don't be afraid of Radical feminism. Instead, reject male idolatry. Men (and women) will fail you...God will not.

Bre this is beautifully said and an elegant way. I think you did a great job describing it from the radical standpoint while presenting women in a beautiful light! We can't do it without women that's for sure! Thanks for the calming and wonderful message.

My mother despite being that 'ideal housewife' was beaten throughout her life by my father. The Church didn't help her in anyway, not did Scripture. She stayed in the abuse because of her fear of divorce and the social stigma and biblical sanction she would receive. My father knew this too and was comfortable to continue in his behaviour as this exalted head of the family.

There is a question here also about Paul letters being for all space and all time. I believe they are but the message for woman at that time was also very specific as there were female lead cults in the region which subverted Gods creative order and put woman and fertility at the centre, not Christ, hence the call back to Genesis’ creation narrative. If we are to apply this passage now it still rings true in a culture on the warpath against the spiritual principle of male headship. Historically context is always useful but it just shows how the human condition is the same now as it was in Paul’s day.

1. I think we need to understand the context in which these were written 2. As a woman, I believe that there are differences between men and women; however I want the same opportunities as a man gets. God put things on my heart that He wants me to do with my life that I can’t do if I’m pregnant and barefoot in someone’s kitchen. God puts callings on women’s lives too, and we can’t discount this because of ideas of humans.

I was struck this year when I realized that egalitarianism is Christian Feminism. Oh my! If women considered this, they might change their perspective to one that is Christ-centered and marriages and church government would be much more peaceful.

*Trad Wife here...* *Happily married to a Godly man, wonderful husband, father, and provider.* *TRUE "feminism" is to honor the Lord and be the mothers and wives as intended!* *We do not need to be CEO's to have value! Homeschooling my children is far more precious a job!*

You also do not need to be a mother or a wife to be valued either, especially since there were women in the bible who worked. Let's not forget that not everyone women is intended to marry or become a wife as Paul mentioned in the NT

@thomasspencer9636

I'm sure its fine for that reason, I think Paul was referring to the pagan religions that braid there hair in representation of pagan Gods and for an unholy reason. Many Viking women braided there hair and did for the mark of shield maiden, a role a woman should not bare.
@jrluvzmari

That type of interpretation you suggest is the wrong way to interpret this passage. Why? My wife and I came out of an Oneness Pentecostal movement that used that very text to tell women not to wear makeup or jewelry but always skip the braiding of the hair part. Proper context is just as you adorn the outward it's a matter of the heart. Adorn your heart; otherwise, that type of legalistic interpretation tells the woman not to adorn your heart.

1 Peter 3 will help you with the context.. which is, do not merely let your adornment outwardly but inwardly with a gentle and chaste spirit which is pleasing to God.. Be known by your goodness from the inward person of the heart not because you are physically attractive..

You misunderstand the scripture here. Women are not to teach MEN or have authority over MEN. She is teaching WOMEN. Listen again to her message carefully. She is specific about who she is addressing, ladies who she is allowed, in fact, commanded to teach. In Titus 2:3-5, you will see that older women are commanded to teach what is good to and train younger women.

Christianity is not about what to do and not to do. It is about materialising, bearing, reflecting and embodying godly moral values. And these values should shape everything about us, our thoughts, our actions, our apperance, because these values are what reflect the glory of God. For your particular question modesty is the answer. Its not about finding fault with putting on makeup, its about letting the value that is modesty shape the way you use makeup so that you can best reflect that value when others see it.

nothing new here ... move along ...Paul spoke to the church in this passage due to problems ... maybe a little context and history lesson would suffice. Maybe instead of deciding which hill to die on the Church can do a preach the gospel to the unchurched ... as the churched "churchs" dwindle in numbers and influence. Stats prove this to be true.We are great at focusing on the minor and trying to make it a major.
