I have an innovator and absolutely love it. I just ordered a Katana Assault that should be delivered today. I am really looking forward to the Katana when I need just a little bit more pop in the backend. The Katana Assault should fit that little gap really really well. I am excited to try it out. This should fit extremely well in my asymmetric bag.

Brian. I use a Knockout Black and Blue. Roll it around the second arrow. A little bend to it. About 16 MPH. It works great for me in the transition. I kill it then. But, last night for the first time I got to bowl on the lanes when they are freshly oiled. The knockout just didn't read the kids for me enough. I do not want to move right. I am looking for a ball to mid the mid when the oil is fresh. Do you think the Envy tour would be the next step up for me to accomplish that? I want to read the midline a little more with a controllable back end. Thx, Charlie

envy tour is a small step up, but is has lower flare potential as a tour-style ball. Radical Innovator SOLID would be a good option with more flare. (the pearl is in this video). if you don't encounter this issue too often, do not be afraid to move your feet right with the KO BB to get the ball to pick up!

@@BowlingBuckosh Thx. I just got the explosion. I love this ball! I can not wait until you come out with a video analyzing the new Columbia balls. Honestly, I think I am retiring my BB and going to the CUDA but I have to wait till June. It will be my birthday present.

How does the Katana Assault match up to a speed dominant player?

traditionally, speed dominate players struggle to get these types of shapes to start hooking earlier enough. if you play on a high-friction shot, or play outside of the oil line, it could be useful. if you bowl on higher volumes, i would say don't be afraid to cut the box finish with a decently aggressive surface pad, because the HK cover is still naturally clean. if you can get it to pick up in the right part of the lane, it WILL hook.

Sir i have a question. comparing purple hammer, attitude control and black widow pink urethane, how they sit in terms of total hook and reaction?

pink is the earliest midlane and most forward-rolling, attitude control is in the middle with a sweeping motion and more hook than the purple, and purple pearl flares the least and seems to hook a little more at the back of the lane.

better is a subjective term. they are different. if you need a smoother but stronger asym pearl, the innovator would be the ball. if you need a cleaner and sharper asym pearl, assault is really good!
